The Burkhan Khaldun Mountain is a important part of Mongolian history, “The Secret History of the Mongols” and other historical texts said that this site is where the history of our ancestors begins. There are many stories about Lord Genghis Khan and Burkhan Khaldun Mountain. He escaped from the merged tribe and was hiding at Burkhan Khaldun Mountain for nine days. While there, Lord Genghis Khan took off His girdle strap, loosened it from His clothes, and put it around his neck. Symbolically by this act, He abandoned His Mongolian pride and expressed His submission to the gods.
