While abundant in polar waters, they are spread all over the world. Whether in cold or warm waters, fur seals are perfectly adapted to the sea. They can dive to great depths and for a long span of time. Although fur seals can’t swim as fast as dolphins and whales, they are agiler and able to turn direction much more quickly than dolphins and whales can. Their enlarged lenses allow them to see both in and out of the water. Their vision underwater is even better than that of humans.
