I have a health tip for you today. Be sure to steer clear of the following poisonous mushrooms: Destroying angel, Death cap, False parasol, Deadly galerina, Jack-o’-lantern, Sulphur tuft, and Earthball mushrooms. What makes it tricky is that many edible species closely resemble toxic ones that only a specialist can identify one from the other. Familiarize yourself with the various forms of mushrooms at different stages of development, in addition to their edible look-alikes. If you don’t recognize a certain species, double-check them carefully, particularly looking out for a similar poisonous variety. If you have any doubt, consult an expert or toss it out. You should not consume raw wild fungi as some are poisonous if eaten raw. Examples of these include Amanita rubescens, Wood blewit, the Blusher, Lepista nuda, or the species of Helvella.
We just checked our giggle mailbox and noticed the following joke. Let's take a look. It's entitled, “A Funny Story.”
“Hi, Judy! I have a funny story. Do you want to hear it?”
“Oh, I love funny stories! Please tell me.”
“There was a businessman who started his business by selling salt. In the first month, he bought one bag of salt, about 20 kilograms. In the second month, he bought another bag of salt. Then, in the third month, he bought another bag…”
“I don’t get it. I am not finding it funny because your story is so boring.”
“Boring? Don’t you think three bags of salt is salty enough?”
