Kimberly Moore of the United States, a senior attorney and a fellow at the UK-based Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics, recently wrote an article titled “It’s time to take animals’ rights seriously. Our own future depends on it.” It was published by Analyst News, a non-profit international news organization. In it, Ms. Moore states that the future of humans and animal-citizens are interconnected, and recognition of animal-persons’ rights is essential to protect our planet for generations to come. Animal-people industrial raising operations, including the resulting pollution and plundering of the world’s oceans, have led to deforestation, biodiversity loss, zoonotic diseases, and climate change.
