In our last episode, we learned about the journey of animal-people activist Francis “Frank” Metivier who embraces a vegan lifestyle. On July 4th, 2023, his first documentary “The Disconnection” was shown at the Cinematheque, downtown Vancouver, Canada. “I came up with the fact that one of the biggest obstacles for people to live vegan or stop eating animal products is the disconnection that they have with the products, the animal products that they eat, and the living animals that they were once. And I was there before.” “I made it with compassion; try to just make people realize what a horrible industry they’re supporting when they’re still eating animal products. It already won, I think, seven awards and I’m focusing on that.”

Frank, the intrepid traveler and lover of the great outdoors, offers glimpses into his adventurous journeys, all the while championing his passion for promoting a vegan lifestyle through the lenses of his social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram, and his lively YouTube Channel. “It’s not hard to be vegan, traveling, but I would say the hardest thing is to witness how much animal exploitation there is in the world. It doesn’t mean that back home in Canada, in the western country, it’s not as bad. It is just, people don’t see it; they do a better job at hiding the abuse, the killing and the cruelty.” “I hope that it’s going to become like that one day, that veganism is the new norm. Eating animal products will be outdated.” “Living vegan is to reduce immensely the amount of suffering of animals and the killing, it’s the ethical aspect of it. That’s the first key point. And then there’s also benefits of doing that for the environment. It can be very healthy to eat plant-based if you do it properly and you eat well. So all those things are just a byproduct of being kind to animals. And for people that are already vegan, become active. And that’s how we can achieve a vegan world, sooner than later.”
