In today’s news, Zimbabwe benefits from pandemic support, France helps underprivileged people in Palestine, German slaughterhouse closed after COVID-19 outbreak detected, Australian researchers find way to make coral more climate resilient, brave Russian taxi driver prevents abduction, fast food chains in China trial vegan meat, and United States capital bans ivory and horn trade.

United States, a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion laureate, assists Zimbabwe in COVID-19 response.

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has donated an additional US$3 million to Zimbabwe, bringing a total of more than US$6 million in US aid to the country towards their pandemic response efforts. Such funds are expected to increase Zimbabwe’s laboratory diagnostic capacity, expand central and district-level surveillance, strengthen vaccine preparedness, plus enhance prevention and control in medical centers. Furthermore, the CDC plans to use an additional US$75,000 from a previously announced AIDS relief fund, towards COVID-19 prevention measures for those living with HIV. Our sincere appreciation, United States. May the virtuous Zimbabwean brothers and sisters take good care as we all pray for Heaven’s grace upon our world.

France provides food support to people in Gaza.

The government of France recently donated €250,000 to the United Nations World Food Programme, which will be used to provide electronic food vouchers to vulnerable, non-refugee Palestinian families in Gaza. Funding will allow 21,560 people to purchase a one-month supply of food in 200 stores throughout the region. The contribution has come at a crucial period as the effects of COVID-19 have increased food insecurity in the area. Thank you, France and the World Food Programme, for your timely assistance. May peace and contentment be showered upon all the beautiful Palestinian people, in Allah’s Love.

Up next, German slaughterhouse closed after COVID-19 outbreak detected. Let’s take a moment to thank the resourceful octopuses, one of whose beneficial roles is to recycle ocean debris like coconut shells and abandoned seashells when making their shelters. We’ll return with more rejuvenating news after this message here on Supreme Master Television.

Hi adorable friends, I am Akina the vegan Krishna Jinka. Have you ever heard of the expression “strong as a bull?” Well, adopt a vegan diet and you can become just that! Today, I would like to share a gardening tip with you. When fertilizing dense shrubs, it’s better to fertilize the base of the plant. To make this easier, you can use a PVC (polyvinyl chloride) pipe as your fertilizing tool. Just cut the top of the pipe at 45 degrees to obtain a larger opening. Then, slide the other end down to the base of the plant and pour the fertilizer into the pipe. Thanks for your attention and love you for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet thus save the world. Now, the global weather.

Authorities close Germany’s largest slaughterhouse after COVID-19 cases detected.

In just one of a series of huge outbreaks reported thus far in meat processing plants around the globe, 1,000-plus employees tested positive for COVID-19 at a major pig abattoir in Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia state. This has prompted Gütersloh district officials to immediately shut down the plant temporarily to safeguard the staff and surrounding public. A quarantine has been mandated for all 6,500 of the slaughterhouse’s workers as well as those they have interacted with. Additionally, area schools and daycare centers have been ordered closed for a period as a precautionary step. We are glad that this outbreak was found in its early stages and appreciate the government’s swift and appropriate measures to protect human health. In God’s mercy, we pray for a soon-in-coming vegan world where all such diseases originating from meat consumption are a thing of the past.

Australian scientists find way to make coral heat-resistant.

Researchers from the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Australia have developed a strain of lab-grown microalgae, that when inserted into coral, can protect it from bleaching due to global warming. Sadly, much of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef has been bleached white from rising sea temperatures and thus unable to support its biodiverse inhabitants. However, the heat-tolerant microalgae were found to communicate with the coral organisms and thus improve the coral’s own heat resilience. Our accolades, CSIRO scientists, for finding a way to save our Earth’s magnificent coral reefs to some extent. In the wisdom of the Providence, may we urgently address climate change and thus allow all precious ocean beings to continue their vital planetary roles.

Russian taxi driver helps save abducted lady.

While on his way to pick up a passenger, taxi driver Dmitry Filin from Moscow, Russia, began receiving urgent messages asking for help from a woman through Yandex.Taxi, the app she had used to order the cab ride. When Mr. Filin arrived at the pickup location and did not see the woman there, he started communicating with her to get more details and immediately called the police. Although the lady did not know her location, emergency services were able to access the GPS on her phone to rescue her and detain her abductors. Brave Dmitry Filin and rescue officers involved, we applaud your quick thinking and heroic actions to save a helpless stranger in need. May God bless you and the lady you aided with peace and happiness.

Coming up, fast food chains in China trial vegan meat option. We’ll pause now to enjoy an ancient Japanese imperial court performance called Gagaku, a UNESCO-inscribed Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Supreme Master Television will return in just a moment with more excellent news.

Vegan Beyond Burger trialed in China.

Major fast food chains Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), and Pizza Hut recently tested out the vegan Beyond Burger in several locations across China. Yum China, the parent company of the restaurant chains in the Chinese market, trialed the product to gauge consumer interest. They expect to utilize customer feedback to optimize flavors. At three Shanghai locations, Taco Bell used the vegan meat as a taco base, while Pizza Hut and KFC released vegan burgers. Commenting on the trial, Joey Wat, CEO of Yum China shared, “We see great potential for the plant-based meat market in China.” Bravo, Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut and Beyond Burger, for diligently bringing forth more vegan options. In Divine Light, may this positive momentum continue as a growing number of people choose the world-saving vegan way.

United States capital bans ivory and horn trade.

The Honorable Muriel Bowser, Mayor of the District of Columbia, has signed the Ivory and Horn Trafficking Prohibition Act of 2020. Championed by lead sponsor and city council member, the Honorable Mary Cheh, the bill prohibits the import, sale or purchase of ivory and rhinoceros horn products. Offenders will face steep fines, jail time, or both. The new ruling was enthusiastically received by animal protection organizations, who stated that it will save many elephants’ and rhinoceroses’ lives and help reverse the alarming decline of their populations. Our deep gratitude, the Honorable Muriel Bowser, the Honorable Mary Cheh, District of Columbia, and all involved. In Heaven’s abiding care, may we soon herald a more humane world that shows only love and respect toward the innocent animals. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Thankfully present the Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion to the District of Columbia, and special thanks to the Honorable Muriel Bowser and the Honorable Mary Cheh, with high salute and gratitude for your wise legislation to help safeguard vulnerable animals. May you and all involved be forever blessed and shielded by God.”
