Speaking of flying, that brings me to the cute nickname you all have given my kind. While our scientific genus name is grimpoteuthis, the nickname we have most popularly come to be known as is the “Dumbo octopus.” That name is based on the fictional character “Dumbo” from the 1941 animated Disney film of the same name. Humans should consider us octopuses as royalty as well, for we too have blue blood! Scientists already known that we octopuses are quite smart. They know we can find our way through mazes, figure out problems, and even remember the solutions to those problems.
