The Kingdom of Lesotho is an enclaved country within South Africa. Having abundant solar, wind, and hydropower resources, Lesotho strives to develop renewable, affordable, and clean energy for its citizens and universal access. Lesotho is committed to empowering the youth of today to pursue development. Significant progress has been made in youth employment rates, which increased 14% between 2000 and 2020. And it's great news to hear that Lesotho is considered very vegan-friendly by tourists.

Liberia is a West African country. In 2005, the Liberians welcomed our first people-elected woman president, also the first female president in Africa, Her Excellency Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. Her Excellency Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Leymah Gbowee, and Tawakkul Karman, a Yemen woman journalist, were awarded the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize. Our wise Liberian government prioritizes education as one of the key national development strategies. We are also so excited that the number of restaurants in Liberia offering vegan or vegetarian options is growing.

Libya is a North African country. Libya’s Government of National Accord (GNA) and Libya Arab Armed Forces (LAAF) are both the recipients of the distinguished Shining World Leadership Award for Peace. Conscientious Libya has also launched a series of reforestation campaigns to protect its precious forests. Blessed with rich wind and solar power resources, the Libyan government strives to develop renewable energy to diversify its energy mix. In early 2020, the construction of a 100 MW solar photovoltaic power plant began in Kufra. This August, a plan was announced to build a 50 MW clean energy power plant in Bani Walid.
