In today’s news, European Union supports education in Jordan, Kyrgyzstan receives funding to address pandemic, renewable energy output rises in United States, Hungarian company develops bacteria mix to breakdown plastic, Indian actor helps migrant workers return home, United Kingdom research finds plant protein consumption leads to superior muscle gain, and specially trained dogs protect wildlife in South Africa.

European Union funds higher education in Jordan.

The EU approved a €15 million grant to provide four-year full scholarships for higher education for 2,245 Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians. Students will have the opportunity to work towards achieving bachelor’s and master’s degrees at universities and colleges in Jordan, as well as have the choice of attending programs including teacher training, vocational education, and summer courses for high school students, among others. The initiative, which also envisions promoting dialogue and connection between Syrian refugees and Jordanian host communities, is backed by nine Jordanian and international educational institutions, including the German Jordanian University at the helm of the project. The European Union is a Shining World Leadership Award for Peace recipient, and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Unconditional World Care and True Caring laureate. Our sincere appreciation, European Union and all involved. May the scholars bless their communities and the world with uplifting contributions, in Allah’s grace.

Asian Development Bank (ADB) supports Kyrgyzstan to deal with COVID-19’s impacts.

The ADB has allocated US$50 million, half as a loan and the remainder in the form of a grant, to help Kyrgyzstan’s government to control the pandemic, enhance social protection for vulnerable citizens, and provide fiscal stimulation to preserve small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as the economy’s productiveness. Focus will also be on enhancing the country’s ability to respond to future emergency situations. The government has identified 1.8 million people across the country as being particularly susceptible to the pandemic, a substantial proportion of whom are women. Social safeguarding measures to benefit girls and women will be implemented, including supporting SMEs employing a significant number of women and providing food aid to households headed by women. Our gratitude, Asian Development Bank, for your assistance programs. May the loving people of Kyrgyzstan be always protected and secure, in the boundless embrace of the Heavens.

Up next, renewable energy output rises in United States. We’d now like to thank the school chaplains who support the wellbeing of young people in their times of stress by lending a listening ear and caring presence. Please stay for more empowering news on Supreme Master Television.

Hi selfless friends, it’s me, Melati the vegan Celebes Crested Macaque! Be a gorgeous and radiant environmental hero. Be vegan! Here is a safety tip for you. To prevent your children from slipping during bathing or showering, you can place non-slip bathmats or non-slip stickers in the bathtub or shower. Many of these mats are self-adhesive or adhere to the floor through suction cups to reduce slippage. In addition, you can also put a sponge or a thick towel around the faucet to prevent your child from getting hurt if he or she bumps into it. Thank you for tuning in, and much love for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all of us humans and all co-inhabitants alike. Now, the weather around the world!

Record set for renewable power production in the United States.

From March 25, 2020, onward for 40 days straight, sustainable power from solar, wind and hydropower in the US generated more electricity than coal. In 2019, there were only 38 days in the entire year when renewables outpowered coal, and in the month of April of last year, 19 such days. The unprecedented generation was due to multiple factors including the increased renewable capacity that has been installed, coal’s high prices relative to other sources, decreased demand due to COVID-19, and more. Our salute, United States, for your fast transition to renewable energy production. May your grand nation continue its rapid conversion to eco-practices as your industries adopt green power and your citizens embrace the vegan diet.

Hungarian startup creates bacterial mix to digest plastic.

Poliloop has developed a mix of four bacteria that can digest plastic, including non-recyclable varieties. The company’s website states: “Our mission is to provide an eco-friendly and scalable answer to the crisis, so that plastic will no longer be a threat to the habitants of the earth.” Their invention was recognized as Startup of the Year in the recent sixth PowerUp! competition sponsored by sustainable energy innovation supporter InnoEnergy, which included 425 businesses in 24 countries from Central and Eastern Europe. Congratulations on your recognition, Poliloop, and thank you for helping to find a way to clean and restore our beautiful planet. May your discovery soon lead the way to the recycling of all plastics, as every nation and business quickly moves closer to a circular economy.

Bollywood actor proves he is a real hero.

Popular Indian actor Sonu Sood hired buses and arranged the necessary permits that enabled at least 57,000 migrant workers to be transported back to their homes after they became jobless and stranded in Mumbai, due to the COVID-19 lockdown in India. Mr. Sood explained, “Migrant workers have helped build our roads, homes and offices. We cannot stand and watch them be homeless.” In addition, Mr. Sood and his team currently provide food and water to at least 45,000 people daily. The caring actor has also opened his family-owned Shakti Sagar Hotel in Juhu, Mumbai to shelter doctors and frontline health staff, as well as set up a toll-free number for people needing help. Speaking of his efforts, Mr. Sood said, “God is making it happen, and we have been chosen as tools. There are miles to go and the journey will continue.” May the Divine bless you, Sonu Sood. Count us among your many fans! Your love in action gives inspiration for a Heaven on Earth, in Celestial jubilation. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Thankfully present the Shining World Compassion Award to Sonu Sood, with much love, high esteem and gratitude for your generous heart, in Divine love. May Heaven shine on you and all those you help.”

Up next on Noteworthy News, United Kingdom research finds plant protein consumption leads to superior muscle gain. We’ll pause for a moment to pray for the safety of undercover animal rights investigators who put themselves at risk to help people know the truth and make compassionate lifestyle changes. We’ll return with more praiseworthy news on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News - Inspirational News for a Beautiful World.

Study shows vegan protein more effective at building muscle.

A new study by the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom has revealed that mycoprotein, a type of vegan protein derived from fungus, is two times more effective at building muscle than milk protein. The study looked at 20 people who go to the gym; those who took milk protein increased muscle growth by 60%, whereas those taking mycoprotein achieved more than double this figure. Mycoprotein is high in protein and also fiber, and is commonly found in vegan meat products from the veg Quorn company. Many thanks, University of Exeter, for highlighting the immense muscle growing capabilities of mycoprotein. In Heaven’s benevolence, may your research help propel vegan proteins to be the number one choice for all athletes and others wishing to become stronger and healthier.

Specially trained dogs safeguard wildlife in South Africa.

The Southern African Wildlife College patrol has seen a success rate of 68% to help them protect wildlife from poachers when using the trained dogs, compared to between three and five percent without the canines. The reason for the great success is due to the dogs’ exceptional smelling and hearing abilities, as well as their speed. So far, thanks to the new helpers, 45 rhinos have been saved since the program began in February 2018. Our heartfelt thank you and praises, Southern African Wildlife College patrol and your heroic canine team. May your presence in South Africa soon help to completely stop poaching so all animals may inhabit their rightful homes in peace, in God’s love. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Gladly present the Shining World Hero Award to the Southern African Wildlife College canine patrol, plus a loving gift of US$10,000 for vegan treats for the courageous dogs, with lots of love, praises and high fives. May God always watch over and protect you and your team, in Heaven’s grace.”

How about a joke of the day to bring out a smile? This one’s called “New Faces.”

Welcome to the plastic surgery addiction support group. I see a lot of new faces in the room.

Oh, we are the same people, Doctor.

And now we have a heartline from Yuan-Yang in China:

Dear Supreme Master TV team, I really enjoy your TV programs, especially the “Surangama Sutra” explained by Supreme Master Ching Hai. I had copied some of the Buddha’s sutras for over 10 years, but I didn’t understand at all what they meant. Supreme Master Ching Hai's explanation of the Surangama Sutra is so concise, understandable and fascinating! This is a very precious and rare interpretation in our world. Supreme Master Ching Hai also reminded us not to be greedy for anything outside that only binds us into an endless game. One wrong move and you’ll be punished! Our real living is within us! Every time I hear this, I feel saddened to tears. Because of our attachment to this illusory world, we have wasted so much precious time! I will always bear in mind the teachings of Supreme Master Ching Hai and practice diligently to search for my real realm inside! Much love and gratitude to Supreme Master Ching Hai and the Supreme Master Television team! Yuan-Yang from China

Dear Yuan-Yang, Thank you for writing to convey your love and appreciation of Supreme Master Ching Hai and Supreme Master TV. As you so beautifully write, Master relates the treasured sutra in a fashion that greatly aids our understanding of the Buddha’s teachings. It is truly a blessing and our world is fortunate to have Master deliver such precious lectures on topics like the Surangama Sutra. Master once said, “We should not like or desire anything of this world. If we do then we would cling on to it. Our hearts should not be attached to anything.” Buddha’s eternal love to you and friendly China, Supreme Master TV team

P.S. Master has a reply for you: “Diligent Yuan-Yang, so glad you now have an enlightened understanding of the sutras. Please do continue your spiritual practice with full focus on going Home. May the Buddhas take good care of you and harmonious China.”

We welcome your heartlines, stories and or cute, loving animal clips. Please send them via SupremeMasterTV.com/heartline
