Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations: Selection from Book 4, Part 2 of 2

Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations: Selection from Book 4, Part 2 of 2

Founding his beliefs on the teachings of Stoicism, the Roman emperor was also diligent in finding his own way of self-improvement. This 12-volume work has been revered by many other philosophers over the centuries and is praised as a real testament to a government of duty and service. We now continue with excerpts from the personal reflective notes of Marcus Aurelius in Book 4 of “Meditations.” “What is ‘eternal’ fame? Emptiness. Then what should we work for? Only this: proper understanding; unselfish action; truthful speech. A resolve to accept whatever happens as necessary and familiar, flowing like water from that same source and spring. Everything [is] transitory – the knower and the known. Constant awareness that everything is born from change. The knowledge that there is nothing nature loves more than to alter what exists and make new things like it.”

The Songs of Kabir (vegetarian): Selections from 1 to 26, Part 2 of 2

Music is all around it, and there the heart partakes of the joy of the Infinite Sea. Kabir says: “Dive thou into that Ocean of sweetness: thus let all errors of life and of death flee away.” Behold how the thirst of the five senses is quenched there! And the three forms of misery are no more! Kabir says: “It is the sport of the Unattainable One: look within, and behold how the moon-beams of that Hidden One shine in you.” There falls the rhythmic beat of life and death: Rapture wells forth, and all space is radiant with light. There the Unstruck Music is sounded; it is the music of the love of the three worlds. There millions of lamps of sun and of moon are burning; There the drum beats; and the lover swings in play. There love-songs resound, and light rains in showers; and the worshipper is entranced in the taste of the heavenly nectar. Look upon life and death; there is no separation between them, The right hand and the left hand are one and the same.

From One Soul to Another, Part 2 of 3

26:02

From One Soul to Another, Part 2 of 3

“God is always there because God is the Supreme Master within ourselves, within each of us, and Hes knows everything, Hes hears all the prayers, and Hes grants all wishes. But we must know how to listen to Hirm, we must have the direct contact with Hirm so we know what Hes wants us to do. In order to contact this Holy Spirit within us or God within us, we have to forsake the flesh for the spirit, and I will show you how to do that while you are still living, when busying with the business of your daily lives. ‘Forsake the flesh for the spirit,’ as it says in the Bible, doesn’t mean that you leave everything and you don’t do anything,or you don’t eat or you don’t work. It’s just that you forsake it in a way that we will just go in the Kingdom of God with our own spirit while the body is still here.” “There is no way, no method at all, because God is always there. So, even when I talk a lot, a lot, and you think this is the way to God – no! When I show you the way to God, I don’t speak, I don’t do anything, because your soul is God, your soul will know what my soul tells you in silence.”

How Suffering Can Lead Us to Happiness: Questions and Answers, Part 3 of 3 # 333 Sydney, Australia – March 16, 1993

How Suffering Can Lead Us to Happiness: Questions and Answers, Part 3 of 3 # 333 Sydney, Australia – March 16, 1993

(As You said, enlightenment will cause us to ignore everything such as wealth, illness or a higher position in society. …but how about illness? We suffer every minute.) We just do not feel so much suffering the way we did before enlightenment, that’s all. We will tend to our body as much as we can. We give it as much comfort as it needed, and we give the medical care and all that. Should we have to suffer from illnesses, our patience, our enduring power, increases, and therefore the illness doesn’t bother us much. I do not say we ignore it completely; it doesn’t bother us that much. And even after enlightenment, many of our illnesses just disappear; it is not miracles. It is because our super-power Self awakens and regulates some of the misconstructing part in our body and destroys it. So, many people found themselves with no more cancer, and even though they were already put on the operating table, and anesthetic needles were already admitted to them, then the doctors found to their amazement that there was no more cancer there, so they were pushed outside again. So we don’t ignore the illness; illness seems to ignore enlightened people.

From Godfré Ray King’s Unveiled Mysteries – Revealed Ancient Wisdom by Ascended Master Saint Germain (vegetarian), Part 1 of 2

Guy Warren Ballard was a United States mining engineer and a co-founder, together with his wife Edna Anne Wheeler Ballard, of the “I AM” spiritual movement, inspired by his life-changing meeting with the Ascended Master Saint Germain. From Master Saint Germain’s dictation and teachings, Mr. Ballard wrote a series of books under the pseudonym Godfré Ray King. Today, the volumes documenting the precious mysteries revealed by the Ascended Master to Godfré Ray King are still a fascinating spiritual gem for many across the globe. The three most famous volumes are titled “Unveiled Mysteries,” “The Magic Presence,” and “The ‘I AM’ Discourses.” We will now read a passage from Guy Warren Ballard's, or Godfré Ray King’s book “Unveiled Mysteries.” “The Truth of Life is you cannot desire that which is not possible of manifestation somewhere in the universe. The more intense the feeling within the desire, the more quickly it will be attained. However, if one is foolish enough to desire something that will injure another of God’s children or any other part of His Creation, then that person will pay the penalty in discord and failure somewhere in his own Life’s experience.” “It is very important to realize fully that God’s intent for every one of His children is abundance of every good and perfect thing. He created Perfection and endowed His children with exactly the same power. They can create and maintain Perfection also and express God - dominion over the earth and all that is therein. Mankind was originally created in the Image: and Likeness of God. The only reason all do not manifest This dominion is because they do not use their Divine Authority - that with which each individual is endowed and by which he is intended to govern his world. Thus, they are not obeying the Law of Love by pouring out peace and blessing to all creation.” “The Eternal Law of Life is that - ‘Whatever you think and feel you bring into form; where your thought is, there you are - for you are your consciousness; and whatever you meditate upon - you become.’”

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 4 of 4 - The Glorious Transcendence

13:52

The Golden Thread of Wisdom That Lights the World, Part 4 of 4 - The Glorious Transcendence

As we know from previous episodes, we have a noble origin; we are created by a God who wants to help us become unburdened of our endless karma. So it must be possible that we can achieve Transcendence, or freedom from the cycle of death and rebirth. Sant Mat Spiritual Gems By Hazur Maharaj Sawan Singh Ji (vegetarian): “As to the good and bad things or the sin and the virtue, both becoming meaningless, that may be. When you leave the British Territory and pass into the land of the Pathans, who can ask you to account for your deeds? While you are here in the region of Kal (negative force), you have to account for all that you do. Once you cross over to the region of Dayal (Merciful), who can touch you? This applies only when you have actually crossed the boundary of Kal. Until then it is only a saying. But the scroll is torn when you devote yourself to Naam; that is, by practice of Surat Shabd Yoga.” Sikhism Holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib: “Meeting with the True Guru, you shall not have to go through the cycle of reincarnation again; the pains of birth and death will be taken away. Through the Perfect Word of the Shabad (inner Heavenly Sound), all understanding is obtained; remain absorbed in the Name of the Lord. O my mind, focus your consciousness on the True Guru. The Immaculate Naam (God’s Name) itself, ever-fresh, comes to abide within the mind.” Essenes Essene Gospel of Peace: “Seek not the law in your scriptures, for the Law is Life, whereas the scripture is dead. I tell you truly, Moses received not his laws from God in writing, but through the living Word. The Law is living Word of living God to living prophets for living men.” Dadu Dayal The Compassionate Mystic: “God-realization is possible only in the human form. It is solely as a human being that one can cross the vast ocean of the world by riding the boat of the true Name of the Lord.” Supreme Master Ching Hai has spoken on many occasions of this ancient way to connect with our inner Nature, leading to complete liberation. “If we want to know that we are one, we want to truly know it and not just hear it from someone or feel it, we have to really know it. If you want to really know it, it’s not difficult. We only have to turn inward and ‘listen inwardly to our inner Nature,’ then we will find our own Buddha Nature in an instant.”

From the Essenes Gospel of Peace: Excerpts from Book One – Purification in God’s Love, Part 2 of 2 (old WOW 863)

The Essenes were often found in communities where meditation or prayer was an important part of daily life that was dedicated to God. With respect for all forms of life, the Essenes’ diet was purely vegetarian. Today we continue with enlightening excerpts from the Essene Gospel of Peace, as we learn more about the important connection between our physical and spiritual states. “When you can gaze on the brightness of the noonday Sun with unflinching eyes, you can then look upon the blinding Light of your Heavenly Father, which is a thousand times brighter than the brightness of a thousand Suns. But how should you look upon the blinding Light of your Heavenly Father, when you cannot even bear the shining of the blazing Sun? Believe me, the Sun is as the flame of a candle beside the Sun of Truth of the Heavenly Father. Have but faith, therefore, and hope, and love. I tell you truly, you shall not want your reward. If you believe in my words, you believe in Him who sent me, who is the Lord of all, and with whom all things are possible.”

The Foundation of Creation: From the Book of the Secrets of Enoch (vegetarian), Part 1 of 2

The Foundation of Creation: From the Book of the Secrets of Enoch (vegetarian), Part 1 of 2

The Book of the Secrets of Enoch, also known as the Second Book of Enoch, or Old Bulgarian Enoch, is an ancient religious text, which describes the intensity of the Antediluvian (pre-Flood) time period. The Book of Enoch contains unique material on why the Great Flood was morally necessary, why some angels fell from Heaven, and prophetic revelations of the thousand-year reign of the Messiah. But the main message is one of hope, that God will be the guiding Light for those who are righteous. Chapter 21 “And the Cherubim (angelic beings) and seraphim (Heavenly beings) standing about the throne, the six-winged and many-eyed ones do not depart, standing before the Lord’s face doing His will, and cover His whole throne, singing with gentle voice before the Lord’s face: ‘Holy, holy, holy, Lord Ruler of Sabaoth, Heavens and Earth are full of Your glory.’” Chapter 22 “On the tenth Heaven (which is called) Aravoth, I saw the appearance of the Lord’s face, like iron made to glow in fire, and brought out, emitting sparks, and it burns.” Chapter 23 “And he was telling me all the works of Heaven, Earth and sea, and all the elements, their passages and goings, and the thunderings of the thunders, the Sun and Moon, the goings and changes of the stars, the seasons, years, days, and hours, the risings of the wind, the numbers of the angels, and the formation of their songs, and all human things, the tongue of every human song and life, the commandments, instructions, and sweet-voiced singings, and all things that it is fitting to learn.” “And Pravuil told me: ‘All the things that I have told you, we have written. Sit and write all the souls of mankind, however many of them are born, and the places prepared for them to eternity; for all souls are prepared to eternity, before the formation of the world.’”

Holy Laws on Protecting the Animals - Selection from “In Front of the Blind" by Jewish Scholar Asa Keisar (vegan), Part 1 of 2

Holy Laws on Protecting the Animals - Selection from “In Front of the Blind" by Jewish Scholar Asa Keisar (vegan), Part 1 of 2

The respected Asa Keisar is an Israeli religious scholar who’s on a mission of spreading veganism all across Israel and the world. Asa Keisar is a frequent lecture in universities, elementary and high schools, and yeshivot (Jewish educational religious institutions) throughout Israel. His speeches feature statements from the Holy Torah about the incorrectness of consuming animal products, especially in our modern world. Mr. Keisar is also the author of an important Jewish guide, “In Front of the Blind,” or “Velifnei Iver Hashalem.” Through straightforward holy laws, the selection clearly shows how humans must treat all animals, namely with care and mercy. “One must also have mercy upon animals because it is forbidden to cause undue pain or anguish to an animal. The attribute of mercy is the sign of the children of Abraham, the seed of Israel. As it is written, ‘He will give you mercy, be merciful and multiply you.’” “Rabbi Joseph Albo: ‘The consumption of flesh from living creatures gives birth to spiritual corpulence, murkiness and inflexibility of the soul...’” “Metzudat David: ‘The righteous person pays attention even to the needs of their animal to fulfill its craving - because God greatly values mercy.’”

Christ’s Unique Occasion – From “The Reappearance of the Christ” by Alice Bailey, Part 1 of 2

Christ’s Unique Occasion – From “The Reappearance of the Christ” by Alice Bailey, Part 1 of 2

Alice Bailey was an extraordinary British American esoteric author of the 20th century. Born in 1880, Alice Bailey, in her youth, was a devoted Christian who later developed an extensive knowledge and practice of Theosophy. In 1919, at the age of 39, she began a spiritual journey of inner telepathic communications with the Great Ascended Master Djwal Khul, also called “The Tibetan” or “Master D.K.” Over the next three decades, until the end of her life, the Master thus transmitted ancient teachings of the Ageless Wisdom to His chosen disciple, which she diligently recorded as 19 books. In addition, Alice Bailey wrote other profound books on her own. We will now read an excerpt from Alice Bailey’s Chapter Two – “Christ’s Unique Occasion,” from her book entitled, “The Reappearance of the Christ.” “The resurrection period, which the Christ will inaugurate and which will constitute His unique work — within which all His other activities will have their place — will be the outcome of the fermentation and the germination going on in the world of men at this time, of which the many conferences are the outer evidence.” “It was the dawning of this significance of the will of God upon the consciousness of the Christ, which led Him to certain great decisions, and which forced Him to cry out: ‘Father, not my will but Thine be done.’ These words definitely indicate conflict and do not indicate the synchronization of the two wills; they indicate the determination on the part of the Christ that there should be no opposition between His will and that of God. Suddenly, He received a vision of the emerging, divine intention for humanity and — through humanity — for the planet as a whole. At the particular stage of spiritual development, which Christ had then attained and which had made Him the Head of the spiritual Hierarchy, the One who engineered the emergence of the Kingdom of God and established Him as the Master of all the Masters and the Teacher of angels and of men, His consciousness was absolutely at one with the divine Plan; its application on Earth and its goal of establishing the Kingdom of God and the appearance of the fifth kingdom in nature was simply for Him the fulfilling of the law, and to that fulfilment His entire life was and had been geared.”

Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian) Our Savior – From the Gospel of Luke (vegetarian) in the Holy Bible: Part 2 of 2

Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian) Our Savior – From the Gospel of Luke (vegetarian) in the Holy Bible: Part 2 of 2

We will now continue with the reading from Chapter 7 in the Gospel of Luke of the Holy Bible. In these verses, we will learn about some of the miracles Lord Jesus performed while on His mission to spread the word of God.Jesus and John the Baptist “When the men came to Jesus, they said, ‘John the Baptist sent us to You to ask, “Are You the One Who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”’ At that very time, Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind. So, He replied to the messengers, ‘Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.’” “After John’s messengers left, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: ‘What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swayed by the wind? If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear expensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces. But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. This is the One about Whom it is written: “I will send My Messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.” I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the One Who is least in the Kingdom of God is greater than he.’”Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman “Then He turned toward the woman and said to Simon, ‘Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven - as her great love has shown. But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.’ Then Jesus said to her, ‘Your sins are forgiven.’ The other guests began to say among themselves, ‘Who is this Who even forgives sins?’ Jesus said to the woman, ‘Your faith has saved you; go in peace.’”

On Love: from Socrates’ Dialogue with Diotima of Mantinea in “Symposium” by Plato (vegetarian), Part 1 of 2

On Love: from Socrates’ Dialogue with Diotima of Mantinea in “Symposium” by Plato (vegetarian), Part 1 of 2

The Venerated Socrates was born in Athens, Greece circa 470 BC. Many people consider him to be the father of Western philosophy. Others think of Him as an insightful teacher and an enlightened Master. We will now read a selected part from Plato's well-known work “Symposium.” The text depicts a gathering of notable men during a banquet, where they exchange philosophical thoughts. In one of the dialogues, Socrates recollects his conversation with the seer and priestess Diotima about the idea and nature of love. In this dialogue with Diotima, where Love is referred to as a “great spirit,” we find the origin of the concept of Platonic love. “For God mingles not with man; but through Love all the communion and converse of God with man, whether awake or asleep, is carried on. The wisdom which understands this is spiritual. Now these spirits or intermediate powers are many and diverse, and one of them is Love.” “The truth of the matter is this: No god is a philosopher or seeker after wisdom, for he is wise already; nor does any man who is wise seek after wisdom. Neither do the ignorant seek after Wisdom. For herein is the evil of ignorance, that he who is neither good nor wise is nevertheless satisfied with himself: he has no desire for that of which he feels no want.”

Expressions of Life: A Collection of Poetry by Abu Al- ‘Ala’ Al-Ma’arri (vegan), Part 1 of 2

Abu Al- ‘Ala’ Al-Ma’arri is considered as one of the greatest classical Arab poets. Born near Aleppo, Syria in 973, Al-Ma’arri, also a writer and philosopher, came from a notable family of the famous ancient tribal confederation called Tanūkh. There, he was highly respected as a scholar as he continued his dedication to writing, collaborated with others and attracted many local students, despite his ascetic and secluded way of life. Al-Ma’arri is remembered for his ideals for social justice, equality between people, and freedom of thought and expression. He saw life mostly as a burden to the soul, an experience for which one needs to learn reason in order to distinguish the truth from the false. He believed in God, but not in human-established religions, as he understood them. His collections of poetry include “The Tinder Spark” (“Saqt Az-Zand”) and “Unnecessary Necessity” (“Luzūm Mā Lam Yalzam”). Al-Ma’arri is thought to have influenced Dante Alighieri’s famous poem “Divine Comedy,” as well as the Persian philosopher and poet Omar Khayyam, and many medieval writers of the West. Abu Al- ‘Ala’ Al-Ma’arri was a compassionate vegan, describing his decision of saving and respecting the lives of the gentle animals in a poem called “I No Longer Steal from Nature.” “The body, which gives you during life a form, Is but your vase: be not deceived, my soul! Cheap is the bowl for storing honey in, But precious for the contents of the bowl.” “You are diseased in understanding and religion. Come to me, that you may hear something of sound truth. Do not unjustly eat fish the water has given up, And do not desire as food the flesh of slaughtered animals, Or the white milk of mothers who intended its pure draught for their young, not noble ladies. And do not grieve the unsuspecting birds by taking eggs; for injustice is the worst of crimes. And spare the honey which the bees get industriously from the flowers of fragrant plants; For they did not store it that it might belong to others, Nor did they gather it for bounty and gifts. I washed my hands of all this; and wish that I Perceived my way before my hair went gray!” “But some hope a divine leader with prophetic voice Will rise amid the gazing silent ranks. An idle thought! There’s none to lead but reason, To point the morning and the evening ways.”

The Apocryphon of John (vegetarian): From the Gnostic Nag Hammadi Library, Part 2 of 2

Today, we will continue with the fascinating reading from Codex II, “The Apocryphon of John” from the Nag Hammadi Library. “‘And His thought performed a deed and She came forth, namely She Who had appeared before Him in the shine of His Light. This is the first power which was before all of them (and) which came forth from His Mind. She is the forethought of the All – Her light shines like His Light – the perfect power which is the image of the invisible, virginal Spirit Who is perfect. The first power, the glory of Barbelo (the first entity arisen from God), the perfect glory in the aeons, the glory of the revelation, She glorified the virginal Spirit and it was She Who praised Him, because thanks to Him She had come forth. This is the first thought, His image; She became the womb of everything, for it is She Who is prior to them all, the Mother-Father, the first man, the holy Spirit, the thrice-male, the thrice-powerful, the thrice named androgynous one, and the eternal aeon among the invisible ones, and the first to come forth.” “‘This is the pentad of the aeons of the Father, which is the first man, the image of the invisible Spirit; it is the forethought, which Barbelo, and the thought, and the foreknowledge, and the indestructibility, and the eternal life, and the truth. This is the androgynous pentad of the aeons, which is the decade of the aeons, which is the Father.’ ‘And He looked at Barbelo with the pure Light which surrounds the invisible Spirit, and (with) His spark, and She conceived from Him. He begot a spark of light with a light resembling blessedness. But it does not equal His greatness. This was an only-begotten child of the Mother-Father which had come forth; it is the only offspring, the only-begotten One of the Father, the pure Light.” “‘And from the foreknowledge of the perfect mind, through the revelation of the will of the invisible Spirit and the will of the Autogenes, the perfect Man (appeared), the first Revelation, and the Truth. It is He (Adam) Whom the virginal Spirit called Pigera-Adamas, and He placed Him over the first aeon with the Mighty One, the Autogenes, the Christ, by the first light (angel) Armozel; and with Him are His powers. And the invisible One gave Him a spiritual, invincible power. And He spoke and glorified and praised the invisible Spirit, saying, ‘It is for Thy sake that everything has come into being and everything will return to Thee. I shall praise and glorify Thee and the Autogenes and the aeons, the three: the Father, the Mother, and the Son, the perfect power.’”

How to Attain Knowledge of the Higher Worlds by Dr. Rudolf Steiner (vegetarian), Part 3 of 3 (old WOW 864 865)

“Now the important thing that everyone must clearly understand is that, for him who is right in the midst of the objective civilization of our time, it is very difficult to advance to the knowledge of the higher worlds. He can do so only if he works energetically within himself. At a time when the conditions of outward life were simpler, spiritual exaltation was easier of attainment.” “He who seeks for higher knowledge must create it within himself; he himself must instill it into his soul. It cannot be done by study; it can only be done through living.”“If I meet a brother and blame him for his weakness, I rob myself of power to win the higher knowledge; but if I try to enter lovingly into his merits, I then gather such power.” “Every moment, in which we set ourselves to banish from our consciousness whatever remains in it of disparaging, suspicious judgment of our fellow-men, brings us nearer to the knowledge of higher things.”

Selections from The Zen Poetry of Dōgen (vegetarian) – Verses from the Mountain of Eternal Peace: Part II, Chapter 3

Zen Buddhist Master Dōgen Zenji was the founder of the Sōtō school of Zen Buddhism in Japan, which promotes sitting meditation as the way to enlightenment. The Buddhist Master was one of the most remarkable Zen Masters in history and was also an outstanding poet. The book, "The Zen Poetry of Dōgen - Verses from the Mountain of Eternal Peace," is by Dōgen scholar Steven Heine. It is a complete translation of Dōgen’s collection of thirty-one-syllable Japanese poetry, or waka, plus a translation of a selection of the Master's Chinese verse, or kanshi. It offers a distinct and revealing insight into Master Dōgen’s unique style of Zen naturalist and aesthetic philosophy. "My companions Trekking The six realms - I recognize my father! There is my mother! Contemplating the clear moon Reflecting a mind as the open sky - Drawn by its beauty, I lose myself In the shadows it casts. How to Attain Knowledge of the Higher Worlds by Dr. Rudolf Steiner (vegetarian), Part 1 of 3 (old WOW 864 865)

How to Attain Knowledge of the Higher Worlds by Dr. Rudolf Steiner (vegetarian), Part 1 of 3 (old WOW 864 865)

Born in 1861, Dr Rudolf Steiner was a great Austrian polymath, a philosopher and scientist who made influential contributions in the fields of education, science, spirituality, and medicine. Today we’ll read a passage from Dr. Rudolf Steiner’s book “The Way of Initiation,” in which he shares his deep inner realizations on how we are all capable of discovering the inner knowledge and treasures of the Spirit. “In the first place, he who strives earnestly after the higher knowledge need not be afraid of any difficulty or obstacle in his search for an Initiate who shall be able to lead him into the profounder secrets of the world. For it is a strict law with all Initiates to withhold from no man the knowledge that is due him. But there is an equally strict law which insists that no one shall receive any occult knowledge until he is worthy and well prepared.”

From the Books of the Apocrypha: The Wisdom of Solomon, Part 1 of 2

10:56

From the Books of the Apocrypha: The Wisdom of Solomon, Part 1 of 2

The Apocrypha are a group of ancient books with uncertain authorship whose contents overlap parts of the Christian and Hebrew Bibles. The term “apocrypha” means “secret,” “hidden,” or “non-canonical.” One of the Apocrypha books is The Wisdom of Solomon, in which wisdom is personified – such is the emphasis placed on that virtue. Today we’ll read a passage from The Wisdom of Solomon and find valuable lessons on how being righteous is obeying God’s wisdom and laws, while skepticism, materialism, and idolatry would lead to one’s moral downfall. “Love righteousness, ye that be judges of the earth: think of the Lord with a good heart, and in simplicity of heart seek Him. For He will be found of them that tempt Him not; and showeth Himself unto such as do not distrust Him. For forward thoughts separate from God: and His power, when it is tried, reproveth the unwise. For the Holy Spirit of discipline will flee deceit, and remove from thoughts that are without understanding, and will not abide when unrighteousness cometh in. For wisdom is a loving spirit; and will not acquit a blasphemer of his words: for God is witness of his reins, and a true beholder of his heart, and a hearer of his tongue.”
