Do you know how much we animal-people love our humans and fellow animal co-citizens? Words cannot describe it. In this multi-part series, we share some of the most uplifting true stories of heroic animal-individuals who often put their own lives at risk to save humans and citizens of the same or different animal-person species, asking nothing in return.

Our first heroes are kind beaver-folk. […] With no one in sight, the boy began walking to the nearest town for help. However, as the sun set, Rheal realized he wouldn’t make it before nightfall and had to sleep on the cold wet ground until morning. As he lay there cold and crying, he began to feel warm fur nestling around him. He then saw three beaver-people surrounding him with a lifesaving living blanket. That night, the temperature fell below freezing, and the beaver-citizens saved his life. This heroic animal-person story is one of many in Stephanie Laland’s book, “Peaceful Kingdom: Random Acts of Kindness by Animals.”

Our next story confirmed dolphin-people’s high level of empathy and intelligence to a marine biologist and her research team. “Many scientists think dolphins do not save humans because there is not enough hard scientific evidence to support these stories. But that day, I witnessed coastal bottlenose dolphins suddenly leave their feeding activities and head offshore. And in doing so, they led us to save a dying girl, some three miles offshore.”

In another heroic dog-person act, Tyler Revel from Kansas, USA, was awakened by his Pitbull-companion Monroe while taking a nap during a devastating house fire. “I think we got out in the nick of time. I think if she wasn’t there, I wouldn’t have made it out alive.”

One sunny winter day in Sittsville, Ottawa, Haley Moore was on a walk with her canine-friend Clover, when she suddenly suffered a seizure and collapsed. As Haley lay motionless, Clover sprang into action. At first, Clover tried to awaken Ms. Moore. Then, realizing she needed more help, Clover stepped into the road and stopped traffic. “Watching Clover do what she did. Making sure she was taking care of her human sister… she basically put her life on the line for her girl. And that is just mind-blowing… It’s the power of love.” In 2021, upon hearing of these courageous acts, Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) presented Clover with the Shining World Hero Award, plus US$2,000 for vegan treats!
