In today’s news, UNICEF assists Pyongyang in healthcare, research calls for greater protection of ecosystems to reduce zoonotic diseases, adoption of emissions-free trucks to accelerate in United States, New Zealand makes strides in gender equality, quick-acting police officers save toddler’s life, plant-based food consumption soars in Germany, and animal welfare group launches spay-and-neuter program in Gaza.

Pyongyang receives medical aid during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The United Nations, a Shining World Leadership for Lives-Saving-Hero Award laureate, has granted a sanctions waiver that will allow the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to assist the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in treating malaria and tuberculosis. This support is worth nearly US$760,000, and will include necessary and essential medical equipment such as oxygen concentrators, patient ventilators, and resuscitation kits. In hopes of reducing the impact of COVID-19 on malaria and tuberculosis patients, the waiver will be in effect until July 2021. Our appreciation, United Nations and UNICEF, for providing valuable support to the citizens of Pyongyang during this urgent time. May everyone around the world take precautions and be vegan to stay healthier, in Heaven’s loving protection.

Study reveals increased risk of zoonotic diseases when natural ecosystems are destroyed.

Researchers at University College London in the United Kingdom have found that the likelihood for animals to carry disease-causing pathogens increases when habitats have been disrupted and occupied by humans. The study, published in the science journal Nature, analyzed 184 current and existing studies of 6,801 ecological communities on six continents. It found that human disturbance of wild ecosystems often eliminated larger species, thereby enabling the survival of the smaller, adaptable species, which tend to harbor more pathogens that can be passed to humans. The scientists stated that dangerous interactions “between people, livestock and wildlife reservoirs of zoonotic disease” are being created by worldwide changes in wild land being converted into intensive farmlands and urban areas. Thank you, University College London researchers, for the valuable information. In Divine benediction, we pray for the protection of our world’s natural environments, first and foremost through the end of animal livestock raising, to prevent future epidemics and ensure harmony among all species.

Up next, adoption of emissions-free trucks to accelerate in United States. We thank the intelligent futurists, who analyze facts to identify trends and explore future possibilities to help companies and other organizations make better decisions. When we return, more admirable news ahead, here on Supreme Master Television!

Good day, smart viewers, it’s Hee-Haw the vegan Donkey. Looking for the best healthy diet and lifestyle? Look no further and become vegan! I have a tip for your loving dog companion. If your furry friend drools often, you can clean up the drool marks around the house easily by mixing together this eco- and animal-friendly blend. Start by filling up a bucket using three portions of hot water and one portion of vinegar. Then add in a few drops of mild dish soap. When the cleaning solution is ready, simply apply the solution to the spots using a cloth or sponge, then dry the area using a clean, dry rag. To prevent these stains, it is a good idea to set a large mat under your friend’s feeding area or in areas where they frequently drool. Thank you for your attention, and lots of love for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all humans and us all co-inhabitants. Now it’s time for the worldwide weather.

United States, a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion laureate, expands electric vehicle adoption.

The Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Task Force, jointly upheld by 15 states and the US capital of Washington, D.C., has signed a memorandum of understanding to quicken the conversion of electric vehicles across the medium-to-large-size vehicle market. To coordinate these efforts, the Northeast States for Coordinated Air Use Management, a nonprofit association of air quality agencies, will create an action plan, which includes reaching 30% Electric Vehicle (EV) sales by 2030, along with 100% EV sales by 2050 for pickup and delivery trucks, and school and public transportation buses, among other heavy-duty vehicles. Such goals help address air pollution issues and build up a green economy. Great job and many thanks, ZEV Task Force and participating regions, for the much-needed clean air initiatives! May the global EV industry continue to blossom innovatively in Heaven’s grace.

New Zealand unanimously passes new law to ensure same pay for women and men.

New Zealand’s government recently passed an Equal Pay Amendment Bill to ensure that men and women working different jobs but of the same value, will receive equal pay. Enhancing its 1972 equal pay legislation, employees can now raise pay equity claims for inadequate salary, with the government encouraging collaborative mediation. Prime Minister Her Excellency Jacinda Ardern expressed her gratitude in fulfilling the government’s “promise to create a more equitable Aotearoa (the Māori name for New Zealand)…” New Zealand is a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion and Peace recipient, and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Earth Conservation, Earth Protection, Earth Guardian, Climate-Change Mitigation and Earth Restoration laureate. Way to go, New Zealand and Your Excellency Jacinda Ardern, on your fair and just law, ensuring greater equality for the women and men of your nation. May your world-leading legislation be emulated globally, in Celestial radiance.

Police officers save the life of a three-year-old girl.

Officers Kyle Skipper and Robert Lindblom from the Pensacola Police Department in Florida, United States saved the life of a three-year-old girl who was found in a swimming pool unconscious, not breathing, and with no pulse. After the officers performed emergency CPR, the child’s heart started beating again as she regained consciousness. The toddler was rushed to the hospital and has since completely recovered. Fortunately, the policemen happened to be in the area and were thus able to arrive at the location quickly. Officer Lindblom stated, “Whether it was fate or divine intervention or just luck, I’m glad we were there.” Caring Officers Kyle Skipper and Robert Lindblom, we are so touched by your quick and precise efforts that saved the young girl’s life. May all police officers be blessed by the Providence for their life’s dedication to protecting others. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Gratefully present the Shining World Hero Award to Officers Kyle Skipper and Robert Lindblom, with all love, gratitude and high regard for your caring spirit. May Heaven bless and shield you always in God’s grace.”

Coming up, plant-based food consumption soars in Germany. We pause now to appreciate the God-given uniqueness of every individual, including ourselves! You’re watching Noteworthy News on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Leading News for a Progressive World.

Germans turn to veg food during COVID-19.

According to the German Federal Statistical Office, sales for vegetarian and vegan products in Germany increased by 37% in the first quarter of 2020, compared to the same time period in 2019. This rise meant a boost in plant-based sales to 20,000 metric tons, up from last year’s 14,700 metric tons. Analysts report that the remarkable growth is related to changing consumer preferences owing to the pandemic, as people look for healthful options. Moreover, slaughterhouses in the nation and elsewhere have been identified as the sources of numerous COVID-19 infections – a fact that continues to add to demand for plant-based alternatives. What heartening news, Germany. The wise vegan choices of your intelligent citizens make you a leader on the path to a more hygienic and safer future, in God’s mercy.

Animal welfare group launches spay-and-neuter program in Gaza.

Nonprofit Sulala Society for Animals Care, founded in 2006, has introduced a sterilization initiative to manage the population of homeless felines and canines in Gaza city, Palestine. In accordance with Islam’s teachings of kindness towards animals, founder Saeed Al-Err secured a fatwa, or religious ruling, decreeing that the procedure is a humane solution to the growing population of vulnerable animals living homeless. Local authorities also support the initiative as it promotes public health and safety. Sulala Society’s newly built shelter currently cares for an estimated 200 canines and felines, many of which are injured or living with disabilities. We are overcome with gratitude, Mr. Al-Err, Sulala Society for Animals Care, and all benevolent authorities of Gaza. May we always be loving guardians of all sentient animals, as we follow the compassionate path of Allah.

We found a joke for you. If you don’t laugh, it will make us sad. So please try. It’s entitled “Good Enough.”

On his way out of the vegan grocery store, Steve was asked by the cashier: “Would you like the oat milk in a bag, sir?”

“No, just leave it in the carton, please.”
