On today's show, it's our pleasure to introduce you to the joyous traditional dances and songs of Korea. The Seoljanggo Dance is performed while playing this drum. The dance originates from Nongak, a Korean folk performing art recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO) as an intangible Cultural Heritage of humanity. A traditional style of song handed down and developed by classical scholars of the Joseon Dynasty. Gagok's lyrics are widely known traditional Korean poems called "sijo", and are sung in the seated position. Minyo style songs are widely loved by ordinary people. Minyo talks about ordinary people's lives and emotions varying in characteristics according to different regions.
