The Revered Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva: Vowing Eons of Selfless Sacrifice, Part 1 of 2

For eons, a courageous, faithful spiritual practitioner has sacrificed Himself in order to save all suffering souls. He is His Divine Grace Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, also known as the beloved Earth Store Bodhisattva, who selflessly made the Great Vow to delay His Buddhahood untill all the hells have been empited. That is , the Bodhisattva stores countless seeds just like the Earth. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was asked to spread Dharma by Shakyamuni Buddha in Trayastrimsa Heaven, and He is responsible for the edification and salvation of all beings in the six worlds, from Heaven to hell, between the death of Gautama Buddha and the rise of Maitreya Buddha, the future Buddha. He would not attain Buddhahood untill He frees all the beings in the six realms, especially those in hell.
