In today’s news, Sweden helps increase social safety in Yemen, Japanese scientists find ozone effective against coronavirus, growing number of Europeans adopt electric vehicles, improved toxic metal test for food and water developed in South Africa, young boy saves toddler from drowning in United Kingdom, school district in California, USA adds plant-based protein to menu, and surfers rescue dog stranded in remote cave on Canadian island.

Sweden increases support of vulnerable women and girls in Yemen.

The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) contributed an additional US$3.1 million to aid the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in bolstering protection services for the most vulnerable women and girls in Yemen, especially during COVID-19. The funding will be used to establish five new safe shelters, increase the number of districts assisting women’s protection from 60 to 84, and empower more women with economic and livelihood-supporting activities. Since 2017, Sida has contributed almost US$10 million towards UNFPA’s programs in Yemen, helping hundreds of thousands of women and girls in need. Many thanks, Sweden, for your altruistic support to Yemeni citizens. Our appreciation also, UNFPA, for your vital work. May timely care and kindness reach all in times of need as our world becomes evermore imbued with Divine compassion.

Japanese scientists determine safe method to deactivate coronavirus in the air.

Researchers from Japan’s Fujita Health University have found that low concentrations of ozone can be effective at disinfecting enclosed areas such as hospital waiting rooms. At a concentration of 0.05 to 0.1 parts per million, the ozone was found to deactivate over 90% of coronavirus when exposed to these levels for ten hours. The low levels of ozone are considered safe for humans and can be used in hospitals and other indoor areas to help mitigate the spread of the virus. Ozone generators have already been installed in patient rooms and waiting areas in Fujita Health University Hospital. Our gratitude, Fujita Health University researchers, for your work in helping to protect people’s health. May we strive to safeguard one another and flourish into a robust, benevolent society, in Heaven’s glory.

Up next, growing number of Europeans adopt electric vehicles. We’ll take a little time to thank the knowledgeable fashion merchandisers, who make sure the right products are displayed at the right time for customers’ pleasant shopping experience. When we return, more assuring news ahead, here on Supreme Master Television!

Hi happy friends, it’s Esther the vegan Eastern Bongo! Who is watching my tip of the day? Oh, I know, my lovely vegan friends. How lovely you and I have become since we switched to a vegan diet! My friends say I am so adorable as a vegan and they follow suit. Now we are all soo adorable that everyone loves to hang out with us. Here is a hygiene tip for you… Make it a habit to disinfect your door handles at the end of each day. Door handles are constantly used and touched by everyone in the household. Therefore, unwanted bacteria can also dwell there, potentially transferring to people who come into contact with it. Use an antibacterial cleaning agent containing over 60% of alcohol content to increase the odds of eliminating viruses. This is especially important in times of a pandemic. Stay safe, friends! Big love for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all humans and us all co-inhabitants! And thank you for tuning in. Now the weather around our beautiful globe.

Europe takes major strides in electric vehicle (EV) sales.

Europe reached a milestone in the first half of 2020 by selling 500,000 plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles, showing a 34% increase in electric vehicle sales compared to last year. The surge is attributed to automakers creating many new models to help meet the European Union’s Euro 7 CO2 emissions reductions targets. Large subsidies for purchases of EVs are also offered in many major European markets. For automakers not reaching the Euro 7 emissions reductions goals, a penalty of €95 for every gram per kilometer of CO2 over the limit, multiplied by the number of cars sold, will be applied. The EU is a Shining World Leadership Award for Peace recipient and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Unconditional World Care and True Caring laureate, Fantastic news, Europe! May the fast-moving conversion to green vehicles and your environmentally- conscious laws help your magnificent nations to thrive, in Celestial radiance.

New method developed to test for heavy metals in food and water.

South Africa’s University of Johannesburg researchers have developed a more efficient and sensitive procedure to test for heavy metals in food and water, in which a variety of compounds can be analyzed at the same time. It is also accessible to scientists in developing countries as the procedure’s required equipment is readily available in laboratories. Metals such as lead, cadmium, arsenic and others can be detected after food or water samples are liquefied and concentrated using extraction methods, and then chemically analyzed. Wonderful news, University of Johannesburg scientists, on developing a highly accessible method to determine the safety of the world’s food and water. May all nations soon use such innovations to help ensure the wellness of their citizens, in Heaven’s goodwill.

Courageous pre-teen rescues toddler from the sea.

Eleven-year-old Eli Harrison of Staithes in North Yorkshire, England, unhesitatingly jumped into the sea from a pier to save a small child floating far from the shore after Eli’s family spotted the youngster. The young rescuer had to swim around small boats to reach the child, and brought him back with one arm around his stomach. When praised for his heroic rescue, Eli, a skilled swimmer, said, “I did what anyone else would have done.” The rescued little boy recovered completely from his ordeal. In the future, Eli would like to become a lifeboat volunteer. We are so happy the little boy has recovered. God bless you, Eli Harrison, for your heroic life-saving action. May your selfless bravery be an inspiration to many to emulate, in the love of the Providence. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Gladly present the Shining World Hero Award to Eli Harrison, with lots of love, gratitude and praises. May God bless you abundantly for your courageous spirit and caring heart.”

Coming up, school district in California, USA adds plant-based protein to menu. We’ll pause a moment to pray that God will forgive our wrongdoings. You’re watching Noteworthy News on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Exceptional News for an Outstanding World.

Vegan chicken nuggets added to lunch program in California, United States school district.

As part of its effort to offer healthy and sustainable meals, the San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) in Northern California has partnered with US startup Rebellyous Foods to put vegan chicken nuggets on its latest menu. The popular plant-based nuggets will be packaged and distributed to families as children continue at-home learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rebellyous Foods’ mission is to create affordable plant-based products for the food-service sector and to design machinery to help other vegan companies increase their production. SRVUSD’s Director of Child Nutrition and Warehouse, Miguel Villarreal stated, “Providing our schoolkids healthier options that are good for the planet shouldn’t be hard. In fact, it should be the standard.” Our appreciation, San Ramon Valley Unified School District and Rebellyous Foods. Your collaboration means more delicious, healthful, plant-based meals that also promote a benign climate in God’s blessing.

Surfers rescue dog stranded in remote cave on Canadian island.

Surfers Matty Johnson and Zach Regan were recently in a boat when they spotted a dog stranded by a cave in a remote region of Vancouver Island. Using a surfboard and wetsuit to navigate into the coastal terrain, they were able to bring the dog into their boat, dry her, wrap her in a life jacket, and feed her. When they returned home, with the help of Lesli Steeves of Canadian nonprofit Reuniting Owners with Animals Missing, her caregivers were located. They had been hiking on the Juan de Fuca Trail to celebrate their honeymoon three months earlier with their dog companion Stella, when she was separated from them. The couple, who had searched for Stella for five days before heading back home, were overjoyed to be reunited. Heaven’s blessings, Matty Johnson and Zach Regan, for your heroic rescue, and Lesli Steeves, for facilitating lovely Stella’s reunion with her family. May courageous Stella live many safe and happy years with her human companions, in Divine bliss.

Laughter is truly the best medicine, and it’s free, so here’s a joke for today called “Clueless.”

“My girlfriend isn’t talking to me because apparently, I ruined her birthday.”

“But what did you do?”

“Not sure how I did that... I didn’t even know it was her birthday!”

And now we have a heartline from Mây Trắng in Âu Lạc, also known as Vietnam:

Dearest Supreme Master Ching Hai and Supreme Master Television team, I would like to express my feelings through Supreme Master Television. I admire and respect Supreme Master Ching Hai and sister Phương Thanh whom I have never met for helping me to change to be a vegan. I was inspired and painted her from a picture, but because I never learned how to draw, I could not express all of her beauty, kindness, and compassion. Through her poems, she connected me with Master and Supreme Master Television, and later on, I found out that she is Your disciple.

I always thought that animals were created to be food for humans. If I didn’t meet sister Thanh, I would probably still live in ignorance. Her spiritual poems such as “Who Am I?” “The Prayer” and other spiritual poems, in general, woke me up. Since that day, my life has changed; I became vegan and learned to love and cherish our animal friends more. Due to my admiration of her benevolent way of life, I wanted to follow her compassionate path. And that urged me to explore Your teachings diligently. Whenever I have spare time, I watch Supreme Master Television, which enlightened me more. Nowadays, inside my mind, including when I eat or sleep, there is only Your wonderful teachings, so I have no free time to think of anything else. I am longing to be initiated so that I can walk with You on the path of compassion and kindness in order to help bring happiness to all sentient beings, and to be liberated from the cycle of birth and death. Once again, I would like to wish You good health, safety and long life! I wish the Supreme Master Television to have more and more programs. My respect, gratefulness, and admiration to You! Mây Trắng from Âu Lạc (Vietnam)

Inspiring Mây Trắng, Thank you for your thoughtful words. We are touched to hear that you have found new aspirations in life and have become vegan. May those noble ideals bring you many steps closer to finding your Original Self. Wishing Buddha’s endless grace be with you and uplifting Âu Lạc (Vietnam), Supreme Master TV team

P.S. Master says: “Gentle Mây Trắng, though you have never learned painting, yours radiates Love and heartfelt original beauty, we love it! Thanks for sharing. My appreciation for your love and devotion, and I am sure God knows your heart as well. May you be guided by Hirm on the path of enlightenment and I pray you and poetic Âu Lạc (Vietnam) are always safe in Hiers loving embrace.”
