An Experience in Cosmic Consciousness: Selections from Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda, Part 1 of 2

Since its first publication in 1944, the book “Autobiography of a Yogi” has inspired countless Truth seekers around the world. In particular, it was through this book, originally written in English, that many Westerners were introduced to the teachings of meditation and Kriya Yoga. The autobiography contains the exceptional life story of the renowned Indian yogi and enlightened Master Paramahansa Yogananda, who was born in 1893. “What one does not trouble to find within will not be discovered by transporting the body hither and yon. As soon as the devotee is willing to go even to the ends of the earth for spiritual enlightenment, his guru appears nearby.” “An oceanic joy broke upon calm endless shores of my soul. The Spirit of God, I realized, is exhaustless Bliss; His body is countless tissues of light.”

Prophecy of the Golden Age Part 79 - Zoroastrian Prophecies about Saoshyant, Earth's Final Savior

In Zadspram’s anthology, Saoshyant, with His Heavenly assistants, will awaken humanity to the sin of eating animals. “And it is revealed that at the end, Ardwahisht (‘best truth,’ a high-ranking god) will come to earth with the powerful help of Airyaman (god of health and healing)… to find a means of overcoming Az (demon of greed), and he (Ardwahisht) will show to creatures that the SLAUGHTER OF THE VARYING KINDS OF LIVESTOCK ANIMALS IS A GRIEVOUS SIN and that the profit therefrom is small…” This reminds us of Supreme Master Ching Hai's revelation on February 6, 2020, that She had summoned Heaven to help humans turn away from killing animals and become vegan, lending Her powerful help for Heaven to do so. “I said, ‘You [Heaven] must stop this. Do something! Take all my power if you have to and stop all this. Change minds, change hearts. Do something.’ Because the animals suffer so much. God cannot bear that. I’m talking to those who are responsible for killing animals for profit. I’m sorry, I don’t mince my words anymore. They are the ones to be blamed. And if they don’t wake up now and change their way of life to be more benevolent, and repent, then Heaven will not relent.”

The Life of Lord Mahavira: The Birth of Dharma-Chakravarti, Part 1 of 5, June 22, 2019

But, you see, the seer, the fortune teller, told the royalty that, "Maharaj! As such, all the signs and circumstances point at that fact that your son, the benefactor of mankind, will be a Dharma-Chakravarti." Wow! What a Being! Not born yet, and so much praise, so much position, high standard, already predicted about Him. Now it's His birth, coming. They describe His birth. "It was springtime and the nature was in full bloom. The atmosphere was clean and pure. Cool and fragrant breeze infused joy in every particle of the nature. In the soundless quietude of the midnight, the sky was fluorescent with milky moonlight." "At that auspicious moment, mother Trishla gave birth to a divine Child." "The Child was the embodiment of divine Light. As soon as He was born, the world was filled with radiant Light. It appeared as if, to behold this divine Light, even the blind were blessed with eyes." "All the three worlds (Heaven, Earth and hell) were filled with waves of happiness. With the birth of the Child, the whole atmosphere underwent a strange change for quite some time." "Hearing the news of the birth of Lord Mahavir Swami..." "All the inhabitants of the dimensions of gods danced with joy." "At dawn, a maid named Priyamvada rushed to King Siddhartha and announced..."

A Jubilant Celebration of Supreme Master Ching Hai Day, Part 4 of 4

I wrote some more. “Dear all US presidents and governors and government representatives who honored me on that day and gave us this Day to celebrate and in other occasions as well. I thank you for the recognition, but my donation, which was my duty, or anything else I do good for the world or to any being, it was considered by myself as my duty anyway. And I’m always grateful to God for the chance, for the opportunity, for the fortune to be able to do these good deeds. I know surely, it’s not because of my donation; because your country is rich and powerful, and surely many others would be willing and happy to contribute much more to your government, or your citizens, or your country, for any cause, any time. My contribution was so humble, so little, compared to that. But I think it is God who had spoken through your pure faith and humility of heart. And I thank God through you, but I thank you also. May God bestow upon you honor manifold.” I thank all worldwide well wishes as well, and enjoyable performances today, as extra.

Jewish Scholar Asa Keisar’s True Vegan World Revolution, Part 2 of 3

Jewish Scholar Asa Keisar’s True Vegan World Revolution, Part 2 of 3

Today, Mr. Asa Keisar readily elaborates on the Holy Torah’s requirement of justice for the animals. “About tza’ar ba’alei chayim (suffering of living creatures), it’s not only for the animals. First, it’s for us. Why? Because if we make suffering for the animal, when we eat, we take bad energy. And this energy makes us angry, makes us not good, not only in the spirit, but even in the body. When the Torah said, ‘Don’t steal from people,’ She doesn’t mean only for the people that you make something bad. You make something bad for you, for your soul, if you steal. All the scholars in Judaism say that there’s no difference in the tza’ar, in the suffering between the animals and human beings. Because the reason is not the intelligence, it’s common sense. And all the animals feel hot and cold, and all kinds of suffering. This is evidence. And Judaism is right 100% in the Book. You know something about kashrut (Jewish dietary laws), if you make suffering for the animals, its not kosher (permitted foods for kashrut).”

Taoist Teachings from the Book of Lieh Tzu, Part 4 of 4, Sep 17 & Oct 1, 1995

Taoist Teachings from the Book of Lieh Tzu, Part 4 of 4, Sep 17 & Oct 1, 1995

Maybe Guan Zhong practiced Taoism. How could a high ranking official of a country speak like this, and teach others to indulge in food, drinking and pleasure, and do whatever they wanted? Why did he say that? It's because when he was speaking, he knew what he was talking about. He also knew that his audience was at a very high spiritual level, and understood him. Now he further explained to Yan Ping-Zhong how to indulge in food, drink and pleasure. He said, "If your ears want to listen to music but can't listen, it's like restricting your hearing organ and controlling it. If your eyes like to see beautiful things and you don't allow them to, your visual organ is controlled. If our mind wants to let go and relax but has no way of doing so, we are controlling our mind. To control these organs or senses is to act like tyrants..." Do you all understand? Now that we already understand, we need to take another step to open up and liberate our thoughts. Don't be bound by society too much. We should rely on our intuition and our wisdom. We can do anything, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone, as long as it benefits ourselves and others, and makes us happy, because we practice spiritually to be happy.

Taoist Teachings from the Book of Lieh Tzu, Part 3 of 4, Sep 17 & Oct 1, 1995

Let's take a look at the health concepts of the ancient people. There was a person called Yang Zhu, probably from the same period as Lieh Tzu. He thought there were four reasons that humans could not be at peace. And they are: One, greed for longevity. Two, greed for name and fame. Three, greed for taste, probably for food. Four, greed for money. He thought these people tried to evade nature. If we follow our destiny, we don't need to seek longevity. If we don't care about power, then we won't seek for social status. If we don't care about wealth, then we won't seek to become rich or pay much attention to money. "These people," Yang Zhu said, "live according to nature. In this world nothing can be compared with them." In the Qi State, Guan Zhong was very famous. One time, there was a person called Yan Ping-Zhong. He asked Guan Zhong how to live a healthy life. Guan Zhong said, "Relax and do whatever you want to do." Maybe Guan Zhong practiced Taoism. Just look at his big heart, his ability to bring peace to the world, and his gentle and tactful way of dealing with king. Only someone who practices spiritually can do it.

Jewish Scholar Asa Keisar’s True Vegan World Revolution, Part 1 of 3

The respected Asa Keisar is an Israeli religious scholar who’s on a mission of spreading veganism all across Israel and the world. His speeches feature statements from the Holy Torah about the incorrectness of consuming animal products, especially in our modern world. Another example of his duly gained recognition is a sincere letter he received from the President of Israel, His Excellency Reuven “Ruvi” Rivlin, who called Asa Keisar’s work “nothing less than a true revolution.” Through this interview, we’ll learn more about Asa Keisar’s noble efforts as he clarifies how the most essential holy Jewish texts have always been pointing to the right way of treating our animal co-inhabitants, namely with compassion and respect. “I make the connection between the Judaism and veganism. I wrote a book about this subject. The name of the book in Hebrew is ‘Velifnei Iver Hashalem,’ ‘In Front of the Blind.’ ‘The blind,’ the meaning is the people, something like the blind – we don’t know what’s happening to the animals, about what the Torah says, about the tza’ar ba’alei chayim (suffering of living creatures) and all of these subjects. This is a passage from the Bible.”

The Life of Lord Mahavira: The 16 Great Dreams of Queen Trishala, Mother of Mahavira, Part 1 of 3, June 22, 2019

I'm going to give you a very, very extraordinary story. One of the greatest Saints on our planet, Lord Mahavira. Here, we begin from the birth of Lord Mahavira. He's the most compassionate, one of the most compassionate, Saints and Masters of our era, I mean, our kalpa, our period of time. At that time, so many Masters were coming and going. Buddha was also around this time. It must have been a very spiritually enriched era of our time. “About 2594 years ago...” “During the period of Lord Parshvanath, the feudal system of rule prevailed in India. However, the beginnings of the democratic system had started appearing on the political scene.” “After His Nirvana, Maharaji Chetak, a strong follower of the Parshva Tradition, was the president of the Vaishali Republic and the federation.” “In the Jain literature, Maharaji Chetak has been mentioned as Videgraj; his sister, Trishla, as Videhdinna.” So, that means they had a long lineage. They came from a long lineage of royalty and famous families of that time. They introduced that, so that we would see, maybe, with such good energy, good atmosphere, that breed the ground that bloomed the blessing of a great Saint to come.

Prophecy of the Golden Age Part 78 - Zoroastrian Prophecies about Saoshyant, Earth's Final Savior

“Ahriman (“evil thought”) will lose the battle as Vohuman (“good thought”) will overcome it. Falsehood will lose as the Truth will overcome it. The evil-doing Ahriman will flee, becoming powerless.” “Afterwards, Ahura Mazda seizes on the evil spirit! …He sets the vault into which the evil spirit fled, in that (purifying molten) metal…” In late 2018 and in 2019, Supreme Master Ching Hai spoke before the assembly on several occasions about Her intentions to eradicate the maya. Then, on November 24, 2019, came the incredible news. 14:12) “And now, the negative force is gone, the maya is gone, locked in hell forever, at least for now, long, long, long, long, long, long time. Locked. But don't thank me. I am just the commander-in-chief. Thanks all the Godses, all the Universal Beings, Who put all Their power together; otherwise, it won't work. And They're all jumping and the whole universe, endless of beings that you cannot even see how many. And they're just jumping and crying, happy, very much.” Wow!!! Only a most special, most powerful Savior could make a world free of maya finally come true, and also shoulder the colossal task of Frashegird, Earth's total renovation.

And to be of service to others, especially giving to those in need - like being there for loved ones, visiting and contributing to animal shelters, etc., and recognizing Master in every being to whom I am blessed to offer love and support.” “Supreme Master Ching Hai Day to me, is a day of gratitude to Supreme Master Ching Hai for imparting such a wonderful method that takes care of every situation in my life, and makes me feel like I’m walking on air with daily miracles and wonders. I do my best to treat everyone as if they are Master, to remind them that they are worthy and noble, regardless of their situation and stature, which will hopefully awaken their true purpose of searching for the Kingdom of God within themselves - which is Supreme Master Ching Hai’s wish for all of us.”

Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations: Selection from Book 4, Part 2 of 2

Founding his beliefs on the teachings of Stoicism, the Roman emperor was also diligent in finding his own way of self-improvement. This 12-volume work has been revered by many other philosophers over the centuries and is praised as a real testament to a government of duty and service. We now continue with excerpts from the personal reflective notes of Marcus Aurelius in Book 4 of “Meditations.” “What is ‘eternal’ fame? Emptiness. Then what should we work for? Only this: proper understanding; unselfish action; truthful speech. A resolve to accept whatever happens as necessary and familiar, flowing like water from that same source and spring. Everything [is] transitory – the knower and the known. Constant awareness that everything is born from change. The knowledge that there is nothing nature loves more than to alter what exists and make new things like it.”

Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations: Selection from Book 4, Part 1 of 2

Marcus Aurelius was a Roman emperor of the 2nd century, also known as the last of the Five Good Emperors, after Nerva, Trajan, Hadrian, and Antoninus Pius. Marcus Aurelius wrote personal notes and ideas on Stoic philosophy and spirituality as a source of guidance for himself. These notes, originally written in medieval Greek, formed a collection titled “Meditations.” Today we’ll read a segment from Marcus Aurelius’ “Meditations,” in which a very practical wisdom is simply put for everyone to understand and benefit from. “No random actions, none not based on underlying principles. People try to get away from it all – to the country, to the beach, to the mountains. You always wish that you could too. Which is idiotic: you can get away from it anytime you like. By going within. Nowhere you can go is more peaceful - more free of interruptions - than your own soul.”

From Hinduism’s Holy Vedas: Hymns of the Samaveda, First Part, Book I, Chapter I

Hinduism is believed to be one of the oldest living religions on Earth. The earliest Hindu spiritual text, the Rig Veda, was complied in approximately 900 B.C. Other sacred Hindu scriptures include the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Ramayana, among others. One of the most cherished values of Hinduism is “ahimsa,” or non-violence born of respect for all life. We now invite you to listen to an excerpt from Hinduism’s sacred text, the Samaveda, First Part, Book 1, Chapter I. “O Agni, bring us radiant light to be our mighty sustenance, for thou art our visible deity!” To thee, illuminer of night, O Agni, day by day with prayer, bringing thee reverence, we come. Agni is head and height of heaven, the master of the earth is he; he quickens the waters’ seed. Agni, the Sage, the Lord of Strength, hath moved around the sacred gifts, giving the offeror precious things. His heralds bear him up aloft, the God who knows all that lives, the Sun, that all may look on him. Praise Agni in the sacrifice, the Sage whose holy laws are true, the God who drives grief away.”

“Now we have 23 Buddhas left, for the time being. How rare it is! In the whole world, and only in our group. And I told you, appearance really deceives. You wouldn’t guess that the lay persons I pointed out are Buddhas, no? They couldn’t even guess it themselves, which is good, because the ego and the bad habits are our enemies. And if he even knows about it, oh, it would be “inflated.” It’d be much, much trouble.” “Oh, it seems just like a number, like one level, two levels, three levels, but, oh dear God, if you don’t have a Master, and if you’re really sincere and work all your might and energy, day and night for many hundreds of lifetimes, maybe you advance one level. One low level! The higher levels, it’s more difficult. It’s more vast and more difficult. It’s not a number. It’s a vastness, it’s a big universe!” “So many prophecies were supposed to be true, but I changed it. The world was supposed to be kaput in 2000, I changed it. I promised you it’d still be here. Because I’m here to change. I am here to change.”

Even attachment to husband and wife is also attachment.” “If you have just little bit of arrogance, sometimes you are in a high position in society, and it’s very difficult to be humble. You don’t have to be if you are a Buddha. But to your superior, you should be. Otherwise, you are lost very quick!” “Anything, anything could affect you - your personality, your background, your education, your job, your associations, your friends, before you met me. Everything makes an impact on you, and you are in a square box. So, enlightenment lifts your soul up, but your personality, you have to retrain it to fit a saintly person.” “The whole universe is watching what you're doing. Anything you do bad to me, just even a little bit, a little feel proud, arrogant towards me. Even if I forgive you or I don’t scold you or I don’t care about that, it’s still bad for you.”

Selection from “Language,” an Essay by Ralph Waldo Emerson (vegetarian)

Ralph Waldo Emerson was a renowned 19th-century American essayist, philosopher, lecturer, poet, and a leader of the transcendental philosophical movement. Emerson is most famous for his essays, through which he expresses ideas of freedom, spirituality, individuality, the great ability of humans to realize almost everything, and the relationship between the soul and the surrounding world. The essay “Nature” emphasizes the spirituality of nature, which he referred to as the “Universal Being,” and the human-nature connection. “Man is conscious of a universal soul within or behind his individual life, wherein, as in a firmament, the natures of Justice, Truth, Love, Freedom, arise and shine. This universal soul, he calls Reason: it is not mine, or thine, or his, but we are its; we are its property and men. Spirit is the Creator. Spirit hath life in itself. And man in all ages and countries, embodies it in his language, as the Father.”

From the Book of Mormon: Excerpts from the Book of Moroni – Chapters 1-7, Part 2 of 2

Through Divine assistance, Joseph Smith was able to translate the Book of Mormon into English. Along with the Holy Bible, it remains an important scripture to the millions of Mormon faithful around the world. We now continue with Chapter 7 from The Book of Mormon’s “Book of Moroni,” with its wise elaborations about hope, faith, and pure-heartedness. “Therefore, if a man have faith he must have hope; for without faith there cannot be any hope. And again, behold I say unto you that he cannot have faith and hope, save he shall be meek, and lowly of heart.” “And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. …Therefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail - But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoever is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.”
