Today is Lunar New Year, or the Spring Festival, according to the lunar calendar. It’s the biggest holiday for many Asian countries, such as Korea, China, and Âu Lạc, also known as Vietnam. How do people celebrate this big holiday? First of all, it’s common for people to dress in brand new clothes. They often visit family and friends, in order to exchange gifts and well-wishes. For the Chinese people, as well as the Aulacese people, performing a lion dance is an important tradition; as it’s believed that lions bring good fortune, and chases away negative spirits. Would you like to try writing the character “Fu” (good fortune) in Chinese calligraphy? … Apart from writing Spring couplets in calligraphy, you can also try to make special red lanterns for decoration. Food also plays a major role during Lunar New Year. Food brings family and friends, both young and old, together to enjoy not only eating but also enjoying one another’s company. We can make all these amazing dishes vegan, and enjoy them all! My wish is to have more people eat plant-based food, so that all the animals will be happy too.
