On Rosh Hashanah, Jews commemorate the creation of the world and their responsibilities as God’s chosen people. It is a time for introspection, reflection, prayers, repentance, and self-improvement. Rosh Hashanah is a two-day celebration filled with symbolic foods called simanim, prayers, and creative rituals. There are beautiful and meaningful prayers recited during Rosh Hashanah. God’s rule over humanity and our need to serve God are emphasized time and time again over the course of the holiday.
