In the northern state of Alaska, United States, the Chugach people still call this area home. In fact, scientists trace the Chugach lineage beginning some four to seven thousand years ago! To survive and thrive in a climate that can see temperatures plummet to -50° F(-45.6° C) proves their incredible resiliency, ingenuity and connection to Mother Earth. Core values in the Chugach community such as kindness, generosity, acceptance, patience, and respect for their elders, healers, and shamans. Modern day Chugach peoples maintain the cultural values of their traditional lifestyle.
