In November 2022, German aerospace company Volocopter tested its latest air taxi prototype by transporting a passenger through conventional air space near Paris. This marks a significant milestone for the future of air transportation as multiple companies race to develop and deploy the first fully automated air taxi. The electric aircraft, which resembles a drone with eight rotors, is on track for commercial flight certification within the next 18 months. A tiny home village called Community First, which now shelters 350 formerly homeless people, was created in Austin, United States, and will be expanded to accommodate 1,750 people with a US$150 million investment campaign. Residents of the village pay between US$380 and US$440 per month in rent, and the community features a tiny home hotel, auto shop, amphitheater, jewelry-making station, art studio, and more. The entire complex was designed specially to assist those transitioning from a homeless life. Chinese woman loses an arm saving a young boy’s life.
Ran Tilan, a Chinese woman from Sichuan province, recently saved the life of a two-year-old boy who wandered onto the road in front of an oncoming truck. The woman quickly grabbed the boy and pulled him away from the truck, but was hit herself, with the injury causing her to lose an arm. Brave Ms. Tilan stated, “It’s worth exchanging one arm for a life.” Thank you, Ran Tilan, for saving the life of a boy at the risk of your own. In Australia, there are 13 tech-detection canine-people specially trained to join in efforts to fight against organized crime, terrorism, and child exploitation. Through their sensitive sense of smell, these special staff were trained to identify fire-resistant plastics normally found in technology devices such as USB sticks, memory cards and hard drives. Thanks to their remarkable talent, many cases involving organized crimes and child exploitation were able to be solved, as the sniffer detectives managed to help the Australian Federal Police find these tech devices containing important details needed in those cases.
