Food for Life Global: World’s Largest Vegan Food Relief Program

Food for Life Global (FFLG) was founded in 1995. It is headquartered in Delaware, United States, and helps to coordinate, train, expand, and promote charity vegan food distribution throughout the globe. FFLG has become the world’s largest food relief program with thousands of volunteers that have supplied over 7 billion free meals since its founding. Only pure vegan food is provided. Guided by the ancient Vedic philosophy of spiritual hospitality, the organization offers food “to the disadvantaged, malnourished and victims of disaster.” Good quality plant-based meals are daily prepared to nurture not only the bodies of those in need but also their minds and souls. One of the goals of the movement is “to revive the ancient Vedic culture of spiritual hospitality, teaching through example that spiritual equality exists among all beings.”

FFLG’s origins trace back to a project started in 1974 by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, or Srila Prabhupada, who is also the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). Srila Prabhupada believed that “By the liberal distribution of prasadam and sankirtan (congregational chanting of the Holy name), the whole world can become peaceful and prosperous.”

Founded on this notion, FFLG members understand how to keep the highest purity of body and mind and the importance of giving people clean vegan food for their health and spiritual development. They have a lot of deep, loving thoughts while cooking to ensure God’s energy augments its quality. The head chefs always make an offering to God first before giving it out to the public, thus making sure it is blessed by the Divine.

To expand its reach, FFLG invites everyone to participate in feeding the hungry. The goal is to propagate a social change movement that anyone can participate in and readily understand the spiritual and health value of vegan sanctified food.
