I can remember that the Eastern Pure Lapis Lazuli World is where I came from. I didn’t remember it in my childhood. However, I gradually came to realize it through my lifelong spiritual journey in search of the Tao.
During meditation, my soul has been to the Eastern Pure Lapis Lazuli World, which was dignified and magnificent, very similar to its corresponding equivalent, Amitabha’s Western Paradise or “Extreme Bliss Pure Land.” The Western Paradise (Extreme Bliss Pure Land) was all paved with gold, while the Eastern Pure Lapis Lazuli World was paved with diamonds. When I observed closely, the shiny diamonds there looked soft, and seemed to be breathing slowly as if they were alive. They were very elastic, unlike the hard diamonds on Earth. The buildings there were made of transparent and colorful soft diamonds, as well as lapis lazuli, gold, and gemstones. The seven colors of the seven precious substances were extremely splendid, radiant, and crystal-clear. Even the lotus flowers in the Eastern Pure Lapis Lazuli World were all transparent lapis lazuli too, mostly white and pure blue in color. The inhabitants there could travel around on those bright and beautiful lotus flowers.
Also, in the Medicine Buddha’s Pure Lapis Lazuli World, I saw a beautiful and incredible pool of water, the “Miraculous Nine Transformations Pool.” This sky-blue holy waterbody was like a lake, and had functions similar to those of “Eight Merit Water” in the Western Paradise (Extreme Bliss Pure Land). However, since it was the Land of the Medicine Buddha, the water had extraordinary healing powers. It could help fractured bones to re-grow after the person bathed in its waters. The water also could manage illnesses of internal organs, as well as enhance the power of one’s spiritual practice.
The ranking system in the Eastern Pure Lapis Lazuli World was the same as the system in the Western Paradise, consisting of top, middle, and low levels. The Medicine Buddha and King of Lapis Lazuli Light had made 12 grand vows. If anyone, while living, believes in the Medicine Buddha and King of Lapis Lazuli Light, and recites the Name of the Medicine Buddha, he or she can go to that realm after death. After reincarnating to the low level or middle level according to each person’s merits, that person continues practicing to achieve higher levels. The difference between the “low level” and “top level” in the Eastern Pure Lapis Lazuli World was the same as the levels between the Second and the Fifth Realms in the Western Paradise; there was still much room for one to improve by working hard. However, it was guaranteed that the beings there would not suffer, as they had never heard of what “suffering” was.
Just like in the Western Paradise, different Buddhas and Bodhisattvas went to the Eastern Pure Lapis Lazuli World regularly to give lectures to the beings there. Before the Buddha or Bodhisattva arrived, celestial maidens, together with virtuous girls and children, would sprinkle flowers, while beautiful, melodious Heavenly music was played around them. Thereafter, the Buddha or Bodhisattva slowly descended from high above, and sat cross-legged on the thousand-petalled lotus with one hand raised, and began the lecture through vibrating energy. His or Her body emitted very strong Light of five colors to the audience, who upon receiving the vibration, instantly understood what the Buddha or Bodhisattva was conveying, and felt faith-filled and grateful in their heart! When they thoroughly apprehended the teachings, their own heads would emanate the same color of Light as the Buddha’s or Bodhisattva’s, and their vibrating frequencies became the same as well. The beings in the Eastern Pure Lapis Lazuli World all looked forward to these lectures with adoration. The scene of each Buddha and Bodhisattva’s lecture was always so stunning and moving. Whenever a lecture was finished, they saw the Buddha or Bodhisattva off with celestial music, as well as the beautiful Heavenly rain of lapis lazuli flowers and overflowing fragrance. It was like a grand Heavenly concert.
We are grateful for Shakyamuni Buddha’s kind introduction, more than 2,600 years ago, of the Eastern Pure Lapis Lazuli World and the Western Paradise (Extreme Bliss Pure Land) to the public. Thus, beings in the mundane world could have some understanding of Heaven and a simple method of spiritual practice to liberate their souls. However, there are many kinds of Heavens in the Universe. Through our practice with Supreme Master Ching Hai, we can experience incredibly high Heavens, the dazzling golden Light and incomparable Glory of which are impossible to describe with words!
Those who would like to be liberated from this Earthly life and agonizing transmigrations must reverently bear in mind the teachings of Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Be vegan, do good deeds, and practice diligently.” Thus, not only they re-connect with their original compassionate nature while still alive, but they can also pave a grand way to a noble future for their soul!
