In today’s news, United States provides humanitarian aid to Uganda. India records largest number of Earth’s hottest cities during severe heat wave, Egypt strengthens national mental health care services, Germany supports Uzbekistan’s green economy initiatives, amateur choir in Serbia fosters joy and community spirit, Australian physicians promote more vegan foods at major retailer, and more than 60 dog companions rescued from animal-people raising facilities in United States.

Indoor and outdoor, I’m always ferreting around for smart tips to help your plants. I’d like to share a humidifying tip with you. A pebble tray is an easy and effective way to increase humidity around your houseplants. Simply fill a water-tight tray with pebbles, then add water so it sits just below the top of the stones, and set your plant pot on top. This keeps the roots out of the water while allowing moisture to evaporate around the plant, creating a more humid environment. Tropical plants such as ferns, peace lilies, monstera, and orchids especially benefit from this added humidity, particularly if they are showing signs of dryness like brown leaf edges or curling leaves. To keep humidity levels consistent, check the water in the tray regularly and refill it as needed. Water tends to evaporate more quickly during warmer weather or throughout the summer months, so you may need to monitor levels more often during these times.

You’re just 10 seconds away from a hearty laugh with today’s joke of the day titled, “The Memory Linking Method.”

Two elderly men, Zack and Jose, were chatting over their morning coffee.

“Jose, you wouldn't believe the memory school I went to last month. It was fantastic! I can remember names, dates, and faces perfectly now.”

“That’s amazing! What was the name of the school?”

Zack scratched his head and thought for a long time.

“Wait... what’s the name of that flower? You know, the red one with thorns on the stem?”

“A rose?”

“Yes, that’s it!”

He then turned and yelled toward the kitchen:

“Rose! What was the name of that memory school I went to?”

?!

And now we have a heartline in Mandarin Chinese, with multiple-language subtitles, from Zhi-Hua in China
