Bosnia-Herzegovina capital declared safe from landmines.
Twenty-five years after the end of the conflict in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the United States-funded project to clear Sarajevo of unexploded ordinances has been successfully completed. It is part of the Mine Free Sarajevo initiative, which began in 2019, and was implemented by the Slovenia-based non-profit ITF Enhancing Human Security. Canines from the non- governmental organization Bosnia and Herzegovina Mine Detection Dog Training Center assisted, as well as the US non-profit the Marshall Legacy Institute. The United States has donated more than US$117 million since 1996 to make Bosnia and Herzegovina weapons and landmine free, and more than 35.7 million square meters of land in the nations have so far been returned to local communities for safe use. The United States is a recipient of four Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, three Shining World Leadership Awards for Good Governance, seven Shining World Leadership Awards for Promoting Healthy Living, and Shining World Leadership Awards for Justice, Protection, and Environmental Protection; and a laureate of 23 Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, three Shining World Leadership Awards for Protection, two Shining World Leadership Awards for Loving Care, a Shining World Peace Leader Award, Shining World Caring Leadership Award, and Shining World Super Loving Care Leadership Award. Wonderful news, Sarajevo! Our heartfelt gratitude, United States for your generosity. Many thanks ITF Enhancing Human Security, Marshall Legacy Institute, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina Mine Detection Dog Training Center, with a special salute to the courageous and talented canine team. May beautiful Sarajevo be forever colored in the hues of glorious peace, in Divine light.
New UK study warns of higher rising sea levels in face of climate change.
Scientists from the Imperial College London in the United Kingdom are warning that climate change could raise sea levels much more than previously estimated. Published in the environmental journal One Earth, the study was led by Dr. Martin Siegert and included in-depth information on the way that ice sheets and glaciers respond to rising temperatures. It found that if temperatures increase by 4 degrees Celsius by 2100, then the rise of sea levels could be double that of earlier estimates, which were as much as 1.1 meters higher than sea levels from 1950. Dr. Siegert said, “If we don’t do more to avert dangerous global heating, we may reach a point where we can no longer protect people.” Our sincere appreciation for your thorough work, Dr. Martin Siegert and colleagues. We pray humanity will collaborate in Heaven’s wisdom and become vegan to save our precious planetary home.

Good day, radiant viewers! I’m Ella the vegan European Badger. Why be ordinary when you can be extraordinary? Embody compassion and adopt the vegan lifestyle. Today, I’d like to offer a tip. Did you know flushing cat litter down the toilet can clog up the pipes, pollute drinking water, and harm ecosystems? It may not be safe for the piping system, even if it’s promoted as “flushable litter.” A simple and common technique to discard cat litter is to scoop it out of the box into a bag that can be tightly sealed, then throw it in the trash. For this, you can use bags made for cat waste that meet strict biodegradable standards. Thank you for tuning in, and love you for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet thus save the world! Now the weather around the globe!
University student discovers how to harvest ultraviolet light for energy.
The 2020 James Dyson Sustainability Award recipient Carvey Ehren Maigue, an engineering student at the Mapúa University in the Philippines, invented a device that can convert ultraviolet light into electricity. Traditional solar devices have been unable to tap into this high frequency spectrum. However, Mr. Maigue created the Aurora Renewable Energy and UV Sequestration (AuREUS) device that mimics how auroras use luminescent particles in the atmosphere to change UV light into visible light. The invention uses luminescent particles derived from certain waste crops that are then suspended in a resin that Mr. Maigue used to make a solar window and wall. Upcycling crop waste also makes it more sustainable to fabricate. What an ingenious creation! Congratulations, Carvey Ehren Maigue! We can’t wait to hear about your future developments! May humans always offer gratitude for the amazing gifts provided by nature, in God’s love.

Temple abbot provides forever homes to thousands of cats and dogs in China.
With the help of nine workers and several volunteers, Reverend Master Zhi Xiang, the abbot of Bao’en Temple in Shanghai, China, is currently tending to over 4,500 homeless felines and canines. Of all the rescues, approximately 500 are residing at the temple for special care, while the remaining 4,000 healthy ones live in an over 7,000 square-meter rented facility at nearby Pudong District. Every day, Reverend Zhi Xiang gets up at 4 a.m. to feed the animal friends, clean their cages, and provide them with medical treatments. He also goes to the local authorities every two days to save homeless cats and dogs from being euthanized. Despite facing financial difficulties, Reverend Zhi Xiang is determined to continue providing a home for these precious ones and said, “If you don't save them, these little lives will be gone!” Our heartfelt gratitude and Buddha’s infinite blessings, Reverend Master Zhi Xiang, for your noble work. May we always respect and protect all beings, in Heaven’s faithful benevolence. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Gratefully present the Shining World Compassion Award to Reverend Master Zhi Xiang, plus a US$20,000 humble contribution to support your loving and lives-saving efforts. May you, your team and all those you care for be forever showered in Buddha’s love and elevated speedily to a higher status of Bodhisattvahood.”

New tempeh factory to open in the United States.
Maple Leaf Foods from Canada has announced it will purchase an almost 11,000 square-meter facility in Indiana, United States, for approximately US$100 million to help meet the increasing demand for their Lightlife Tempeh products. The plant is expected to be in full operation by the first half of 2022. According to the US-based wellness-focused market research firm SPINS, in 2020 the sale of tempeh, which is made by cooking and fermenting soybeans, grew by almost 39%. Kudos, Maple Leaf Foods, on expanding your vegan protein production. In Celestial upliftment, may more people worldwide choose a life of kindness through the vegan diet.
Gifted dogs have an exceptional ability to learn words.
A recent study by The Family Dog Project research team at Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary involved two clever canines, a Yorkshire terrier named Vicky Nina and a border collie named Whisky. Their ability to learn the name of a new toy upon hearing its name just four times was tested under two different conditions: a social playful context with their caregivers and also by selecting the toy after their guardian just asks for it by name. Results revealed that playing with their caregiver while hearing the name of the toy proved to be the most effective way for the smart dogs to learn the toy’s name. Dr. Ádám Miklósi, co-author of the study, said, “Such rapid learning seems to be similar to the way human children acquire their vocabulary around two to three years of age.” Many thanks, Dr. Ádám Miklósi and all involved in The Family Dog Project, for these fascinating findings! In Heaven’s grace, may we continue to be good caregivers of our intelligent canine friends.
Humor lifts your heart and your spirits. Take a well-deserved break with today’s joke of the day entitled “A Good Book.”
Marina and Nora were talking about books they had read recently.
“I can definitely recommend a good book to you!”
“Oh, can’t wait to hear about it!”
“Yes. I saw a book the other day called, ‘How to Save Money.’ And I got so motivated by reading that title that I decided not to purchase that book so I could save money. How brilliant is that!”
And now we have a heartline from Xiang-Xiang in China:
Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai and Supreme Master TV team:
Thank you for producing wonderful and positive programs to bless the whole world. These programs emanating God’s unconditional and boundless Love for humanity are just like a fresh spring breeze, carrying great blessings. Thank You, Master. I especially enjoy watching the programs about animal protection and rescue. I am greatly encouraged to see so many agencies and organizations around the world overcoming all difficulties to help animals. I also hope to contribute my efforts to rescue animals.
During the Dragon Boat Festival in June 2020, I went back to my hometown in the countryside. While shopping in the market, I passed by a slaughterhouse and saw two horses about to be slaughtered. As I walked up to them, one of the ponies bit my sleeve and didn’t let me go, hoping I could save him. I immediately contacted some caring people to donate money and save the two horses. At that time, many of the people around were moved by the spiritual nature of the ponies. The slaughterhouse owner was also touched and announced on the spot that he would lay down the butcher’s knife, close the slaughterhouse forever and never kill again.
“I promise I won’t kill anymore, and let the two ladies help save the six donkeys. I promised I won’t kill anymore from now on.”
Apart from the two horses, we also saved six donkeys in the slaughterhouse. The owner has now converted his slaughterhouse into a greengrocer’s shop. I’m so happy to see such a change!
Since the end of 2019, I have organized an animal rescue team with many fellow initiates to raise funds for rescuing the animals in slaughterhouses. With our help and persuasion, nearly 10 slaughterhouse owners have repented for their killing sins in the past and declared that they would close their slaughterhouses and never kill again. Thanks to God’s blessings, many misguided souls have returned to the right path in repentance. We pray that God will lead their souls on the way Home. I pray that all animal co-inhabitants on Earth will be treated with loving kindness and live happily in love and dignity. I pray that the Powers of Heavens will always keep Master in excellent health, freedom, and joy, and that the vegan world where humans and animals live in harmony will come soon. Xiang-Xiang from China
Heroic Xiang-Xiang, We are elated to read of the many animal lives that have been saved through your and your team’s brave actions. Your work has successfully convinced those who kill for a living to embrace compassion. We hope all may be motivated to follow such noble examples, and act now to save the animals by being vegan and spreading love and compassion all around our glorious Earth! May the Divine Heavenly Beings protect and guide you and progressive China, Supreme Master TV team
P.S. Master said: “Precious Xiang-Xiang, I am so touched that the horses were saved and that the slaughterhouse owner immediately promised not to kill and eventually turned to selling vegetables! The owner’s change of heart is what I pray for every day to happen worldwide so the ceaseless killing of the animals on our planet for food and other purposes will finally end. My gratitude to your team for convincing additional abattoir operators to stop the violence and embrace love. I am so proud of you, and grateful to God for showing you the way to use your spiritual power from Quan Yin Meditation Practice in action. May Buddha shower you and buoyant China with blessings.”
