That’s why I use two methods; I give you both. Normally, people teach only meditation on the (inner Heavenly) Light. (Yes.) You have to concentrate very hard to be able to hear the (inner Heavenly) Sound. Understand? (Yes.) But over here, you’re helped with everything. (Yes, yes.) Even if you can’t concentrate, concentration is done for you. That’s why you can hear a bit of the (inner Heavenly) Sound. (So, I…) It’s so that you can be saved. Otherwise, to develop enough concentration to listen to the (inner Heavenly) Sound, you’d have to practice many lifetimes.

Wait a minute back there because she was before you. (Master Ching Hai, I’d like to ask about the Quan Yin Method. Can there be a period of time between meditating on the [inner Heavenly] Sound and on the Voice?) On the Sound and on the…? (The Voice.) Meditating on the Voice? (Oh, no! On the [inner Heavenly] Light. I’m sorry. On the [inner Heavenly] Light. Because I’m a bit nervous seeing Master.) Maybe my outfit makes you nervous. Let me tell you, there’s nothing to be nervous about. (Like, for example, when I was learning the Quan Yin Method just now, I was told to do the [inner Heavenly] Light meditation first, then do the [inner Heavenly] Sound meditation.) Right.

(Can there be an interval of several hours between the [inner Heavenly] Light and Sound meditations?) You can do that too. Of course, you can do the (inner Heavenly) Light meditation alone and then the (inner Heavenly) Sound meditation alone. But because we don’t recite the Five Holy Names during the Sound Meditation, you should first repeat the Five Holy Names for a while to concentrate your mind. You need to protect your own magnetic field from being disturbed by evil spirits or any other negative forces. Then, you do the (inner Heavenly) Sound meditation. It’s better that way. (OK.) That’s all.

It’s not that after the Sound meditation, immediately do the Light meditation. I mean, after the (inner Heavenly) Light meditation, and then immediately do the (inner Heavenly) Sound meditation. I also got nervous seeing you. (OK.) You understand now? (OK. Thank You, Master.) The Five Buddhas’ Names or the Five Holy Names, can help us to cleanse the negative influences around us, making it easier to concentrate. So, you first recite the Five Holy Names before you do the (inner Heavenly) Sound meditation then the Sound will be louder, and your concentration will be better. For about 10 to 20 minutes, then do the Sound meditation.

(Master, when reciting the Five Buddhas’ Names, is a particular Buddha’s Name perhaps effective for certain bad things or…) You mean, each Buddha is different, right? No. You have to recite them together. All together.

The woman in the front. (May I ask Master…) Speak up, so that they can translate. (OK. Master, sometimes my work involves the use of proprietary Chinese medicines and some of them contain animal[-people] ingredients.) Animal(-people). Understand. (Can I use them to treat patients?) If you don’t, they’ll sue you. They’ll say, “Why didn’t you give me this medicine?” As a pharmacist or a traditional Chinese doctor, they’ll sue you if you don’t give it to them. You just do your duty. It’s not that you want to kill to make money for yourself or to satisfy your appetite for eating or drinking. (So, it’s OK as long as we don’t eat them ourselves?) Don’t eat and don’t give it to initiates as well. (OK.) You can suggest an alternative. You may advise your patients, saying, “There’s another kind that doesn’t have any animal(-people) ingredients. It’s also effective, and it reduces the killing karma as well. If you’d like, I’ll prescribe it for you.” For example, something like that. (Thank You, Master.) You’re welcome.

Here. (Can I ask in German?) Can. Ah, Yes. Yes. (I am being treated homeopathically by a traditional homeopath, and want to ask whether the medications I take have an influence on my meditation. And I know here are also remedies in homeopathy that are made from animal[-people].) Yes, yes. (So, they are diluted into very high potencies, and what about taking such medicines after initiation?) I just answered that with this woman. (I didn’t… I’m sorry… I didn’t get that.) Why didn’t you get it? (I don’t know…) Did everyone hear it? Yes? Of course. You were sleeping.

(The problem is that I often don’t know what I’m getting in terms of remedies. For example, I don’t know whether it is from an animal[-person]. Well, except these…) Then you have to ask. Normally everything must be… The ingredients must be listed in full. It is German law. No? (No, in homeopathy, there is no declaration; there are only potencies and…) Then you could ask the sources – if you can. In homeopathy, are there also ingredients from animal(-people)? (No, not... well, those are simply potencies. So, in principle, there is no material… nothing material from any animal[-person] is still present, but rather the essence, which is spiritual.) Spiritual? (Yes.) How can you take an animal(-person) spirit and then put it in the medicine? (No, so in homeopathy, it is said that it’s an essence, meaning the principle of what that animal[-person] embodies, which is left over. So, strictly speaking, nothing from animal[-people] is contained in the essence. Therefore, the question.)

Extract from animal(-people), right? (Yes, but merely as an idea.) An idea only? (The information, yes.) Now, I’m a bit… (Yes, that is the principle of homeopathy.) Homeopathy is something like that? You mean, extract from… For example, it’s not ginseng, right? Ginseng. A whole piece, and then one extracts from it, as essence. (Yes, and that becomes… this essence will be increasingly diluted, continuously poured and mixed, and the higher one…) Nevertheless, you could still have animal(-people) essence, but very little. (Not any longer, really... materially, no more. Only the idea or how does one say… the intuition of this… is left. And that is the question, whether I can take this or not. Because purely materially, nothing is there anymore.) (...like a playground...) (Yes.) Vibration is still there. This world is too complicated for me. Let’s think about what one should do. If you don’t know, then there’s nothing you can do about it. (Yes.) But if you know something, then you avoid it, (Yes.) especially if you are giving it to initiates. Then you have to think about which ones come from animal(-people). (Yes, that is clear.) OK? (Yes.) So complicated… because of medicine.

You want? No. Anyone else? (Master, after coming here, I don’t see any [inner Heavenly] Light. What should I do? What am I supposed to do?) Continue to meditate. (There’s only the [inner Heavenly] Sound. I can’t see the [inner Heavenly] Light.) You’ve got the (inner Heavenly) Sound? (Yes.) OK, OK, better than nothing. You’re blind, but at least not deaf. Continue concentrating. Concentrate more. What’s your job? (I’m unemployed. I’m studying, not working yet.) Studying. (I used to work at a restaurant, but not anymore.) Maybe you’re a little less focused.

(That’s why I don’t understand. So, two and a half hours is not enough for me. I increased, but it’s the same. Nothing’s changed.) It’s alright. It’s OK. From what I see, you’re not bad. (Thank You, Master.) It’s not that you’re not sincere. You’re just kind of busy, and the mind is busy with the school stuff.

(There’s still a little problem. It’s my own problem. I’m slow in learning everything. I wonder why. Or does it have to do with my previous lives?) Slow to react? (Very slow to react, yes.) Then you need to go practice kung fu. When you’re under attack, your reactions will be very fast. It’s alright. You were born like that; just let it be. Some people are more developed in the mind. Frequently, they are more exposed to worldly work, so their reactions are faster. Perhaps you were a monk before and didn’t do much. Every day like this… reciting mantras. So, you are less aware of things It’s alright. Why do you need to be so fast? We have to leave sooner or later anyway. Fast or slow, it’s all the same as long as you make enough for a living. (Thank You, Master.) You’re welcome. No need to hurry. (Because I’m slow, that’s why I have to learn.) I know, I know. You’re alright the way you are. Everyone’s personality is different. It has nothing to do with spiritual practice. It’s OK as long as you can hear the (inner Heavenly) Sound. Later, after you finish studying, you’ll be more relaxed, and it’ll be easier. But when you sleep at night, Master is helping you.

(May I ask Master, it’s…) How come all Chinese? It’s all Chinese. (During the [inner Heavenly] Light meditation, I concentrate on the wisdom eye, but on the other hand, I need to recite the Five Holy Names. Suppose I can’t do both at the same time. For example, when I concentrate on the wisdom eye, then I forget to recite the Five Holy Names. And when I pay attention to reciting the Five Holy Names, then I forget to focus on the wisdom eye. Then, at that time, which one should I choose if I can only do one?) You need to practice. You don’t need to recite the Five Holy Names that often. You concentrate and recite one every now and then. What’s the importance of saying a Name every few minutes? You might get possessed if you don’t. (If I am able to concentrate on the wisdom eye and recite the Five Holy Names but in a kind of unconscious way, meaning not from my heart, is that OK?) Yes. Just recite it inside. If you remember it, that means you have it in your heart. (OK. Thank You.) Or else you’d forget it, right? (Thank You, Master.)

These questions of yours are not problems at all. After practicing for a while, you can answer them. In fact, I think… But it’s alright. Ask if you want to. I mean that you will understand those questions later yourself. Those weren’t big deal questions. After you’ve practiced and reached a higher level, you’ll wonder: “Is it unusual to see this or hear that? What are these things?” Then you’ll ask more interesting questions. Now it’s all your mind struggling. It’s senseless, boring, low-level intelligence trying to show off. “What’s that? A physical sound or a spiritual sound?”

I might give this up. Because if I sit over there, you can’t see me. If I sit there, nobody can see me. So, I sit here. I sit here; there are flowers and all that. Just pull it over a little bit. Thank you.
