From the Rosicrucian Order’s The Sanctuary of Self: on the Mystical Life, Part 1 of 3

From the Rosicrucian Order’s The Sanctuary of Self: on the Mystical Life, Part 1 of 3

The Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis, also known as the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC, is a worldwide cultural, educational, and philosophical organization that is perpetuating profound and practical teachings of the Rosicrucians. These teachings, as passed down and added to over the centuries from ancient Egypt to Europe and now all over the world, pertain to the mysteries of the universe, nature, and humans themselves. Today we will explore the process that could lead us to the mystical life according to the Rosicrucian Order, in Chapter 1 of the book “The Sanctuary of Self” by the late Rosicrucian leader Ralph M. Lewis. Chapter I THE MYSTICAL LIFE. “The mystical life provides the reason why we live. The mystical life determines the cause of our individual lives and the use to which we should put our bodies and our animal vitality and magnetism. The mystical life, like the physical life, requires certain preparation. If we must study the rules of diet, if we must study hygiene, if we must know the rudiments of good health to be healthy and physically normal, certainly we should give some thought and consideration to the mystical side of our existence as well.”

Selection from The Mahayana Mahaparinirvana Sutra: Chapter 15 – On the Parable of the Moon, Part 2 of 2

We will continue with Chapter 15 of The Mahayana Mahaparinirvana Sutra – On the Parable of the Moon, where Buddha will further reveal to us more enlightening tales featuring the moon, stars and sun. “‘It is the same with the Tathagata. In order to guide us, He gives beings restrictions. So one should try to act in accordance with those restrictions and not contrary to them. For those people of the five deadly sins, for those slandering Wonderful Dharma, for the icchantika, and for those who may do such deeds in days to come, He manifests such. All this is for the days after the Buddha’s death, for the bhiksus to know that these are important points in the sutras, these are the heavy and light aspects of the precepts, these, the passages of the Abhidharma which are weighty and not weighty. This is to enable them to be like the doctor’s son.’” “‘Also, next, O good man! Beings take delight, for example, in seeing the bright moon. That is why we call the moon “that which is pleasing to see”. If beings possess greed, malevolence and ignorance, there can be no pleasure in such seeing. The same with the Tathagata. The Tathagata’s nature is pure, good, clean and undefiled. This is what is most pleasing to behold. Beings who are in harmony with Dharma will not shun such seeing; those with evil minds are not pleased by such seeing. Hence we say that the Tathagata is like the bright moon.’” “‘Also, next, O good man! For example, when the sun rises, all the mist disperses. The situation is the same regarding this Great Nirvana Sutra. If one should once give ear to it, all ill and the karma of avichi hell will die out. Nobody can fathom what obtains in this Great Nirvana, which expounds the hidden store of the nature of the Tathagata. For this reason, good men and women entertain the thought that the Tathagata is eternal, that he does not change, that Dharma does not cease to be, and that the Sangha Treasure does not die out. Hence, we should employ means, make effort, and learn this sutra. Such a person, in the course of time, will attain unsurpassed enlightenment. That is why this sutra is said to contain innumerable virtues, and is also called one that knows no end of enlightenment. Because of this endlessness, we can say Mahaparinirvana. The light of Good shines as in the sun’s days. As it is boundless, we say Great Nirvana.’”

Distributing God’s Wisdom: From the Book of the Secrets of Enoch (vegetarian), Part 1 of 2

Distributing God’s Wisdom: From the Book of the Secrets of Enoch (vegetarian), Part 1 of 2

The Book of the Secrets of Enoch, also known as the Second Book of Enoch, or Old Bulgarian Enoch, is an ancient religious text, which describes the intensity of the Antediluvian (pre-Flood) time period. Enoch was a venerated patriarch and great-grandfather of Noah. After his son, Methuselah, was born, Enoch began to “walk with God” – that is, he began to seek, to know, to serve, and to pray to God, and he continued this for the next 300 years! Throughout his life, he visited Heaven in his visions and dreams. At the age of 365, Enoch disappeared, “because God took him away” straight to Heaven, for he was pleasing to God. The Book of Enoch contains unique material on why the Great Flood was morally necessary, why some angels fell from Heaven, and prophetic revelations of the thousand-year reign of the Messiah. But the main message is one of hope, that God will be the guiding Light for those who are righteous. Today, as we go through chapters 31 to 39 from “The Book of the Secrets of Enoch,” we will read about God appointing Enoch to go down to Earth and share his handwritten books on everything he has witnessed and learned while on his journey in Heaven. “And now, Enoch, all that I have told you, all that you have understood, all that you have seen of Heavenly things, all that you have seen on Earth, and all that I have written in books by my great wisdom, all these things I have devised and created from the uppermost foundation to the lower and to the end, and there is no counsellor nor inheritor to my creations. I am self-eternal, not made with hands, and without change.” “They have rejected my commandments and my yoke, worthless seed has come up, not fearing God, and they would not bow down to me, but have begun to bow down to vain gods, and denied my unity, and have laden the whole Earth with untruths, offences, abominable lustfulness, namely one with another, and all manner of other unclean wickedness, which are disgusting to relate. And therefore, I will bring down a deluge upon the Earth and will destroy all men, and the whole Earth will crumble together into great darkness.”

From the White Buffalo Teachings by Chief Arvol Looking Horse, Part 2 of 2

Today, we continue with reading a selection from Chief Arvol Looking Horse’s book “White Buffalo Teachings.” He emphasizes more on the importance and urgency of a global healing, so that we can secure a brighter future for the generations yet to come. “Our Instructions from Wakan Tankan (the Great Spirit, the Great Mystery) tell us to promote global healing, to teach peace and harmony to the many Nations of Mother Earth and to begin both a Great Healing and a Great Forgiving. We must teach all Peoples that Mother Earth is not a resource, but the very Source of Life itself. Unless we do this, the powers of destruction will overwhelm us. So our generation has been put here to save all future generations. That’s why we hold this World Peace & Prayer Day each year since 1996 (June 21), because two years before that the White Buffalo Calf was born among us as a Sign both of Warning and of Deliverance. In a Prophecy, we were told we would be the key people to re-educate our relatives, teaching the medicines of balance and harmony that our Mother Earth needs to survive. That’s why I say that we are at a Crossroads, each of us and all of us – a Crossroads predicted in our Prophecies.” “White Buffalo Calf Woman’s spirit has announced her message of support in this time of great danger, and she continues to announce the message in the birth of each White Buffalo – each one of them a Sign, each one a fulfillment of ancient Prophecy as well as a new Prophecy for our times.”

Selection from The Mahayana Mahaparinirvana Sutra: Chapter 15 – On the Parable of the Moon, Part 1 of 2

The Mahāyāna Mahāparinirvāṇa Sūtra (大般涅槃經) or Nirvana Sutra is a Tathagatagarbha sutra of Mahayana Buddhism. It is considered as a major Mahayana sutra. The actual date of the original sutra is not known, however it is said that its early texts may have been written before or during the second century CE. “The Buddha said to Kasyapa: ‘As an example: there is a man here who, as he sees that the moon is not yet out, says that the moon has departed, and entertains the thought that the moon has sunk down. But this moon, by its nature, does not sink down. When it appears on the other side of the world, the people of the other side say that the moon is out. Why? Since Mount Sumeru obstructs (vision), the moon cannot reveal itself. The moon is always out. It has, by nature, no coming out or sinking down. The same is the case with the Tathagata, the Alms-deserving, the All-Enlightened One. He manifests himself in the 3,000 great-thousand worlds; or He gives the semblance of having parents in Jambudvipa or of entering Nirvana in Jambudvipa. The Tathagata, by nature, does not enter Nirvana. But all beings say that He truly enters Parinirvana. The case is analogous to the sinking of the moon. O good man! The Tathagata, by nature, does not possess the nature of birth and death. To succor beings, He manifests (His) birth and death.’” “‘O good man! The same is the case with the Tathagata. In Jambudvipa, He manifests birth and enters Nirvana. His first coming out (appearance in the world) is the first of the month. Everybody says that this boy is first born. He strides seven paces. This is like the moon on the second day. Or He shows himself studying. This is like the moon on the third day. He displays renunciation. This is like the moon of the eighth day. He emits the all-wonderful light of Wisdom and subdues an innumerable number of beings and the army of mara. This may be likened to the full moon of the 15th day. Or He manifests the 32 signs of perfection and the 80 minor marks of excellence. He thus adorns Himself and manifests Nirvana. He is like the eclipse of the moon. Thus, what beings see is not the same. Some see a half-moon, others a full moon, and still others an eclipse. But this moon, by its nature, knows of no waxing or eclipsing. It is always the full moon. The body of the Tathagata is like this. For this reason, we say eternal and unchanging.’”

From the Book of Mormon: Excerpts from the Book of Moroni – Chapters 1-7, Part 2 of 2

From the Book of Mormon: Excerpts from the Book of Moroni – Chapters 1-7, Part 2 of 2

Through Divine assistance, Joseph Smith was able to translate the Book of Mormon into English. Along with the Holy Bible, it remains an important scripture to the millions of Mormon faithful around the world. We now continue with Chapter 7 from The Book of Mormon’s “Book of Moroni,” with its wise elaborations about hope, faith, and pure-heartedness. “Therefore, if a man have faith he must have hope; for without faith there cannot be any hope. And again, behold I say unto you that he cannot have faith and hope, save he shall be meek, and lowly of heart.” “And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. …Therefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail - But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoever is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.”

Selections from the Holy Qur’an: Surah 31 Luqman

10:26

Selections from the Holy Qur’an: Surah 31 Luqman

The gentle Prophet Muhammad peace be upon Him, was a beloved Master who led by His own shining example. His noble teachings live on in the hearts of people today, inspiring them toward a peaceful path to find the Most High. We now invite you to listen to excerpts from the Holy Qur’an: Surah 31 Luqman. “But for those who believe and do good works are Gardens of Bliss, where they shall live forever. The promise of Allah is the Truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. He created the heavens without pillars that you see and cast on the earth firm mountains lest it should shake with you. We gave wisdom to Luqman (saying): ‘Give thanks to Allah. He who gives thanks, thanks only for himself, but whosoever is ungrateful, surely, Allah is the Rich, the Praised.’ Allah has knowledge of what is innermost in their hearts, But most of them do not have knowledge. To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. So do not let the life of this present world delude you, nor let the deluder (satan) delude you concerning Allah.”

Be a Torchbearer for God, Part 2 of 5

26:29

Be a Torchbearer for God, Part 2 of 5

If we want to see the whole Heaven or Godhood, or some celestial mansion, we have to rise up to their place, and we do that by thought – deep, deep, deep thought. I will show you how to garner your power of thought in order to get out of this “gate” here, and enter another dimension at will, anytime. You practice and you can do that anytime, anywhere. We have to believe from today that God is all-forgiving, all-loving. Even if you don't believe God is all-forgiving, all-loving, you believe Jesus has come here and He has sacrificed for you, and I am going to show you that what He said is the Truth. I am going to show you that really there is a God – God Father, God Mother, or Buddha, whomever you believe, Allah, even – anyone that you call Hiers name by all your love, all your beauty, all your faith, that is the God who is always loving, never ever, ever criticizes you, even for one fraction of a second. Anytime you turn to Hirm, no matter how badly you have done in your life, Hes will open the door, immediately. That's why we call this way “immediate enlightenment,” because it is immediate. And every day you can re-practice again and again, until you completely remember that there is only one thing in this life, is God, and Hes is everywhere, and then you'll be happy. You'll be happy from the day you see Hiers Light, the first day already, maybe today. If you trust me enough to offer this service to you, you can have it right away, no problem. You will see that whatever is stated in the Bible, it is 100% truth. Like Moses has seen God, Jesus has been one with God, so that He becomes… Or He's always been the Son of God, but He is not the only Son of God. We are also the son of God. God is not impotent. Hes didn't make only one son. Hes makes many. It's just Jesus has remembered. He has remembered the highest Self of His connection with God. He has remembered the whole thing, and we have not remembered. That's all. There were two sons of the king: one has been wandering all over the land and has forgotten that he is a prince; the other stays with the father and remembers that he is a prince. Both are…? Princes, yes. No difference. One day he remembers, he comes back. It's the same. Yes. So, we are the wandering sons and daughters of God, and the moment you want to go Home, it's right there. Everything is created by thought only. For example, now we are in the physical body, so you do not understand much of the teaching of Jesus or Buddha. Because it is said that whatever you ask, your Father would give it to you. That means whatever you think of, whatever you wish for, will be fulfilled. But we cannot believe that because we are so “imprisoned” by this physical shackle we call the body. So, in order to experience the boundless love, the boundlessness, the all-pervasive, unconditional, eternal love of God, we have to rise above the body. And I will show you how to do that. It's very simple. You can do that on the bus, on the airplane, in the park, anywhere. There is no condition. I will show you how in a minute. And I can show you deeper, a different level of forsaking the body. If you want to go deeper, there are some things you'll have to know more, so it takes a couple of hours to explain to you. But the enlightenment is just seconds. The explanation takes longer. Why explanation? Because you have to do it alone at home and so you have to know everything. So take care of yourself and be your own master. Then you don't have to call me “Master” anymore; you call yourself “Master,” or don't even bother. We are friends, yes. Every one of us is equal. Equal. Truly like that.Too many things from here. Slow down, please! Hes talks so fast. My mouth is not fast enough, because in the higher dimension, we don't even talk and we understood each other just like I am speaking to myself in my head. The message comes through so fast, so sometimes I forgot; I couldn't catch up.The reason we do not know we are one with God and everything we wish for or remember will always be right in front of our nose is because we are shackled in this physical body. So, to rise above the body, there is a way to do that. So, we can even contact Jesus, contact Buddha, contact Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), whomever the past Masters who have left the physical environment and entered another dimension. So, in order to see Them, we enter Their dimension, then we see Them. It's very simple. I want to see African people the most, I come here. When I want to see English people, I go to England. There are some English people who come to my place sometimes, or some South African brothers who come to my place sometimes, but they are rare, see? If I want to see the whole African people, I come here. That's it. So, why the saints say that we have to “learn to die so that you begin to live” is that, because, if you learn to do this deep contemplation on deep thought prayers, then we can enter the dimension of the celestial being. And it's just similar to the moment of death to many, even ordinary people. Don't have to say practitioner, yogis, or anything. Ordinary people, when their conscience is clear, their life has been a perfect example of goodness, when they die, they find themselves very liberated; they find themselves all-pervasive, everywhere at the same time, and nowhere that they are not; and whenever they want something, that thing just comes right in front of them; whenever they think of somebody, that somebody will appear right in front of them. In other words, they will project themselves immediately in front of the things that they desire or the person that they want to see. That's why when we learn to “die” – means we leave this physical body and die temporarily – we have this kind of experience too, and then we can know exactly that really, whatever we want, God grants it to us, God gives it to us. It’s just in this physical body, we are so blind, deaf, and dumb to celestial blessings, to God's love, that we feel so helpless. We are the most helpless when we are in this physical body. It is like you are locked in a box and the key has been thrown away into the river. It's like that – so helpless. That's why we have to learn to rise above this physical prison in order to truly experience the glory of love. Then we will be so happy every day that it doesn't matter where we are, doesn't matter how much we have or not have, we will be always contented, always happy. That's why Jesus did not move in the face of death. He said, "Father, how much you have glorified me." He accepted the crucifixion; He did not run away. He could have; He could have, anytime. A man of that power and knowledge, He can do anything! But He did not want to. Why should He run away from something that He knows can only make Him feel more glorified, more happy, more liberated? Why should He feel attached to this little prison when He knows the vastness of Heaven? Why should He be attached to relatives and friends of this physical dimension, when He knows that He could see the Father in Heaven, and He knows all of the brothers and sisters, all the relatives and friends, are all one with Him in the end, anyhow? That is true liberation. There is no freedom compared to this freedom in God realization. That is the only true freedom that we should search for. I am willing to serve you in any way I can, if you think you are ready to make this choice again, you've had enough with this life, you want to have a different choice. But nevertheless, we do not forsake this world in order to go to Heaven, no. We still can have both. For example, I am still here. I just enjoy Heaven every day, but I also enjoy this life. You see, I enjoy your jewelry and your clothes very much. Sometimes, people who are spiritual, if they choose to be successful also in this life, they can also be successful. Different Masters have chosen different ways to demonstrate the love of God. Some Masters have chosen the way of complete renunciation – like Jesus, like Buddha – but some Masters have chosen to make use of the gifts of God, or God has ordained Them to do this. It depends on God's will, whether you should be very rich materially as well as spiritually in this life, or you just be rich materially and not spiritually, or just spiritually and not materially. Everyone has to walk a different path, but we're all walking Home, toward God's dimension, and this is what we are here for. In case you ask me what's the purpose of a human being, that's what it is.And thank you very much for your attention. If you have any more questions, I will be pleased to answer. Then I can show you how to remember God. I hope I made myself clear? Yes, you are so intelligent. My God! I am not surprised. African people are very, very spiritual. They are very much more in contact with nature...very spiritual.(Dear Master, what is the benefit of following a Master? Is it not perhaps a better prospect to be self-determined and to follow one's own path to enlightenment and to sort out one's own karma (retribution)?) Actually, in a way of speaking, you call me “Master,” but I told you already, I am going to remind you that you are the Master, and that's all there is. And the karma (retribution) and all that will go away, as soon as you realize that you are the Master of the universe, that you are one with God. But before that, if you have not completely realized this, of course, I'll be your friend and help you until you understand everything. And you can call me “Master” or you follow me. You don't have to follow me because I am not here in Africa forever. Just follow the instructions, so that every day you can contemplate deeply inside and then find God, and then one day you will completely understand. You might even completely understand today, it depends on how intense is your choice to go back to God. So, you don't have to follow anybody, not even any physical or celestial being. You follow yourself. I am just showing you how, showing you some instructions because it's not that you don't know – you have forgotten! Because we live in this world, we're so busy with survival and everything tries to bury us under these worries and suffering and then make us so busy and perplexed that we have forgotten. So, I have already gotten out of the mud; I can pull a rope and get you out and then bathe you again. Then you'll become just like me again – all clean, beautiful.(Can the Convenient Method of meditation offer you as much as initiation?) Differently, a little differently. The Convenient Method is for convenience, yes. Some people, for example, they cannot be vegetarian completely or they have not decided whether they should go part-time or full-time. They just want to try a short period of time every day. So, of course, the benefit is not as great as when you go full-time. But the Convenient Method will offer your own liberation in this lifetime. Whereas, if you practice Quan Yin Method and get the full initiation, you could even help many other people, including your five, six, seven, nine generations, to be liberated. Yes, the more money you earn, the richer you become.(How can You explain Adam and Eve?) Should I explain about them? Look at yourself and you know. Look at ourselves.(After initiation, how do we communicate with You if You are not here?) I am always “here.” You will see that. Sometimes you will see me in your house if you concentrate enough. Besides, you can write to me, can e-mail, write a letter. Nowadays, very convenient. But the best communication is inside, because we will be reconnected again with the whole universe, so whatever problem you have, the whole universe knows and, of course, I know, because I am also connected to the network. So, whenever you ask something, you have the answer right away. But in case you're still not sure in the beginning, you can always write to me. But the answer is always inside. There is a connection, a 24-hour telephone service – no charge. Yes, that's a wonder of being enlightened. Because if a teacher has to be physically present every time with the disciples, then it is not convenient, it's not powerful enough. Because it doesn't matter how powerful or how strong a teacher is, he or she cannot protect the disciple 24 hours by physical presence, but by the power of the universe to which the master, she or he, is connected already. I am not, myself, it's not the physical body now, that will be protecting you. It is the connection with the universal power through me that will protect you. That's why everywhere you are, that power knows and protects you and answers your questions. You will know "Knock and it shall be opened. Ask and it shall be given." Your prayers will always be answered, your questions will always be replied to by inner connection. And that's the wonder of being in this enlightening way of life. Otherwise, what's the use of having to even find the Master through rivers and oceans again? And how long can you stay with her or him? Even the Master, after initiation, will continue to protect and guide you after the Master has departed from this world. That is the meaning of being a Master. Otherwise, you should not be a Master. It's a lot of work.(Will we master the art of clairvoyance with the third eye?) That's nothing! That's just a little child's play. You don't aim for that. This is not the goal for you. Of course, you will see things – you'll see everything – but you see the whole universe, not just a little thing here and there, not just your future and your past. You will master the whole life force; you will master the whole universe. That is the goal.(I want to understand the Bibles.) Is that it? (Yes.) Well, then study it! Read it. Yes, yes, I know. It is difficult to understand because a lot of stories and terminologies in there are kind of mystical. Unless we have the same level of consciousness, we find it very difficult to understand. So just get enlightened. Stay around and I’ll show you how to enter into the true experiences of the Bibles. Because the Bibles, many are recorded, of the experiences, enlightened experiences, of the past practitioners, spiritual practitioners. It's like, for example, Jesus, when He meditated 40 days in the desert, of course, He communicated with God. And the devil also came to Him and tempted Him with the power of the Three Worlds. You understand what the Three Worlds are? It's very big! This world is already big enough. If somebody comes and offers you to be the king of this whole world, would you like it? Of course, you would already. And he is offered to be the king of the Three Worlds, to be above this world, another two worlds. But that's as far as the devil can reign, so he can only offer Three Worlds. And He said, "Get out of my sight." That's what Jesus said, meaning, “get lost.” This kind of experience... I am sorry, we couldn't even see the devil even if we wanted to, because we are not able to see with the spirit yet. So, in order to understand what Jesus had experienced, even to say to the devil "get lost," we have to study what Jesus has taught us. Walk His way. Meditate like Him. "Go in the closet" – means meditate, means pray in silence, pray properly. "Let your eye be single, so that your whole body will be full of Light." I will show you how to make your eye single, how to find that single eye here, so that you can see Heaven, you can see the true life, which is cheated from us because of all this physical appearance. We are cheated. We did not see the true life, but we can if we use the true eye. And that's why I came here. I will show you later.

From The Essene Humane Gospel of Christ: The Salvation of the World – The Birth of Yeshua, Part 2 of 2

15:39

From The Essene Humane Gospel of Christ: The Salvation of the World – The Birth of Yeshua, Part 2 of 2

We now continue reading from the Essene Humane Gospel about the holy birth and early years of Lord Jesus Christ. “And Joseph and Mary went into Bethlehem, the city of David. And Mary, heavy with child, brought forth her firstborn child in a cave, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger within the cave, for there was no room to be found for them in the town. And behold, the cave was filled with bright light as of the Sun, and it reflected the glory of many holy angels. And there proved to be in the cave also, an ox, and a horse, and an ass, and a sheep, and beneath the manger was a cat with her little ones, and there were doves also overhead, and each had its mate after its kind, the male with the female. Thus it came to pass that [Lord] Yeshua (Jesus) was BORN IN THE MIDST OF THE ANIMALS WHICH, through the redemption of man from ignorance and sin, HE CAME TO REDEEM FROM THEIR SUFFERINGS, by the manifestation of the sons and daughters of God, all those whosoever liveth according to the Holy Law.”

Unity in Diversity through the Vegan Diet: Interview with Father Anthony Chang Sang Loy (vegan), Part 2 of 3

Unity in Diversity through the Vegan Diet: Interview with Father Anthony Chang Sang Loy (vegan), Part 2 of 3

“Previously, I used to have flu once or twice every year, but it stopped after I turned vegan. This change makes me stronger and because of becoming vegan, I have noticed the merits and goodness of animals, which are a lot. The vegan diet inspired me to review relevant materials in the Bible, and to appreciate the animals, thus broadening my consciousness.” “The Holy Bible It is very clearly stated in Genesis 01:29, He [God] said eat only fruits of the trees and other plants; there was no mention of eating meat. Even a lion should also be vegetarian. The other paragraph is in the Book of Nevi’im (Prophets), which said that in the Kingdom of God, lions and lambs sleep together, and the child shall have no fear to put his hand into the snake’s hole. That means peace is everywhere.”“The Pope’s Encyclical stated that nature is like a mother hugging us. He further said that nature is also like a sister to us. This is another perspective. This sister is about the cooperation and coordination with each other. But from the perspective of a mother, it is the nourishment from nature. Nature’s embrace is love. So, there are two types of feelings towards nature. However, this is very important, as it means we should give up our domination. That means we have to discard all the ideas about dominating and exploiting nature.”“Now I am preparing to write ‘God’s Lifelong Blessing and Love.’ It will talk about love. One of the new discoveries in recent decades is a hormone called oxytocin, also translated as ‘labor induction medicine.’ But further research found that its function is not as simple as inducing labor; it improves the contact between people, the contact between couples. That means good contact will develop mutual trust, thus, feeling the support of each other, and generate the feeling of love, etc. These come from this hormone.”“There is another new book called “Undo It!”, and the authors are a doctor and researcher. They say that it is not necessary to take medicine for any recovery. They mention four things; one of them is love, and then stress relief, exercise, and a healthy diet. They incline to having a vegan diet. These four things are good for many diseases. If you embrace all four of them, you can recover without taking medicine. Of course, it depends on how serious your condition is and how long you’ve had the illness. They have done a lot of research and their research has been proved to be scientific.”

From The Essene Humane Gospel of Christ: Peace and Safety for All God’s Creatures, Part 1 of 2

From The Essene Humane Gospel of Christ: Peace and Safety for All God’s Creatures, Part 1 of 2

Lord Jesus Christ, also known as Lord Yeshua, was born into the Essenes Brotherhood, and the Essenes wrote detailed accounts about the Beloved Master’s life and teachings. One of these texts whose fragments have fortunately been preserved is called The Essene Humane Gospel of Christ. Today we’ll read a selection near the beginning of the Essene Humane Gospel of Christ. “And Joseph (Yeshua’s father) spoke these words: ‘Blessed be the True God of our fathers and our mothers in Israel, for in the acceptable time Thou hast surely heard my voice and in the day of salvation hast Thou always helped me. For did not Thou saith, “I will preserve Thy Holy seed and make with Thee a covenant of the people to renew the face of the Earth and return everything back to its root; and to cause the desolate places to be rescued from the very hands of those doing the spoiling.” For Thou hast promised to restore Eden over the face of the Earth and give peace and joy unto all the creatures. That Thou mayest say to the captives, “Go ye forth and be set free, even as ye were born free”; and to them that live in darkness, because of fear, Thou sayest, “Show yourselves in the light of day, and be ye not afraid anymore; for they, one and all, shall again feed in the ways of pleasantness only. For Thy people at that time SHALL NO MORE HUNT NOR WORRY THE CREATURES WITH FEAR OF HUNGER, FOR ALL SHALL BE FED AND SATISFIED, which I have made to rejoice before my eyes.”’”

The Apocryphon of John (vegetarian): From the Gnostic Nag Hammadi Library, Part 1 of 2

The Nag Hammadi Library is a collection of early Christian and Gnostic manuscripts, also called codices, discovered in 1945, near the Upper Egyptian town of Nag Hammadi. The general dating of the books varies from the 2nd to the 4th century. The collection includes 13 ancient books containing over 50 spiritual texts. Let us now read from Codex II, “The Apocryphon of John” from the Nag Hammadi Library. “‘He is the invisible Spirit, of Whom it is not right to think of Him as a god, or something similar. For He is more than a god, since there is nothing above Him, for no one lords it over Him. For He does not exist in something inferior to Him, since everything exists in Him. For it is He Who establishes Himself. He is eternal, since He does not need anything. For He is total perfection. He did not lack anything, that He might be completed by it; rather He is always completely perfect in Light. He is illimitable, since there is no one prior to Him to set limits to Him. He is unsearchable, since there exists no one prior to Him to examine Him. He is immeasurable, since there was no one prior to Him to measure Him. He is invisible, since no one saw Him. He is eternal, since He exists eternally. He is ineffable, since no one was able to comprehend Him to speak about Him. He is unnamable, since there is no one prior to Him to give Him a name. “‘How am I to speak with you about Him? His aeon is indestructible, at rest and existing in silence, reposing (and) being prior to everything. For He is the Head of all the aeons, and it is He Who gives them strength in His goodness. For we know not the ineffable things, and we do not understand what is immeasurable, except for Him Who came forth from Him, namely (from) the Father. For it is He who told it to us alone. For it is He who looks at Himself in His Light which surrounds Him, namely the Spring of the water of Life. And it is He Who gives to all the aeons and in every way, (and) Who gazes upon His image which He sees in the Spring of the Spirit. It is He Who puts His desire in His Water-light which is in the Spring of the pure Light-water which surrounds Him.’”

From the Sacred Texts of Hòa Hảo Buddhism: "The Master’s Loving Instructions" and "Teaching the Tao to Save People"

From the Sacred Texts of Hòa Hảo Buddhism: "The Master’s Loving Instructions" and "Teaching the Tao to Save People"

Today we present excerpts of the teachings of Prophet Huỳnh Phú Số. “Later, I will be absent for a long time. Then when the people die en masse that they can’t be buried fast enough, I will come back. Whomever I sprinkle the water on will be healed. This is the time I save my disciples and followers. After that, I will be absent for 10 days, so that they may pay their karma. At that time, the sky will be very dark. Water will rise up to these two hemp trees. At that time, Manjushri Bodhisattva will come down to save the people. After the flood, Heaven will send fire to purify the world, which will burn three feet into the Earth’s surface, turning it all red as brick. After the Kali Yuga ends, God and Buddha will use miracles to re-establish the Golden Age. At that time, the true practitioners will have: The compassionate Manjushri Bodhisattva, Rowing the Wisdom boat to save the drowning. Royal boat sails smoothly in the wind, Picking up the practitioners who will enjoy glory and honor.” “My duty is to teach the Tao to save people, not to cure sickness. But people do not understand and keep asking me for medicine, thus I had to reluctantly use some leaves and cold water to help them, so that they had a chance to be near me and listen to the Dharma, and then practice spiritually to escape suffering. However, later on, the sick will be so many, that no doctor can save them fast enough.”

Selections from the Writings of Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche (vegetarian), Part 2 of 2 – Words of Advice

Selections from the Writings of Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche (vegetarian), Part 2 of 2 – Words of Advice

Today, we present to you an excerpt from the writings of Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche, “Words of Advice.” “Listen well, my dear disciples who are gathered here, For all those whose hearts have not been spoiled, consider this: The chances of finding a human existence are one in a hundred. Now that you have found one, if you fail to practice the sublime Dharma, How could you possibly expect to find such an opportunity again? This is why it is crucial that you take advantage of your situation. Conceiving of your body as a servant or a thing to ferry you about, Do not allow it to rest in idleness for even a single moment; Use it well, spurring on your entire body, speech and mind to virtue. You might spend your whole life pursuing only food and clothing, With great effort and without regard for suffering or harmful deeds, But when you die you cannot take even a single thing with you – consider this well. The clothing and alms needed to keep you alive are all you need. You might dine on the finest meal of delicious meat and alcohol, But it all turns into something impure the very next morning, And there is nothing more to it all than that. So be content with life-sustaining provisions and simple clothes, And be a loser when it comes to food, clothing and conversation. If you do not reflect on death and impermanence, There will be no way to practice Dharma purely, Practice will remain an aspiration, one that is constantly postponed, And you may feel regret the day that death comes, but by then it will be too late!”

Be a Torchbearer for God: Questions and Answers, Part 4 of 5

24:24

Be a Torchbearer for God: Questions and Answers, Part 4 of 5

We should devote our life anytime we can, and devote anything we can, to help our brothers and sisters, be it spiritual or material. We are one.(Jesus Christ fed 5,000 people with bread and fish. Fish is meat. Was that a sin? Jesus also helped fishermen get more fish. Was that a sin?) No. The sin is that we did not understand Him. He did not eat fish; He did not feed fish, either. We also eat “fish” every day, but eat vegetarian “fish.” We also call it “fish.” We call it “hamburger,” sometimes we call “veggie hamburger.” Sometimes we are lazy, we call it “hamburger.” We have things like “chicken,” we have things like steamed “fish.” All these are vegetarian. It tastes delicious! And if you are a non-vegetarian and the first time you taste them – it looks like a fish, it tastes like fish – you probably do not know. If we tell you that it's fish, you would believe it. If we tell you it's a hamburger, you would believe it. So, Jesus was a descendant of a clan that had been always vegetarian for thousands of years. If you want to do more research about the Lord's life, you'd better take more time. And also, He went to study in India for 13 years. That's the missing gap in the Bible that you couldn't explain. And if He studied in India, and all the yogis there, the masters, ate vegetarian, how could He eat meat again? That's the two factors you have missed. Of course, the Bible cannot record everything for you; you have to do some research. Yes? The church doesn't want you to be lazy, and put everything on the table. You have to be creative and long for... If you long to know the life of Jesus you have to research yourself, read more books and history and facts and more new findings and all that. Anyhow, the fishermen Jesus recruited, He did not tell them to fish again. He said, "Come, I will teach you how to fish men.” No? Yes, He said, "Put down the net, I'll teach you how to fish men.” But since they were fishermen, Jesus used the term as a fisherman sometimes to talk to them. Just like, "OK, today we caught a big fish" – means they have a good person to get initiated. We say the same thing sometimes, also. Why do I understand all this? Because I have direct teaching. If you want to understand, you also need the direct teaching. I told you I will show you how to get direct teaching from Jesus. Then you can argue with Him and He will tell you He doesn't eat fish. A poor Master! Everybody tells Him He did that, He did this. He'd tell you differently, but you couldn't hear. So, similarly, you remember how difficult it was for Jesus, how many people harassed Him and persecuted Him and His disciples? So, they had to talk in code, said, "Today we have a big ‘fishing’ time," or something like that... or, "Let's go out ‘fishing.’" Because if He really needs fishing, He wouldn't tell His 12 disciples, saying: "Come! Forget it. I'll teach you how to fish men." Now you know. Thanks. The Lord did not eat anything that caused suffering to other beings. He would not. He was a very humble man. He was great in spirit, but very humble and self-denial on the outside. He did not need fish to keep Himself alive. There're so many things to eat on this planet to keep yourself alive.(What is Your opinion about the apostles? Where is Heaven? Is it part of this universe?) The apostles? They were Jesus' closest disciples, to spread His message when He was not there, give people initiation, explain how to meditate and all that. And Heaven is not a part of the universe. Heaven is our own creation, our own attitude. For example, when you are happy, you are in love, you feel you are in Heaven. No matter where you are, you have a little hut, you're happy. And when you are sad, when somebody threatens you, when you are under pressure, you live in a palace, you feel like hell. So, if we are in contact with God, every day we feel like Heaven. That's why we say Heaven can be here and now. "Lo and behold! The Kingdom of God is at hand." It's not far.(Dear Master, should we devote our lives to serving the poor or sick, or would we be interfering with their choice or karma (retribution)?) No, no, no. We should devote our life anytime we can, and devote anything we can, to help our brothers and sisters, be it spiritual or material. Yes? We are one. If he is hungry, you are hungry. If he is thirsty, it's like you are thirsty. It should be like that. It's not a must, it is a feeling inside. If, for example, if you see somebody hungry and thirsty and dying, and you feel very painful, as if you yourself are in that situation, then you help him. That is a measurement of your love, of your level of compassion. It's not a must. It's not a precept to follow; it is a feeling in your heart. If you know you feel you should help that person, that means you have love in your heart, and you should be happy. That's the only reward, that knowing that you have love. And you should do it. Thank you.(I feel a lot of love, but trapped inside me. Can You help me spread it around the universe?) You spread it. It's your love. If you love, do something. If you love, just like if you love a boyfriend or girlfriend, tell her, tell him you love him, do something for him. Give her flowers, hugs, kisses, do whatever. So, the same, if you love all human beings, then do something about it. Do something you think that would let people know your love, or shower them with your love. Do it. You know what to do. You have God inside you. Do it honestly with your feelings. Everyone does it differently. I cannot tell you what to do.(What happens to those who do not follow instructions and the scriptures of the Lord?) What happens? They have to learn again the lesson of love. Maybe they have to learn it in a hard way, and that we call hell. He also has to go through suffering in order to understand that the suffering is no good and that he not do it again. So, in a way, he'll be in a hospital, kind of way, so that he can heal the part that was sick. Anyone who inflicts suffering upon someone else, he's sick somewhere in his spiritual being. So after he gets healed, he becomes whole again. There's just the way people chose to live their life that leads to different consequences. That's why in the Bible it tells you: "Whatever you sow, so shall you reap," "Judge not, so that you will not be judged." If we don't want to reap the bad consequence of the future, then we have to sow good seeds right now, see? That's why the Bible gives you guidance like, OK: "Shall not kill, shall not commit lie, shall not steal," things like that. Make it a guidance through our lives, so that we reap the better fruit for the future.(If you have faith in God, why should we suffer and our prayers not be answered?) Because you have to rise up to God consciousness to know this, and then you will be content. Even when you come back to this physical life, after you have seen how much God loves us, through the spiritual knowledge, you come back to this life, you don't complain any more. You know everything, why this happened, why that happened – everything is for our best benefit. We will be always grateful every day. You have to know God first, yes.(How important is ten percent of whatever you earn important to God?) It is important, because you love. It's your love. It's not the ten percent, it's the love that goes with it. It's the love to share whatever you have with other people who are less fortunate. That's important.(When one rises above the physical body, how would it be possible to differentiate true situations from, for example, hallucination?) Yes, there is a way to differentiate. I will teach you at the time of initiation. But only people who want to go deeply into the spiritual dimensions should learn much about all these things. So, we have to show you the way to protect yourself. But if you just meditate for 10 minutes, 20 minutes, it's OK. There is nothing to bother you. You just relax, calm your mind, you do better business, sleep better, eat well. That's it. Know God now and again. There's no danger.(Is it necessary to attend church every Sunday so as to be reminded, or can one still remember oneself by communicating with God by heart?) By heart, yes, if you can. If you can communicate with God by heart, you can pray in the closet, the way it is stated in the Bible. The church came after Jesus. The church is an organization that gathers people who have faith in God and who want to pray together. It's similar to our group; every Sunday we gather together in one place. It could be called a church too, but we call it a meditation center – and we meditate the whole day that day, just to remember God intensively, more than other days, because we're always busy every day. So that's the meaning of really going to the church every day – to get more communication, deep communication, with our true Self, with God. And it is stronger when you meditate together. If you want to sleep and you see the neighbor is sitting straight, you feel ashamed, so you also sit straight. That's the purpose. And you help each other in collective energy. But if you already know God, everywhere you sit is the church. You should go to church every day inside, not just Sunday.(I want to know where is the true secret of God, and being a vegetarian, can I smoke marijuana?) I know what you try to say. Anyhow, where is the true secret of God? That, you have to find out. I will show you how to find out, but you have to find yourself. I can't explain God in the physical terms. The more I explain, the more I mislead you. Yes? I can show you God. That's all I can do. And marijuana, as far as I am concerned, is not really necessary for your vegetarian (vegan) diet. So do not include it in there. It's not a very conducive vegetable to your meditation, so please refrain from using it.(He also wants to know if he can eat marijuana, then.) You are so hungry! My God! So many vegetables, you don't have enough? I advise you to eat tofu. Yes. You can fry spinach. It's better for you. Anything, anything that makes our consciousness blurred and not clear, this is not a God way. God's way – no need physical aids, no need anything because God is God! You can't change Hirm, you can't make Hirm come nearer, you can't bring Hirm where you want just because of marijuana or anything else. You can only know God. That's it – pure and simple, know God. Just concentrate, forget the world, and concentrate on God's side, then you will see God. I just show you how, that's it. There's no need for anything. And the vegetarian (vegan) we eat, it's just because we just have to eat a little of something to sustain this body. Anything we eat to sustain the body, enough nutrition, to keep our spirit alive, that's good enough already. We are not here to eat. We're here to know God. All right?(Question from the same person: Am I poor because of my thinking or my belief?) We are poor because of our beliefs. But it's too late now. Our planet has been led into believing that we have been sinful and we’re being punished for our sins, and all that stuff, and so... We should live a rich life here, but before this era, we had a golden era. Have you heard about it, right? In the Golden Age, right? – long ago. In that age, people knew God, believed in God, because they saw God, they felt God's love. And at that time, there was no teaching such as a revengeful God, jealous God, or there was no such teaching as hell, because everywhere was Heaven. But then, some bad people invented this kind of fear, so-called, to control the population. And slowly, slowly, this fear crept into our consciousness and we began slowly to believe that we are sinful, we are bad, we couldn't know God because we are forsaken, we are born in sin, we always sin, and everything we do is sin. So our consciousness has become conditioned that way. That's why we also failed in our business, we became poorer, we became deprived of many comforts, including material ones. But it's a little too late now to change drastically. The whole consciousness of the planet has been ingrained into this way of thinking. But it's not too late for you. If you are ready to change, change it today. Believe what I tell you, and experience the love of God within you every day. Then you will see how your life changes. You will know God is really love and whatever you ask for is already there.(What is the difference between Your way of meditation and talking or praying in tongues? Because it is said that talking in tongues is talking to God. How true is that?) Both are true. Different levels of understanding about God. In our way, we don't talk even. We don't even talk with the mouth or the tongue. We don't use anything of the physical instrument. We go directly to Heaven, enjoy the carefree life without this physical body. And God doesn't speak to us in the human language. Hes does also, sometimes. But we don't speak it out loud, or we don't need to do anything, we just communicate, and we understand in a Godly way, celestial way, which is a silent way.(Dear Master, what are Your hardships that You have experienced in Your walks of life? Please share with me.) Well, I do not consider really anything a hardship, even though in those moments I do complain. Well, like all of us, I complain, I say, "Why? I don't like it!" But, of course, I know it is good for me. Any hardship would strengthen our spirit and determination to find God, to let us know that as long as we still cling to this physical, ephemeral existence, we always will encounter hardship. There is no hardship in Heaven. So, whenever we leave this body during meditation or deep contemplation and go to Heaven, we experience all bliss and beauty. And then when we come back to this physical body, still some blessing's leftover, so that our life becomes even smoother and better. So even hardship is just a blessing in disguise, no problem. I can write a book about hardship, but why? I'd rather write a book about the blessings that I enjoy.

Selections from “The Astral City” - Chapter 7: Lysias Explains

Numerous books have been written that provide insights into the afterlife and the soul’s immortality. One such volume is “Nosso Lar,” or “The Astral City,” by Spirit André Luiz through Spiritist medium Francisco Cândido Xavier. Francisco Cândido Xavier was a well-known Brazilian philanthropist who co-authored more than 400 books. In “The Astral City,” former medical doctor André Luiz speaks from the afterlife of his awakening and healing within a spiritual society near the Earth’s surface. This story describes not only the continuation of life beyond the physical body, but more importantly, how Heaven cares for each and every human soul. The following excerpt from “The Astral City” describes how André Luiz was strengthened spiritually upon his rescue from the Lower Zones. “‘Death of the physical body does not take man instantly to miraculous spheres. Every evolutionary process progresses through graduation. There are countless planes for discarnate Spirits, just as there are many wondrous regions for those still in flesh. All souls, feelings, forms and things are governed by the principles of natural evolution and hierarchy.’” “‘On the day you prayed with all your heart,’ continued Lysias, ‘when you realized that everything in the Universe belongs to our Almighty Father, even your tears were different. As you know, rain can at times be creative, at other times destructive. The Lord doesn’t wait for our prayers to love us. Yet, just as a dirty mirror cannot reflect the light, it is indispensable for us to cleanse ourselves and build a receptive attitude in order to understand His infinite goodness. Thus, it is not the Father who needs our penance, it is we who need it for the inestimable service it renders us.’” “‘Right, but keep in mind that all deserving petitions should contain three basic prerequisites: an active will, persevering work, and merit. In other words, one must first wish, then work towards that wish, and finally be deserving of what he requested.’”

Enlightenment: From The Way of Initiation by Dr. Rudolf Steiner (vegetarian), Part 2 of 2

11:18

Enlightenment: From The Way of Initiation by Dr. Rudolf Steiner (vegetarian), Part 2 of 2

“He who is in search of occult knowledge must fortify himself throughout the whole course of his efforts by the understanding, that after persevering for some time, he may have made suitable progress without becoming conscious of it in the precise way which he had expected. He who does not remember this, is likely to lose heart, and in a little while to abandon his efforts altogether. The mental powers and faculties about to be developed are at first, of the most subtle kind, and their nature differs entirely from the conceptions of them, which may be formed in the student’s mind. He has been accustomed to occupy himself with the physical world alone, and the mental and astral worlds seem to elude his gaze, and baffle his conceptions. It is, therefore, not remarkable if, at first, he fails to realize the new forces, mental and astral, which are developing in his own being. This is why it is dangerous to enter the path leading to occult knowledge without experienced guidance.”“The teacher can see the progress made by the pupil, long before the latter becomes conscious of it for himself. He sees the delicate organs of spiritual vision beginning to form themselves, before the pupil is aware of their existence, and a great part of the duties of the teacher consists in perpetual watchfulness, lest the disciple lose confidence, patience, and perseverance, before he becomes conscious of his own progress. The teacher, as we know, can confer upon the student no powers, which are not already latent within him, and his sole function is to assist in the awakening of slumbering faculties. But he may be a pillar of strength to him who strives to penetrate through darkness into the light.”“There are many who leave the occult path soon after setting foot upon it, because they are not immediately conscious of their own progress. And even when higher experiences begin to dawn upon the seeker, he is apt to regard them as illusions, because he had anticipated them quite differently. He loses courage, either because he regards these first experiences as of no value, or because they appear so insignificant that he has no hope of their leading to any appreciable results within a measurable time. Courage and self-confidence are the two lamps, which must never be allowed to burn themselves out on the pathway to the occult. He who cannot patiently repeat an exercise, which has failed for an apparently unlimited number of times, will never travel far.”

Selections from Jagatguru Adi Shankaracharya’s Hymns – "Shivananda Lahari," Part 1 of 2

12:53

Selections from Jagatguru Adi Shankaracharya’s Hymns – "Shivananda Lahari," Part 1 of 2

Born in 8th Century India, Jagatguru Adi Shankaracharya showed an early interest in spiritual life. By age eight, He had read and understood all of the Vedic scriptures. After receiving permission to leave home in pursuit of spiritual attainment, He met and received instruction from Guru Govinda Bhagavatpada. Shankaracharya went on to write commentaries on the ancient doctrine, “Advaita Vedanta” as well as the “Bhagavad Gita” and the ten principal Upanishads. He became known as the founder of the Smartha tradition, which brought together several branches of the Hindu faith and highlights the oneness of the inner Self (Atman) with the Supreme God (Nirguna Brahman). Shankaracharya also composed 72 hymns of praise and reverence for the Divine, dedicated to Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva. “Shivananda Lahari,” or “Waves of the Bliss of Shiva,” is one of the devotional hymns composed by Adi Shankaracharya.“Oh Lord Shambu, who grants us happiness, Let these waves of ecstasy of Lord Shiva, Flowing from the holy history of yours, Calming the dusts of sin forever, Rushing from the canals of wisdom, Falling into the whirlpool of life, Dousing the fires of sorrow, Living in my heart as senses, Be always victorious. I pray with all my heart, Him who is known by the three Vedas, Him who is pleasant to the mind, Him who is first among everything, Him who has all seeing three eyes, Him who carries the weight of matted lock, With eminence great, Him who wears the moving snake as necklace, Him who holds the jumping deer in his hand, Him who is greatest among devas, Him who shines with glitter, Him who has mercy on me, Him who is the Lord of all beings, Him who is the only support to holy wisdom, Him who is always with my Goddess, And Him who is a great entertainer.”

Excerpts from “A Conversation Among Five Travelers Concerning Life’s True Happiness” by Hryhorii Skovoroda (vegetarian)

13:24

Excerpts from “A Conversation Among Five Travelers Concerning Life’s True Happiness” by Hryhorii Skovoroda (vegetarian)

Hryhorii Skovoroda, was an 18th century philosopher, poet, and composer of religious music. A number of his songs can be found in his writings, and several of them have been adapted to Ukrainian folk music. Skovoroda’s work contributed to the culture of both Russia and Ukraine. He is considered to be one of the key philosophical figures during the transition from the Middle Ages to the modern time. His work also revealed a deep belief in Godliness and a life of spiritual rather than material value. Skovoroda’s writings are in Socratic dialog form and are genuinely imaginative, witty, dramatic, and always have a theme that highlights happiness and appreciation of life. He has been called a “Socrates” both as a moralist and one whose work is intended to stimulate thought and self-introspection. We now share with you excerpts from his writings on “A Conversation Among Five Travelers Concerning Life’s True Happiness.” Wisdom: “Wisdom is like the sharp and far-seeing eye of the eagle, and virtue is like manly arms joined to the nimble legs of a deer. This divine union is vividly depicted in the following fable.” “‘That is not the end of the matter,’ said the blind man, ‘you are a light and precious burden to me: I shall carry you, my treasure, on my back. Let your clear eyes be the eternal masters of my body and a head to all my members. Put an end to the torment of this primordial darkness that hounds me inhumanly along the empty path of the body’s distractions. I am your steed; mount upon my shoulders and guide me, dearest brother and master.’ ‘I shall mount up willingly, my brother, in order to show the truth of the word of God written by the author of Proverbs: ‘Brother helped by brother is like a firm and tall city, strong like a well-founded kingdom.’” Nature and Happiness: “Nature, our most merciful Mother and the Father of all our pleasures, has opened the path to happiness to all creatures that breathe without exception. But the trouble is that we do not try to find out precisely where happiness lies. We grab and clutch what merely presents an attractive appearance as though it were a firm foundation. Lack of counsel is the source of our unhappiness. It makes us prisoners, representing the bitter as sweet and the sweet as bitter.”
