Love knows no boundaries, and on this Valentine’s Day, we invite you to celebrate the many facets of love with partners, family, friends, and animal-people companions alike.

PART 1: The Heart of Valentine’s Day

Legend has it that Saint Valentine’s Day originated in the 3rd century with a Roman Catholic priest and saint named Valentine. […] One version of the story has it that, while in jail, Valentine paid worship to the Almighty with the jailer’s daughter, who was blind. His faith also moved the jailer so much that he became a Christian. On his day of execution – February 14, 270 AD – Saint Valentine wrote a note to the jailer’s daughter, signing off with, “From your Valentine.” Emerging from these classical origins, Valentine’s Day has evolved into a worldwide celebration of love.

PART 2: Love Around the World

If you lived in Japan, you’d see that Valentine’s Day isn’t just for romantic partners. Women traditionally express their affection by giving gifts to men, friends, and family. It’s a day to celebrate all forms of love and gratitude. If you lived in the Philippines, then you could benefit from a romantic and highly practical amenity on Valentine’s Day, when many local governments of towns and cities across the country generously provide wedding ceremonies free of charge, often including a wedding banquet and venue. Some cultures associate Saint Valentine with springtime. For example, in Slovenia, Saint Valentine is one of the patron saints of spring, and it is thought that February 14 is the day plants begin to regenerate and bird-people propose to their loved ones and marry.

PART 3: The Language of Love in Verse and Song

Now, let’s dive into a timeless language of love – poetry and music. From classic sonnets to time-honored ballads, the expressions of love have echoed through the ages. Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18, often referred to as “‘Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?’” captures the essence of enduring love. These verses stand as a testament to the timelessness of love’s beauty. As we immerse ourselves in the melodic embrace of love, let’s remember some iconic tunes that have become anthems for lovers worldwide. From “Can’t Help Falling in Love” to “I Will Always Love You,” […]

Let’s now listen to an excerpt from our Most Beloved of all, Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan), as She reveals the true essence of love at the premiere of the musical “The Real Love.” “Love is not a word on our lips, love must be our feeling inside, and action translated outside. Love the animal-people, we’ll be veg (vegan). Love the Earth, we’ll go green. Love the world, save the planet.”

PART 4: Love Beyond Boundaries

As we come full circle in our celebration of love, let’s not forget our furry and feathered friends who join the festivities with unbridled joy.
