In today’s program, we present two powerful films about female pioneers who have, in their own unique ways, changed their personal fate and become an inspiration for future generations: “Hidden Figures” and “Little Women.” “Hidden Figures” is a 2016 historical biographical drama adapted from Margot Lee Shetterly’s non-fiction book entitled “Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race.” Our next movie was inspired by the famous novel of acclaimed author Louisa May Alcott, “Little Women.” Released in 1994, “Little Women” is a film about love, family, and the strong female spirit. The story revolves around the five females of the March family who reside in Concord, Massachusetts, USA, in the 1860s. Through these difficult times, the audience witnesses the March family’s altruism towards one another and others in the neighborhood. “Hidden Figures” and “Little Women” are two uplifting films about the brilliant women who have each made a distinct and lasting difference in their individual ways, and encouraged millions to follow their admirable examples.
