In Shining World Compassion Award News from the United Kingdom…

Founded just four years ago by Michelle Southern, Street Paws has grown into an award-winning charity that reaches out to help animals whose homeless caregivers cannot meet their loving companions’ needs. With assistance that has expanded to over 300 volunteers in cities across the United Kingdom, Street Paws is able to provide free medical care to the animals, as well as food, coats, collars and leads. “It's all for the animals, because the animals that we treat wouldn't access any veterinary care at all. Even just vaccinations and flea [treatment] and [de]worming, they just wouldn't have access to it. So, it's all for them.”Upon learning of the organization’s benevolent work, our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai offered the Shining World Compassion Award plus “a humble contribution of US$15,000 for extra support toward your noble endeavor, with love, respect and gratitude, in God’s mercy.”

Our Association members in Surrey, England, UK, were pleased to present the Award letter, crystalline plaque, Master’s publications and DVDs, as well as Master’s gift of US$15,000 to Street Paws. “It is with great admiration and gratitude that we present to Street Paws the ‘Shining World Compassion Award’ for nurturing kindness towards animals within the community. This Award is presented in recognition of your benevolent assistance nobly providing free care for animal companions of people experiencing homelessness.” “It’s lovely. Thank you, thank you.” “We would like to thank Supreme Master Ching Hai for the wonderful donation she has made to Street Paws. The money will be used to support homeless animals in the UK through veterinary support in whatever they may need.”

Our joyful congratulations, Michelle and Leah Southern, and the entire Street Paws team. May your caring endeavors continue to assist and bring hope to many cherished animal companions and their human guardians, in the protective care of the Providence. For the full presentation of the Shining World Compassion Award to Street Paws, please tune in to our Shining World Award program at a later date.

Canada bolsters Iraq’s anti-pandemic efforts.

The Canadian government, a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion and Protection laureate, has contributed US$1.85 million to boost Iraq’s collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme to introduce COVID-19 reduction initiatives in 12 governorates. Measures to be implemented include providing personal protective equipment to healthcare staff, adding isolation wards, enhancing laboratories’ testing capacity and developing post-COVID-19 recovery plans. Additionally, US$75,000 will go to furnishing masks, gloves and hand sanitizer to local police involved with COVID-19 relief work, particularly to those serving in the capital of Baghdad. Our appreciation for your nurturing assistance, Canada, and thank you also, the United Nations Development Programme for your lifesaving work. May the fine people of Iraq see ever brighter tomorrows as we work together to create increasing harmony on our planet, in Allah’s compassionate guidance.

Up next, leader of Cambodia promotes food resilience through vegetable growing by citizens. We thank the dedicated volunteer firefighters who go through extensive training and perform the same duties as career firefighters to protect their communities. We’ll be right back with more refreshing news on Supreme Master Television.

Hi, energetic friends, I am Hualing the vegan Hainan Black Crested Gibbon! I have a very good nose because I am vegan, and I can smell that you are vegan too. Wow, isn’t that fabulous? Now you are my buddy. Please always be mindful and make sure you never throw any garbage into a body of water, whether you're taking a boat ride or on a walk along a lake. Encourage the people around you to do the same. Otherwise, trash will accumulate and potentially ruin the local ecosystem. Use area garbage and recycling bins if available, and if not, then take the waste home and dispose of it properly. Thank you for your attention and love you so much for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet thus save the world! Now, the weather around the globe.

Cambodian government promotes vegetable cultivation by public.

In August 2020, the Cambodian prime minister, His Excellency Hun Sen, posted a message on social media that cited the coronavirus pandemic as spurring Cambodian factory workers to grow vegetables at home to feed their families and enhance their incomes. His Excellency has previously encouraged his co-citizens to cultivate vegetables and other crops around their residences as Cambodia’s soil is very fertile. Cambodia produces 400 metric tons of vegetables daily, but requires 500-600 metric tons each day and thus imports US$200 million worth of produce annually. Thank you for the wise recommendation to build agricultural self-sufficiency, Your Excellency Hun Sen, as this action can improve Cambodia’s food resiliency and your fellow Cambodians’ welfare. May growing numbers of people commit to vegan organic farming to revitalize our precious planet as we transition into a golden plant-based era, in Buddha’s mercy.

Uganda supported to enhance access to off-grid solar energy.

France-headquartered energy company ENGIE and the European Investment Bank (EIB) will help make electricity accessible to 1.4 million Ugandans in rural regions not connected to the national power network. The EIB’s US$12.5 million loan will make 240,000 solar home systems available through ENGIE’s subsidiary, Fenix International. The affordably-priced kits will provide households with electricity for mobile phones, lighting, refrigeration, radio, television and cooking while reducing kerosene use. The project is also expected to create new job opportunities for women. EIB Vice President Ambroise Fayolle conveyed, “Unlocking sustainable economic and social development through off-grid solar is key for Africa’s future.” Our gratitude, European Investment Bank, ENGIE, and Fenix International for collaborating to increase the quality of life for Ugandan citizens. In Heaven’s grace, may green technology continue to benefit every corner of our world.

Animal shelter’s senior canine adoptions climb thanks to nine-year-old volunteer.

Robbie Gay’s advocacy at the Flagler Humane Society in Florida, USA, has helped place dozens of elderly dogs with caring families. To date, his family has given a loving forever home to six older canines. Robbie was adopted at age seven by Maria and Charles Gay after experiencing severe abuse and being placed in foster care. Recognizing that younger shelter dogs are typically selected by those wanting an animal companion, Robbie wants to support the older ones, saying: “I know how it feels not to be loved or cared for and I don't want any animal of mine to feel that way.” Maria describes Robbie as, “the most hopeful, optimistic, and genuinely caring kid.” God bless you, Robbie; your kindness touches our hearts. We pray that all our animal friends are lovingly looked after and treasured, in Divine serenity.

Coming up, major automaker selects vegan leather for model’s standard feature. It’s time for us to appreciate the good friends in our lives, and remember to be caring towards others and everyone we meet. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more engaging news. Welcome back to Noteworthy News - Elegant News for a Refined World.

BMW embraces vegan leather for 5-Series cars.

German-headquartered vehicle producer BMW will now use animal-free leather in all 5-Series cars sold in the United States, and most other markets worldwide. The human-made material is called Sensatec leatherette, and is many times more durable than animal-based leather. The switch to synthetic car seats by BMW is part of a broader move towards eco-awareness, as it prepares for the European Union’s goal of carbon-neutrality by 2050. Other changes include switching to electric models, which will see one-quarter of all their European vehicles electric by 2021, and one-third by 2025. Congratulations on adopting such forward-thinking ideals, BMW, to quickly move your company into the vanguard of car production with electric and vegan interior vehicles. May your path to zero carbon and sustainable automobiles help guide the entire car industry towards a future of compassion, in Celestial goodness.

Potentially unknown animal species discovered in Australian waters.

On an expedition conducted by the Schmidt Ocean Institute, an American-based nonprofit supporting oceanographic research, scientists aboard the Falkor vessel discovered up to 30 possibly new aquatic species in the Ningaloo Canyons off Western Australia’s coast. Using an underwater robot, the ROV SuBastian, the research team completed 20 dives at depths of up to 4,500 meters and found incredible beings such as glass sponges, bioluminescent octopus squids, long-tailed sea cucumbers and giant hydroids. Among the unique finds was perhaps the world’s longest animal, a 45-meter in length siphonophore, a deep-sea species made up of small clones that stick together and spread out to form a long-spiraling strip. Thank you, all scientists working with Schmidt Ocean Institute, for helping to advance the frontiers of global marine research. May we continue to implement sustainable practices to help ocean life thrive, in Heaven’s abundant love.

Ready for a good laugh? Here’s the joke of the day entitled “Adhere to Principle.”

Ava had always prided herself on being an “on time” person. One morning, she overslept and rushed around getting ready for Sunday school. As she ran out the door, her husband tried to say something.

“What? Don’t slow me down, I’m late!”

“No, you’re not! It’s Saturday!”

!?

And now we have a heartline from Ritchie Sudarmaji in Indonesia:

Dear Supreme Master Ching Hai, When I was 3 years old, I somehow knew that I was not here to live a normal life (life and death cycle), and I needed to look for someone. When my father was initiated by You, and I saw Your picture, I knew right away that I had found what I had been searching for. I have been initiated since 2006, and even though my life seems full of obstacles and problems, I still feel content and blissful inside, and I still strive hard for opening a vegan eatery and selling vegan foods. I am not attached to my belongings nor problems. I, myself, feel the positive changes, especially after these 12 years of hard work, as people around me are more aware of the vegan lifestyle, eco-lifestyle and spiritual practice; some have even changed to a more positive lifestyle. May we soon see World Peace, World Vegan, and Heaven on Earth materialize. My family and I are most grateful for Your Love and everything that You’ve bestowed on us. May Master always be protected, loved, healthy and given the best assistance for a better and positive world. I wish You all the best. No words can describe how grateful I am to You. Thank You, Love You. Ritchie Sudarmaji from Indonesia

Appreciative Ritchie, Thank you for your note.

Master has a message for you: “Wholehearted Ritchie, it is wonderful how as a young child you recalled your Heavenly connection and have been able to hold onto this in life, through your father, initiation, and practicing the Quan Yin Method. Please continue strongly, so that you can together with our Quan Yin family be the torchbearers for this world. May serenity be within you and may God continue to bless beautiful Indonesia and its loving people with prosperity and inner peace. Love you always.”
