Since its first publication in 1944, the book “Autobiography of a Yogi” has inspired countless Truth seekers around the world. In particular, it was through this book, originally written in English, that many Westerners were introduced to the teachings of meditation and Kriya Yoga. The autobiography contains the exceptional life story of the renowned Indian yogi and enlightened Master Paramahansa Yogananda, who was born in 1893. “What one does not trouble to find within will not be discovered by transporting the body hither and yon. As soon as the devotee is willing to go even to the ends of the earth for spiritual enlightenment, his guru appears nearby.” “An oceanic joy broke upon calm endless shores of my soul. The Spirit of God, I realized, is exhaustless Bliss; His body is countless tissues of light.”

His Holiness Marpa Lotsawa (vegetarian): Remarkable Tibetan Buddhist Master, Part 3 of 4

One of Marpa Lotsawa’s principle disciples was Milarepa, who became one of the most well-known and beloved of the Tibetan saints. Before becoming Marpa’s disciple, Milarepa had committed many negative actions. He knew that He needed to practice Dharma in order to atone for His past sins and attain Buddhahood. So, Milarepa was sent to Drowolung in southern Tibet to train with Marpa Lotsawa. The night before Milarepa got to Marpa’s house, both Marpa and His wife Dagmema had dreams that foretold of Milarepa’s arrival. “For several years, He seemingly made sure Milarepa went through many difficult tests. Later, His Master explained to Him, ‘I did that to clean You up. If it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t have done all that.’” Finally, Master Marpa gave Milarepa initiation and the secret oral instructions of the teachings.

Prophecy of the Golden Age Part 74 - Zoroastrian Prophecies about Saoshyant, Earth's Final Savior (Zoroastrianism)

Today, we will begin exploring Golden Age prophecies from one of the world’s oldest surviving religions, Zoroastrianism, telling us about the Savior, descending from Lord Zoroaster’s lineage, who would come to end all suffering and renew our world. According to another Zoroastrian text, the Bundahishn, the end time’s difficult trial would culminate with a comet called Gochihr, that would strike the earth. “Then all men will pass into that melted metal and will become pure; when one is righteous, then it seems to him just as though he walks continuously in warm milk; but when wicked, then it seems to him in such manner as though, in the world, he walks continuously in melted metal.” “This planet, there are many good people, so if you, the Karma god, wants to eliminate the bad ones, then just take them only and leave all the good ones here. You can’t just punish the whole planet for a handful few. And that’s why sometimes it’s kind of rushing, rushing. The war broke out and stuff like that. It looks like man-made, but it’s not. It’s the Cosmic Power that causes all this happen to purify the planet.”

Master the Mind to Fully Manifest Buddha Nature, Part 2 of 3 Mar. 3, 2005

The Buddha is easy to train, the mind is not. So, it’s not every practitioner that is picked by Heaven to be a Master. It’s very difficult for a person who has grown up, became a Buddha, and also be obedient at the same time. Because, he’s not used to it! He became already a family man, and everybody in the family already listens to him. He is used to just telling everybody what to do, and then he doesn’t know what it’s like to listen. It’s very difficult to train your mind. I don’t care if you are a Buddha or not. It’s easier for me sometimes to use a non-Buddha. That’s why. I don’t ask you anything more. Very, very small things! And I really am happy if you do it. So, everything you do in life, do not think that it is a small thing. You just do your small things perfectly, and the world is perfect. Because, the world is made up of all these small particles of things.

Master the Mind to Fully Manifest Buddha Nature, Part 1 of 3 Mar. 3, 2005

Even if you are high level, you have to train your mind. Understand this? You’re high level because of God’s grace. It’s not necessarily always your merit. The mind, it’s never gone to the Fifth Level, understand? Can never! So, it’s not just that you have some billions of points, you become Buddhas, and that’s that. You have to remember to refine your character and to train your mind to be efficient in every way possible, and to direct the mind always into service, unconditional love. The soul is OK already. The soul, I take care. Now, you have to take care of your mind, your character, your heart, because it’s possible that even though you’ve become a Buddha, but your mind has stood still for a while, rusty, and you forget to be vigilant. To be Master of the mind.

“Prayers and Meditations” by Bahá'u'lláh (vegetarian): Sections 16 to 23, Part 2 of 2

The Arabic word Bahá means “glory” or “splendor.” The Bahá’i Faith rests on three main concepts, also known as the “three onenesses”: unity of God, unity of religion, and unity of humankind. These concepts emphasize that while the names for God as well as religions, and cultures may differ, all are equal and ultimately united as one. “Praised be Thou, O Lord my God! I am Thy servant and the son of Thy servant. I have set my face towards Thy Cause, believing in Thy oneness, acknowledging Thy unity, recognizing Thy sovereignty and the power of Thy might, and confessing the greatness of Thy majesty and glory. I ask Thee, by Thy name through which the Heaven was cleft asunder, and the Earth was split in two, and the mountains were crushed, not to withhold from me the breezes of Thy mercy which have been wafted in Thy days, nor to suffer me to be far removed from the shores of Thy nearness and bounty. I am he who is sore athirst, O my Lord! Give me to drink of the living waters of Thy grace.”

A Warm Gathering with Working Staff, Part 2 of 2 May 1, 2019

I’ve told you many times. Many people said to me: “If I knew Master earlier, I wouldn’t have gotten married.” However, many still got married after they were initiated. They believe in their karma more than they believe in me. What can I do? Life after life, we have incurred lots of karma and tied a lot of affinities, especially with enemies; we always run into our enemies. It’s strange. They come even if you don’t want them. If you really don’t want them, they are even keener to come; it’s very troublesome. We are born free, so why bother? Before I became a renunciate, I talked to a Buddhist monk. He was very good at predicting the future. He said, “You will become higher and brighter than Your so-called masters.” At that time, I just laughed. I was only almost thirty, and a housewife. Not that I didn’t respect him, but I thought he was joking. It was many decades later, that I realized how terrific he was.

“Prayers and Meditations” by Bahá'u'lláh (vegetarian): Sections 16 to 23, Part 1 of 2

Born in 1817 in Tehran, Persia, or present-day Iran, Bahá’u’lláh was the enlightened Prophet and founder of the Bahá’I Faith. He and His teachings are believed to be prophesied in Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and other religions. Today, we present to you a selection from “Prayers and Meditations” by Bahá’u’lláh. “Praise be to Thee, O Lord my God! Thou see my tears and lamentations, and hear my sighing, my cries and bitter wailing. Shield us, then, O my God, from the mischief of Thine enemies, and assist us to help Thy Faith, and to protect Thy Cause, and to celebrate Thy glory. Thou art, truly, He Who from everlasting hath inhabited the inaccessible heights of His unity, and will continue to remain the same for ever and ever. Nothing whatsoever escapes Thy knowledge, nor is there anything that can frustrate Thee. No God is there beside Thee, the Almighty, the Ever-Faithful, the Most Exalted, the All-Glorious, the Best-Beloved. Lauded and glorified art Thou, in Whose hand is the empire of all things!”

A Warm Gathering with Working Staff, Part 1 of 2 May 1, 2019

Just chat, chat, chat with the workers. They have been working very hard. Because if there are too many people, then they cannot come in. they just stand next to the fence somewhere waiting, waving. So, today, I let them be the first. I’ve never known one Iranian to have doubts about the Quan Yin Method. It’s absolute for them, because they’re brought up in this kind of teaching and they understand. Just because they didn’t know there are Masters. If they know that there is a Master who can give them the (inner Heavenly) Sound, oh, immediately and no doubts ever. Because they already know that. The system is like that. When a human is born, he’s already bound by tradition or by the established religion, so it’s very difficult for him to find the True Path. If he’s not being bound by social tradition, then, and even if he wants to seek the Truth, he will be bound by religious custom and all that, and a lot of work, a lot of work, and then he’ll be lost in those rituals and traditions, and he will not be able to find the real religion.

Selections from My Religion by Leo Tolstoy (vegetarian): Chapter II, Part 2 of 2

Tolstoy illuminated the principle that true Christian doctrine is against violent retaliation and that we should instead do good in return for evil. Forgive not once, but endlessly. Love your enemies and be good to those who dislike you. Tolstoy also highlighted that Jesus’ primary message was to be truly human, to rise to a higher level and be born into the new life of the spirit. By embracing the higher law of love, we will be able to break the cycle of violence. We should like to share an insightful excerpt from Chapter Ⅱ of “My Religion.” “The command, ‘Resist not evil,’ is the central point of Jesus’ doctrine. It is not a mere verbal affirmation; it is a rule whose practice is obligatory. When we regard it as a command impossible of performance, the value of the entire doctrine is lost. When we declare that one may be a Christian without observing the commandment, ‘Resist not evil,’ we simply leave out the connecting link which transmits the force of the doctrine of Jesus into action.”

Buddhist Stories: Wish-Fulfilling Jewels, Part 10 of 10 Aug. 13, 2015

“But it’s just the problem. One problem is that, even at the time of death, before you go into the Three Evil Paths, just before that, even if you remember Buddha’s name, just one Buddha’s name, or one sentence from here, then the road to hell is closed for you, even if you’ve done a lot of bad things.” “Of course, you don’t have to remember any of them. If you have one Master, it’s good.” “Try not to complain a lot. Try to see things positively and accept the situation. But nevertheless, all the Centers should work together. Every time we do things without love, there’s a hole in our protective layer, personally as well. Only peace and love can protect you more, apart from the Holy Names, and the Buddha’s power, and all that. When you’re practicing, all the Buddhas in the past, meaning all the Masters in the past, and present, are helping you also. Blessing you all the time. All the angels are protecting you. But you have to be really sincere, so you can connect better.”

Selections from My Religion by Leo Tolstoy (vegetarian): Chapter II, Part 1 of 2

“Everyone thinks of changing the world but no one thinks of changing himself.” This insightful saying by Leo Tolstoy is a good reminder for all of us to reflect inward. The renowned 19th-century Russian author suggested that we ask ourselves what God really wants us to do. Yearning for more than success, fame, and wealth, Leo Tolstoy eventually established himself as a moral philosopher and spiritual leader during the last 30 years of his life. In addition to adopting and promoting the vegetarian diet, he became a fervent Christian pacifist through an interpretation of the ethical teachings of Christ. My Religion is a book by Count Leo Tolstoy, completed in 1884. It is the follow up to his book, A Confession. These two volumes show his transition from existential questions about life to a firm belief in God and the spiritual principle of nonviolent resistance as described in the Gospels of the Holy Bible. “When I apprehended clearly the words ‘Resist not evil,’ my conception of the doctrine of Jesus was entirely changed; and I was astounded, not that I had failed to understand it before, but that I had misunderstood it so strangely. I knew, as we all know, that the true significance of the doctrine of Jesus was comprised in the injunction to love one’s neighbor. When we say, ‘Turn the other cheek,’ ‘Love your enemies,’ we express the very essence of Christianity.”

Buddhist Stories: Wish-Fulfilling Jewels, Part 9 of 10 Aug. 13, 2015

“Thank You, Master, for reading these beautiful sutras for us in the last days. And this really enlightens our minds to understand the Buddhists, and what Shakyamuni Buddha has done for us, for the living beings.” “We are very happy there are also ways for the people, if they pray to the Buddhas or Christ, they have some ways to liberate.” “Because it’s difficult for all to be initiated, or meditate.” So just tell them to read the sutra. But they have to believe sincerely also. So that, this belief, this sincerity will connect with the Buddha power. Not just blah, blah, blah, blah. Connecting from inside. So they have to be sincere, humble, really request. Even though you say reciting the Buddha’s name, and the past Buddha, and then, or do something, then finally you will be Buddha. But meanwhile, there are so many thousands, hundreds of eons passed already. And then, even then, you might be led into temptation and having suffering meanwhile. So no matter what. Of course enlightenment, immediate enlightenment is the best. So you have the one lifetime, finished. If you practice directly, the (inner Heavenly) Light and the Sound of the universe, then you are directly in. Don’t have to be reborn again, and enjoy the merit or suffer the sin. It’s the best.

The Songs of Kabir (vegetarian): Selections from 1 to 26, Part 2 of 2

Music is all around it, and there the heart partakes of the joy of the Infinite Sea. Kabir says: “Dive thou into that Ocean of sweetness: thus let all errors of life and of death flee away.” Behold how the thirst of the five senses is quenched there! And the three forms of misery are no more! Kabir says: “It is the sport of the Unattainable One: look within, and behold how the moon-beams of that Hidden One shine in you.” There falls the rhythmic beat of life and death: Rapture wells forth, and all space is radiant with light. There the Unstruck Music is sounded; it is the music of the love of the three worlds. There millions of lamps of sun and of moon are burning; There the drum beats; and the lover swings in play. There love-songs resound, and light rains in showers; and the worshipper is entranced in the taste of the heavenly nectar. Look upon life and death; there is no separation between them, The right hand and the left hand are one and the same.

The Songs of Kabir (vegetarian): Selections from 1 to 26, Part 1 of 2

Kabir was a great Indian poet who was fully devoted to the Creator. He was a Saint who not only endeavored to live the Truth, He wrote about it through His divine gift of verse. A weaver by profession, Kabir is considered as one of the world’s greatest poets and one of the most quoted authors. Kabir’s message is universal. Perhaps that is why many still revere Kabir as a Saint, whether they are a Sikh, Hindu, Muslim or modern spiritual seekers. We would now like to invite you to be sublime in the beautiful spiritual poetry selected from “The Songs of Kabir.” “Bathe in the truth, know the true Guru, have faith in the true Name!” “The moon shines in my body, but my blind eyes cannot see it: The moon is within me, and so is the sun. The unstruck drum of Eternity is sounded within me; but my deaf ears cannot hear it. So long as man clamours for the I and the Mine, his works are as nothing: When all love of the I and the Mine is dead, then the work of the Lord is done.”

Learning to Communicate with Plants: Interview with Mr. Alexandre Ferran, Part 1 of 3

On today’s program we’ll speak with accomplished actor, director, and author - Mr. Alexandre Ferran, of Paris, France. Through his thorough research, he has also become a renowned expert in understanding the ability of plants to communicate through music and words. “At the beginning of the 20th century there was an Indian called Mr. Bose who created a device called the crescograph, which made it possible to read in an accelerated way the movements of plants.” “In fact, in science, what we notice is that all the people who are plant lovers are able to demonstrate that they have a conscience, and emotions, and the capacity for understanding, of intelligence, etc.” Plants can also understand and respond to what people say. As Mr. Ferran shows us how plants can use the communication device to communicate through the language of music.

“And then at that time, there was a person in the peaceful heaven. He looked down and saw that Great Charity was so determined to do good works to help all beings in the world. So he asked many of his friends in heaven, heaven friends to come down and quietly help. After the dragons saw that the water level kept lowering, they were so scared. …They returned the three jewels.” “So when Great Charity came back, he came and prostrated in front of the parents. Both of them were so touched, so in awe.” “And then, from then on, the whole planet, everyone had everything they needed, including jewelry and precious substances. And then he asked someone else to come in, announcing something again, ‘Now, I would like all of the citizens to try to practice the Ten Wholesome Deeds, and keep your speech, action and thinking pure and merciful, compassionate, loving and kind, filial and protective of each other….’” “At that time, on the planet here, everyone relying on his blessing had everything they needed, and also diligently practiced the Ten Wholesome Deeds. Because of that, after they died, all of them went to Heaven.” “Now the Buddha reminded everybody, ‘The Great Charity person was my former incarnation. And the Ocean King, who stayed in the golden citadel now is Ananda, who treated me generously and respectfully.’”

His Holiness Marpa Lotsawa (vegetarian): Remarkable Tibetan Buddhist Master, Part 2 of 4

While following Mahasiddha Sri Naropa, Marpa Lotsawa received permission to study with Naropa’s disciple, the great Mahasiddha Maitripa, who became Marpa’s second main Guru. At the Radiant Flower Monastery on Blazing Fire Mountain, Marpa received two important traditions from Maitripa. The first is the Vajrayana practice of singing spontaneous songs of experience and realization, known as dohas. The teachings of Mahamudra is the second tradition that Marpa received from Maitripa. Afterwards, Marpa travelled home to Lhotrak, where He was greeted by the locals with respect. Meanwhile, He continued to work to support His family as well as His growing followers. After his son Tarma Dode was born, Marpa Lotsawa went to India a second time, and for the next six years, He continued to study with Masters Naropa and Maitripa. As He was preparing to leave, Naropa instructed Him to return to India for a third time to complete His training.

Buddhist Stories: Wish-Fulfilling Jewels, Part 7 of 10 Aug. 13, 2015

Walking for a while, he saw another citadel with walls all like green diamonds. And this, another Ocean King, sat on his seven-jeweled throne. So he asked, "Bodhisattva, is there something necessary that you have to come here?" So he said, "Your Majesty, I come here requesting of you the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel to help my people." So the King of the Ocean said, "Sir, this one can rain down food for all beings within 4,000 square miles. If you want to have it, please stay here two months. Every day, give me a lecture." After a while, he saw another citadel. And then the king, another King of the Ocean, sitting on his seven-jeweled throne. So he said, "This jewel can rain down seven kinds of jewels in the vicinity of 8,000 square miles. If you want it, you stay four months, preach to me, so that I know some of the Buddha's true Dharma." There were some dragons around there, knowing that Great Charity had come to the Ocean King, and had gotten the best Wish-Fulfilling Jewel, so they became greedy. And he thought to himself, "So it can only be the dragons that stole my jewels. I spent so much time and went through so much hardship to get them so that I can rescue other beings, to fulfill my wish of charity to give it to others. Even if I die, I will not go back home empty-handed. I will scoop all the water from the ocean until I see you down there."

Prophecy of the Golden Age Part 73 - Native American Prophecies with Chief Phil Lane Jr.

According to The Honorable Native American Chief Phil Lane Jr., enlightened Masters have always been coming to bless our world, helping to move our human civilization forward to a freer, more inclusive and advanced state. The gentle presence of each enlightened Messenger has had a ripple effect that elevated our world in ways we may never fully perceive. And it is still true in our modern time. One autumn day in 1993, an intuitive kinship led a respected Native American medicine man to invite a living Master and Her disciples to his home. The time together was brief but impressions. In an inspired moment, Thomas One Wolf expressed what enlightened Masters meant to the Native American people, in sharing his thoughts about Supreme Master Ching Hai. “Her wisdom is knowledge shared, remember something: ‘the only word you are really hearing is Joy.’ When you are walking with Her and you see people that will respect and honor Her way and pay homage to Her, then you are gifted by the gift of Her peace. These are what Masters are to the Indian.”

Buddhist Stories: Wish-Fulfilling Jewels, Part 6 of 10 Aug. 13, 2015

After he brought the gold and everything back, he told everybody to buy a good boat and everything had to be very thick. And then after everybody arranged to go home, he said, "I'll stay here. I want to go down to the King of the Ocean and ask for the Wish-Fulfilling Gem. Then I can give to all the world's people. And it's never, never finished." "I do not fear the long distance and the dangerous journey going to the sea to take out the treasures, to help other citizens, so that they will not be hungry and thirsty anymore. This merit I dedicate to all the Buddhas in the ten directions. I want to forward it only to my Buddhahood in the future." And then he went down to sea now. Then he saw the King of the Ocean, sitting there on his jeweled throne, a seven-jeweled throne. And he saw Great Charity come in; he was so surprised. He was thinking, "How can he come here? He must be full of merit." And then the King of the Ocean felt very respectful. "But you stay here for one month first so that I can make some offerings to you. And then you preach to me." And then the King of the Ocean took the Wish-Fulfilling Jewel from his tuft of hair, and give it to him, and then he said, "Great Charity, Sir, your merciful heart is so great, so big. Your willpower is so incredible. In the future, you definitely will be a Buddha. After you become Buddha, please accept me then as a disciple with wisdom."
