In today’s news, Kenya receives financial assistance from European Union, scientists in United States advance gene editing, underwater sculpture in Thailand helps create artificial coral reef, waste-to-energy project in Serbia receives loan disbursements, courageous men rescue stranded goat in India, music icon calls for more vegetarian meals in British schools, and jaguars double their numbers in South American forest.

European Union increases support for Kenya during pandemic.

The European Union, a Shining World Leadership Award for Peace recipient, and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Unconditional World Care and True Caring laureate, has pledged an additional €65 million to programs designed for limiting the spread and impact of COVID-19 in Kenya. The aid package includes direct support to people living in temporary settlements who are especially at risk from lack of income and health services. Funds will also be available as working capital to help small and medium-sized enterprises survive the economic downturn and retain their employees. Additionally, money will be spent on protecting primary trade routes, to ensure delivery of vital supplies, and on strengthening pandemic precautions at the country’s borders and ports. Our delighted appreciation, European Union! May your loving oneness with the people of Kenya be forever cherished, in Heaven’s abiding care!

New way to edit DNA discovered in United States.

Researchers at the University of Washington and the Broad Institute in Massachusetts have combined their expertise to be able to modify genetic information within mitochondria, the “powerhouses” of most cells. Previously, it was only possible to alter the DNA in a cell’s nucleus, because of the protective membranes surrounding the mitochondria. Now, by using a bacterial secretion called DddA, paired with specially crafted enzymes, geneticists can pinpoint and transform specific sequences within mitochondria. This is considered a milestone that may lead to cures for degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s. Outstanding news, United States’ scientists! May your research continue to pave the way for improved health and reduced suffering for people everywhere, in God’s mercy.

Up next, underwater sculpture in Thailand helps create artificial coral reef. We’ll take a moment to appreciate the geodetic surveyors, who measure large areas of the Earth’s surface for construction and engineering projects using aerial observations and satellite-based positioning technology. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more gladdening news.

Good day, elated viewers! I’m Natalie the vegan Nilgiri Marten. Do you want to feel beautiful, light and strong? Then, be vegan! Here’s a computer trick for saving time when using Microsoft Excel. If your spreadsheet includes many photos that you want to delete, press the F5 key to open the “Go To” dialog box. Click the “Special” button for the next panel. Pressing the Delete key will remove all selected photos. Love you so much for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all humans and us all co-inhabitants. Thank you for tuning in, and now for the weather around the globe.

Conservationists restore marine ecosystem in southern Thailand.

In 2018, the nonprofit Global Coralition partnered with local artists on the island of Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand to create a giant sculpture of a woman’s torso weighing 1,800 kilograms. They dedicated it to the sea goddess Māzǔ and deployed it on the ocean floor, surrounded by 36 small pyramids. The installation covers more than 2.5 square kilometers and holds a total of 5,000 coral transplants that have been growing to form an artificial reef. As a follow-up, Global Coralition is now planning to construct a land-based farm where coral can be grown 50 times faster. Our compliments and gratitude, Global Coralition and Thai partners! May your innovative techniques be emulated around the world to heal our planet’s oceans, in the embrace of the Providence.

Public-private partnership begins disbursements for new waste management center in Serbia.

Fifteen kilometers outside the capital city of Belgrade, an unmanaged landfill had been accumulating waste for more than 40 years. In 2017, plans were drawn to rehabilitate the site by creating a waste-to-energy plant, a facility to process demolition debris as well as a modern, sanitary landfill. With the help of private investors, construction began in October 2019 and continued throughout the pandemic precautions of spring 2020. Funds to complete the undertaking are now flowing from a group of lenders that includes the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The project will be compliant with European Union regulations and provide environmental protection for the nearby Danube River. Well done, Serbia and financial facilitators! Your efforts to rejuvenate the Earth will be appreciated for generations to come, in Heavenly splendor.

Animal in a tight spot saved by determined young men.

In Assam, India, a young goat stumbled into an abandoned borehole in the middle of a field. Fortunately, her cries were heard by a group of young men who wanted to help. The rescue began with one of the men diving into the opening, while three others held his legs and one recorded a video. The hole must have been more than two meters deep, but the man who went in managed to reach the goat. When he gave the signal, his friends pulled him out with the frightened kid, who quickly scampered away. The rescue team was overjoyed, as were thousands of viewers after watching the drama on social media. Our hearts are touched, kindhearted youths! May your lives be blessed with all the best for serving as instruments of Divine love.

Coming up, music icon calls for more vegetarian meals in British schools. We are going to check out the latest updates and advice from the World Health Organization and local health authorities on how to keep ourselves and others safe during the pandemic. More pleasant news when we return! Please stay with us here on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News - Giving News for a Selfless World.

Co-founders of Meat Free Monday endorse call for revised School Food Standards in Britain.

In support of a campaign initiated by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), a Shining World Compassion Award recipient, Sir Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney have signed a letter to the Secretary of State for Education. The document argues that the current nutritional guidelines are outdated and should be changed so that individual schools may choose not to serve fish, meat and dairy to students. The legendary singer-songwriter and his daughters issued a statement saying, “No one needs to eat meat, so it shouldn’t be mandatory to serve it in schools. It’s time to revise the School Food Standards to help the planet, spare animals, and promote healthy eating.” Sir Paul McCartney is a Shining World Compassionate Artist Award laureate and Stella McCartney is a Shining World Compassion Award laureate. Our heartfelt gratitude, Sir Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney! Your influential activism adds real impetus to our world’s plant-based transformation, in nurturing Celestial light.

Conservation efforts yield rising jaguar population in South America.

When researchers started using strategically placed cameras in 2005 to track the big cats, there were only several dozen of them in the southwest corner of the Atlantic Forest, which covers parts of Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil. Since then, the World Wildlife Fund, Fundación Vida Silvestre of Argentina and other groups have been working to curb habitat loss and prevent unfortunate interactions with humans. The monitors’ latest figures indicate there are now between 84 and 125 of the felines in the original area, with as many as 200 throughout the entire coastal forest. Although challenges remain, project directors are encouraged by the positive trend and look forward to dissolving the risk of extinction for the species. Thank you, World Wildlife Fund, Fundación Vida Silvestre and all dedicated personnel for your actions to protect the treasured jaguars, in God’s love and wisdom.

Please sit back and relax for an original joke by our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai, entitled “Good Match .”

“How was your blind date last night?”

“Interesting!”

“Tell me.”

“Well, we have a lot in common. First, we both stared at the ceiling, not knowing what to say. Then we both tried to speak at the same time, though the words didn't come out. Then we both kept looking at the watch. Then amazingly, we both spontaneously stood up at the same time, saying: ‘I have a plane to catch.’”

And now we have a heartline from Thomas Huang in Taiwan, also known as Formosa:

Hi, Thank you for operating such a wonderful Internet television channel (SUPREMEMASTERTV.COM), which has enabled viewers to easily see beautiful cultures, architecture, costumes, food, and traditions of different nations in the world.
