From 1995 to 2018, Cambodia’s economy has enjoyed an annual growth rate of 8%, making it one of the fastest growing economies in the world, thanks to robust garment exports and a prosperous tourist trade. Cambodia also protects its natural resources. Veganism is also rising in Cambodia. In the capital city Phnom Penh alone, we have 59 vegetarian-friendly restaurants. In 2018, Cameroon and its neighboring country Equatorial Guinea reopened their shared border, following a period of unrest. Trade has immediately improved and businesses of all sizes have received the benefits. The government is also helping rural farmers to gain more skills to earn extra income while saving precious forests. In 2019, Canada became the 160th member of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Also, the eastern Canadian province of Nova Scotia granted almost 6,000 immigrants permanent residency status in 2018. A new study from Dalhousie University finds that over 2.3 million Canadians, or nearly 10% of the population, consider themselves vegetarian or vegan. That makes Canada one of the most compassionate countries in the world.
