Children and adults alike love to get creative, and one of the best ways to do that is through origami. Origami, which translates to folding paper, isn’t just about making folds, it’s about unlocking our imagination, relaxing, and even learning about geometry and math. Origami began long ago in ancient China, where paper was first invented. Origami became an important part of Japanese culture, especially around the 17th century. From creating simple animal-people to highly detailed shapes, origami evolved into a cherished tradition in Japan.

Each time we fold and crease the paper, we need to focus and concentrate, helping us forget our worries and bringing us to a peaceful place. Origami isn’t just about relaxing, it’s also a workout for our brains! Another benefit of origami is that it improves our hand skills and coordination. But that’s not all, origami lets us be creative and show who we are. Through the act of making cool paper shapes, origami has also influenced design and architecture. Designers can create remarkable furniture inspired by origami techniques. It’s fascinating how origami can transform flat paper into 3D objects that are functional and visually appealing. When we fold paper, we learn about shapes, patterns, and spatial reasoning. Now it’s time to put what we’ve learned into practice and unleash our creativity. Are you ready to fold a piece of paper into a useful bookmark? Follow along with our demonstration to create one.
