We are also accusing Maya, but actually he’s doing his job; he has to be like that. Because of the situation that he created, it makes you feel loving and kind to the victims. And then beware yourself, what you are doing or not doing.

Fourth Level beginning is dark. Later on, your Light shines and everybody’s Light shines, so the whole Fourth Level is also very bright. Just the buffer zone is dark. That place is to stop any of the Three Worlds to enter the Fifth. That’s the border buffer zone, so nobody can enter the Fourth Level without a guide. Without Master, you can’t go there; no guarantee. You go there, you might be disintegrated or lost in this kind of memory sadness, whatever, forever.

And stealing is also harming others in a different way, because if you steal somebody’s money or something that he or she needs, then you discomfort that person. So, these are unalterable rules of the universe that you must keep in order to be liberated. If cultivators of Chan Samadhi, do not cease stealing, they are like someone who pour water into a leaking cup and hopes to fill it. So, if you don’t keep these basic precepts, then no matter how long you meditate, it just keeps leaking out, gone, gone to the Maya power. The Maya will take it and use it to harm you and harm others as well.

I wanted to have my dinner but I think I have to forget it now. It’s too late. Forgot all about it. I even forget my dinner. My God, I’ve been running within my own house. Running faster because of so much hectic work today. Anything you need me to do with the…if you have the script in advance, you have to send it to me, OK? (Yes, Master.) Because maybe later I won’t have a chance to do it. During the retreat, maybe no chance. (Yes, Master.) Actually, I wanted to wish you MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY NEW YEAR. (Merry Christmas, Master. Happy New Year.) Wish you in advance. OK? (Thank You, Master.) Actually, I wanted to invite you out for dinner, like ordinary people, outside. You know, they go and eat with their employees before Christmas and all that. But I am really sorry, I don't think I can make it at all. (All good, Master.) OK, and I also wanted to buy you presents. Now I’m thinking each one of you gets US$100 present. Now what do you want me to buy for you? You want me to give you the money to buy yourself, or what else do you want to do? (Everything together in the fund.) Wow, OK. Then together, that will double the money then. Yeah, you one hundred each. And I one hundred getting from you. Because I have too much, I always have to try to sort it out to give away. But when I give away some, it comes back again, more. And the other people just keep buying. You know, the staff they just buy anything and put it there before I even know about it. What a life, you know, like sometimes you … I remember Hillary Clinton once said that her life in the presidential White House is strange. Yeah, like if she said, “Oh, the banana is good,” then it came many, many, a lot of bananas. And they kept buying it again and again. Same here. Anyway, not anymore because I forbid. I said, “You guys don’t buy me anything unless I really write it down and want it.” (Yes, Master.) Because, before, you remember my house was full of things and it took so much time to take care of it and to sort it out. And if I don’t do it on time, then it goes bad. You know? (Yes, Master.) Some food will go bad and all that. And what for? I don’t even eat it. And you guys have everything you need or not? (Yes, Master.) The girls, also OK, yeah? (Yes, Master.) Just now I asked Jim if your food is OK with you, because maybe every day the same salad, the same vegetables, the same broccoli, the same whatever. Every two, three days, change at least. OK? (Yes, Master.) Every day should be different, so you have a variety for taste as well as for nutrition and vitamins, OK? (Thank You, Master.) I do worry about you guys, your contentment and happiness, even though I don’t always say anything. I’m too busy. Otherwise I would cook for us. (Thank You, Master.) I am a good cook, it’s just that I’m running, I’m eating while working, I’m running to do anything. It’s also good. I run inside my house, kilometers per day, so, I don’t need exercise. When you work on the computer like me, you move your legs around. (Yes, Master.) Just move the legs, give them active movements. And the arms sometimes, if you’re not putting them on the computer, then you move your legs around in circles, or up and down, in and out, left, right. OK? I do that. I have to, otherwise, you feel cramps sometimes. (Yes, Master.) I don’t know. Maybe you are young, you don’t feel cramps. It doesn’t matter. Maybe because you are running around from your area to the work place, and to the kitchen, and to the bathroom, maybe you exercise enough. Just move your hands, then. (Yes, Master.) The legs are running enough. Your hands should move. OK? (Yes, Master. Thank You.) I truly wanted to go out with you, but… Never mind, I comfort myself and comfort you. We are practitioners, we don’t need all kinds of diplomacy. (Yes, thank You, Master.) But ask the kitchen to make some (vegan) cakes for you, for Christmas and New Year. And make real, hot pot, or something special. Whatever you like, you write it down, OK? (OK, Master. Thank You, Master.) You guys prefer to cook for yourselves, or not? (No. No, Master.) No? I prefer, but I hardly have, rarely have any chance to do that. And sometimes you buy, or some people get me some vegetables, but I leave them all there until they’re all very bad. Then I feel sorry and then I quickly make a chop suey. Like, put all in one pot and make a soup. But hardly, rarely have any chance. Even though when you cook for yourself, maybe tastes better, but we just have to be contented with that, with what we have now. It’s better than people who don’t have food. But still. Tell them, I want them to have variety for your diet. (Yes, Master.) OK, any questions at all? (Master, we just wish You well and hope that at the upcoming retreat, Master is healthy and everything is well with You, Master.) Thank you. I also wish the same, thank you. And I wish you well if we don’t have a chance, or if I can’t contact you during retreat. You be well, and take care of yourselves, all of you. OK? (Thank You, Master.) (Master, a couple of weeks ago, You were talking about a disciple of the Buddha, whose mother went to hell for talking negatively about the Buddha.) Yeah. (And I was wondering, for normal people who don’t understand spiritual practice and live only in the mundane world, like for example, our family members or friends, if they maybe sometimes think not so positively about what we’re doing or our spiritual practice, or even Master, what kind of effects does that have on them, Master?) I guess maybe the same. You have to keep providing them with information, tell them to watch Supreme Master TV just for fun. (Yes.) Maybe tell them for fun. We have a lot of good programs. (Yes, Master.) At least that elevates their spirits and lessens their negative thoughts and influences on themselves. OK? (Yes, Master.) Yeah, that is the problem. That is our society’s problem. Whatever they think is new and not established, they look down upon it. (Yes.) But at least you’re helping yourselves. (Yes, Master.) And maybe that influences them somehow. The mother of Maudgalyayana, she should have been in hell forever even, and have more and more punishment. But because her son was the disciple of the Buddha, her sentence was already less severe. Yeah? (Yes, Master.) And then, she could even be liberated, in such a short period. So, it has some good effect if a family member does practice. (Yes, Master.) Send them some clips or something. Or tell them to watch TV. Tell them you are on it, now and then, so maybe catch it if you are there. (Yes, Master.) Post them now and then some loving words and grateful words and stuff like that. (Yes.) Say also, “Our Master is very grateful for such good and gracious parents like mine,” like yours. OK? (Yes, Master.) Something like that, and put a few clips or something together with that. OK? (OK, Master.) Whatever you think is good for them. (Thank You, Master.) And pray for them also, during your meditation. (Yes. Yes, Master.) So that they will be more elevated in spirit. (Yes, Master.) Yeah, the whole world is sometimes bad, bad influence on each other. But I saved the worst, understand that? (Yes, Master.) I saved all the people that no other Master could save or wanted to save. (Yes, Master, thank You.) Because I have created a special area, a special spiritual land for all of you and whoever, under the wings, under my wings. (Thank You, Master!) The Fifth Level is only a station that you go to, and then you’ll be whisked to a very special area beyond, better than the Fifth Level. (Wow!) Because no other Master wanted to save any of my so-called disciples. So, I had to make a new Buddha’s Land, (Wow, Master. Thank You.) which is better, beyond and better than the Fifth Level. (Wow! Thank You, Master! Thank You, so much!) And we could even save the worst. (Thank You, Master.) But that plane of existence, even though beyond and better than the Fifth Level, is only for the worthy ones. The ones who really have faith in the Master. The rest, either they have to pay their debts and transmigrate for some time, or stay in a lower level and keep learning to climb up. (Yes, Master.) Not everybody after death goes straight to the Fifth Level and transitions to the higher land. Actually, even if other Masters had wanted to save those worst cases, if They didn’t have affinity with them or if those Masters didn’t have enough power to do that, then They couldn’t. Not just that They didn’t want to, but it’s just like, the hard cases. (Yes, Master.) Just like the lawyers, they don’t always take cases, even though they need money or they want to earn money, but they don’t always take all cases, because sometimes it’s too bad, (Yes.) too unredeemable. It’s beyond their power. But some powerful lawyers, they take hard cases, harder cases, difficult cases, and maybe only the rich can afford it. Or that lawyer is especially compassionate; he’s always looking to protect those innocents, but with no financial or any support. (Yes, Master.) So similarly, not all Masters could save all souls that wanted to be saved, OK? (Understand, Master.) Because to save one soul, it doesn’t mean only one being, there are many connected with that soul life after life. You understand, right? (Yes, Master.) (Master, when we go to the land beyond the Fifth Level, will we be able to just remember You or do we…?) I’m there, God, silly! (Oh, OK. Thank You, Master.) The owner of the house would be anywhere else? (We won’t be under the Fifth, the Lord of the Fifth Level anymore?) No, no. (We’ll just be under You then. Thank You.) Yeah, yeah. Special. (Thank You very much.) My disciples can only go to the best, the best possible. (Thank You, Master.) It’s not the Original Universe but it’s very special. Beyond and above the Fifth Level, better. Special place. And we will be happy together there forever. (Thank You, Master!) Because the Original Universe, some people would ask me if they can go there. You can’t. You are already created. You’re not original anymore. OK? (Yes, Master.) But above and better than the Fifth Level, that’s the best already. Even the Fifth Level is already good. It’s just because the Saints and the Masters there don’t take you up, so you don’t go there; you go with me. (Wow. Yes, Master.) And it’s even better. OK? (Yes, Master!) Well, if you go to the Fifth Level, it’s already very good. It’s just in our case, it is different. So, don’t worry, OK? (Thank You, Master!) Just be helpful to the world, do your best, unconditionally, then you will get there, with me. (Thank You, Master.) Yeah. That’s it for now. (Master, You mentioned that You could even save the worst. I think the outside, non-initiated might want to know how they can… Can they also go to that special area or what do they need to do?) It depends, if they have faith in the Master, OK? Even if you are not initiated but you have faith in the Master and remember the Master, or saw the Master once, but have no bad ideas about Master. Even don’t slander Master or don’t… maybe not have faith in Master but saw Master once, and not having any negative actions or thoughts or ideas against the Master, or speak against Master, then they can also go to the higher levels and then slowly go up to that place at the end. But it takes a long time. (Yes, Master.) Even then, they will not go to hell, or go to a lower existence anymore. (Yes, Master.) It’s kind of a guarantee. (Wow!) It just takes a long time to go to the level that’s specially created for worthy disciples, OK? (Yes, Master.) The worthy disciples do not necessarily mean very intelligent or highly positioned in society or always talk like a big shot in group meditation, or do not necessarily look like he’s doing a lot of virtuous deeds or anything. But it’s the inside, OK? (Yes, Master.) Maybe he’s done all that, good outside also, but inside, he has to be good and never have wavering faith in the Master. (Yes, Master.) Because the Heavens know everything. Not that we’re demonstrating or playing theatre outside, but inside. (Yes, Master.) Any more questions? (Yes, Master.) (Last time, Master told a story about the disciple who went against her Master, and she had to reincarnate and go back to hell and be in such a terrible state if she became human, for so, so, so long. So, if Master’s disciples are considered the worst cases, how come Master’s disciples are not… like, we’re in good shape, in this lifetime. Is that due to Your grace?) Yes, it is. But also, because they have paid their debt in former lives, for thousands, hundreds of thousands of years of burning in hell already. (Yes, Master.) You’re in good shape because of Master Power’s Grace. Also, you help with Supreme Master TV. And also, you have some merits concerning your health, some merits to stay healthy. So, there are several reasons. Continue to keep your faith, your truthful, unconditional service to others. Remain pure in your hearts, and meditate well. Then you will continue to be in a good shape. But not all of you are the worst, no, no. I mean you in general, but not all of the disciples are the worst cases. No. (Yes, Master.) And even the worst cases, if they’ve paid their debt, they became human again, then they’re OK. It’s just that sometimes, they went back to their karma, the habit of the former life, and they did bad things again. (Yes, Master.) And that’s also because of the Maya influence. If they don’t hold on to the Master faith, if they don’t believe in the Master, or if they came in just by chance, or they are influenced by surrounding people, or whatever, and they don’t practice well, they don’t hold on to their faith and the practice method that the Master teaches, then they might go wrong again. (Yes, Master.) Then they have to start all over again, if they have a chance, or not. OK? (Yes, Master.) You are in good shape because you’re good. I don’t mean you, OK? Many of the disciples are good. It’s just that how much percent, let me see… I knew it before, I just forgot. About 63% of disciples are good. (Yes, Master.) And how much is that? Thirty-seven percent are not too good. Some are the worst cases, go against the Master even. It happened already several times. (Yes, Master.) But this is the case. Even Buddha had bad disciples, like Devadatta? (Yes, Master.) Always went against Him, and harmed Him, wanted to kill Him, and then even tried to assassinate Him or defamed Him, life after life. And even when He is already the Buddha, officially Buddha. And Jesus, even though He taught all the good things, He also had bad disciples. (Yes, Master.) Like Judas, yeah? (Yes.) Intentionally or not, they harmed Him. And they have to go to hell to pay for their sins. Nobody punished him (them). It’s themselves, because we have judgment inside. (Yes, Master.) We can escape society’s judgment or observation, but we cannot escape our own judgment, our own observation, because we know everything. (Yes, Master.)

So, often, they come back as husband and wife, as lover, mother, son, sister, brother, to learn to love! Because family members, naturally you just love. And only love can solve the enmity of the past life. That’s why they often come back as family members or lovers. I suffer more than you do, believe it. Only, I don’t talk. Even if I talk, it’s never enough to describe it.

So, the (inner Heavenly) Light meditation is very important. But the (inner Heavenly) Sound meditation is also very important. The Sound meditation needs to be accompanied by the Light meditation, so that it can regulate the power from Heaven. Hallo, everyone. (Hallo.) Love you. (We love You.) OK, I just want to say hallo and we will see each other the next day. Because I just want to remind you that during the time that you have the opportunity to stay in the beautiful ashram, you meditate a lot. Unless you have to help in the kitchen or something, but any free time, meditate. And the ones who don’t have to help anywhere, meditate all day, and at night also, if possible. And you have to do the (inner Heavenly) Sound meditation a lot more. Like normally, you do only one hour every day, of Sound meditation. Here you must do many, many times more according to the proportion. Like before, one hour of (inner Heavenly) Sound and one and a half hour of the (inner Heavenly) Light. And now here, if you meditate all day, then it must be eight times more like that. Eight times of “one hour of Sound and one and a half hours of Light,” because if you don’t, then it’s too much energy, which cannot be regulated, because the Light is powerful. You must regulate it with the Sound. Otherwise, you might have a little uneasiness inside, unpeaceful, or don’t do things well. It’s easier to sit in the Light meditation, it’s more comfortable, but the Sound meditation is absolutely necessary. For example, if you meditate three hours on the Light, then you have to put in two hours on the Sound. Because the proportional minimum at home is one and a half hours on the Light and one hour of Sound. So, if you meditate more, then you have to keep adding up, like if three hours of Light, then two hours of Sound. Four and a half hours of Light, then three hours of Sound. You have to regulate the energy. You have to let the energy go all the way up to the third-eye, and then the crown chakra on top of your head. Otherwise, if you don’t meditate enough on the Sound, then the energy is stuck somewhere else. Maybe it’s stuck in the solar plexus or stuck in your throat center, and it should be getting out, all the way up to the head, and getting out and circulating. So, meditation on the Sound, proportionate with the Light is very, very, very important. For your peace also, not just for your spiritual progress, but also, peaceful life. (Yes, Master.) And also, for the wisdom to develop more, because of the balance of the energy inside. Your translation is good, yeah? (Yes.) OK. I mean, we have to do the Light meditation because the inner Sound is very important. Otherwise, our energy will not be balanced. And our life will not be balanced, either. It’s not going to cause any harm, but our life will not be so balanced. And we will not do things so smoothly. So, the (inner Heavenly) Light meditation is very important. But the (inner Heavenly) Sound meditation is also very important. The Sound meditation needs to be accompanied by the Light meditation, so that it can regulate the power from Heaven. Otherwise, it might be stuck in other… It’s called chakra in Sanskrit. It means our energy centers. It’s better for our inner spiritual energy to go to the third eye or to the top of our head. If it gets stuck somewhere in a lower place, like the solar plexus, the heart chakra, or the throat chakra, it will not be so good; it has to go up. The Sound meditation would force it to go up, so our level can be higher, and we can progress spiritually. You have to meditate at least two hours and a half at home. But when you come here, whenever you have time to meditate, you should increase it. Depending on the amount of Light meditation, you have to increase the Sound meditation proportionally. For example, if you meditate one and a half hours on the Light, then you do one hour on the Sound. So now, when we are here, for example, if we meditate three hours on the Light, we should do two hours on the Sound. And if we do six hours on the Light, then how many hours on the Sound? (Four hours.) Yeah, it should be balanced like that. I know it’s easier to do the (inner Heavenly) Light meditation, more comfortable. But we still have to try to do the (inner Heavenly) Sound. Otherwise, our spiritual energy will not be so smooth, and our peaceful energy would be lessened. We have to do more, so that our lives will be more peaceful and we get along with others better. Whatever we contribute, it will be smooth. Then it will be peaceful at home, and doing business outside will be smooth as well. Understand? (Yes.) We have to be balanced inside and outside. Remember to do the Sound meditation. It’s very important. (OK.) OK, try your best to meditate then. Are you OK here? Is your meditation comfortable? (Yes.) If you are short-term residents here, you can only eat, sleep and meditate, OK? (Yes.) Help whatever you can. If the contact persons need anything, you can help with whatever you have, and then meditate. Meditate whenever you have time, because our life is very short. We cannot waste it on something trivial. So, talk less, and turn more inward. When you have a chance to come here, search more inward for your true self. I mean, you have found it, but you have to turn inward to progress more. Be more diligent to make up for the time not meditating enough at home. Thank you very much. Thank you everyone. (Thank You, Master!) I will see you in one or two days. I will see you. I will see you on your celebration day. This is just to remind you to practice. And when you go home, you have to tell your fellow practitioners. Tell all the CPs (contact persons) to remind practitioners to do more Quan Yin in the group meditation time and at home. Maybe some hufa (Dharma guard) should bring a small bell. Tell everybody to meditate – after the Light -- they have to meditate on the Sound, until the bell rings. So, at least one hour. After one hour the bell rings, then you know it’s one hour. But you want to meditate more on the Quan Yin (Sound meditation) in proportion with more of the Quan Quang or Light, then it’s OK. I said when you go back, tell others to meditate more on the Sound, balance it with the Light. At home, after meditating on the (inner Heavenly) Light, you can set the alarm clock. Set it to go off, at least an hour later, and you will know that you have meditated on the (inner Heavenly) Sound for at least one hour. Otherwise, we just sit for a while, and we would think that it’s one hour already. And it wouldn’t be good to keep looking at the watch either. For example, if you don’t have time to sit for one hour, you can sit for half an hour and later for another half hour, when you have time. Like, if you did half an hour in the morning, then you would have to do another half hour in the evening, after doing the Light meditation. Just keep it balanced. I have told you the proportion. For example, one hour on the Sound and one and half hours on the Light. And tell your contact person to find a small bell, like the one the Buddhists use, when they are chanting or reciting sutras. And ring the bell after one hour (of Sound meditation), so people know when they should come out, if they want to come out. That’s how it is in group meditation. Otherwise, you just sit for a while, and you will think that it’s time already. I said at home, you go home and remind all your fellow practitioners to do the (inner Heavenly) Sound meditation proportionately with the (inner Heavenly) Light meditation. After Light meditation then do the Sound meditation. You can continue to do the Sound meditation for three, four hours, if you can, and then after that, you do more of the Light to add up to the time of the Sound; to make the proportion correct, more or less. And also, you can tell the CP (contact person) to have a little bell, chiming bell, very little, and everybody in the group meditation, after the Light meditation, they should meditate on the Sound, altogether, until the bell rings. And then they know, if they want to relax to do other, to do Light or maybe it’s time to go home, whatever. But have to use a little bell, so that everybody knows they should continue until the bell rings. So at least they know it’s one hour already. They can do the Light again or they can continue to do the Sound, it doesn’t matter. Also, at home, if you don’t know the time, then you should put a little alarm clock, in your telephone or something, so you only relax after one hour of meditation on the Sound, and that is after the one and a half hours of the Light. The proportion, you have to make the proportion well. And if you cannot meditate at that time, one hour, then you do maybe half of the proportion of the Light and then half of the proportion of the Sound and do another half in the evening to make it up. (Yes.) If you know that, for example, you don’t have enough time for two and a half hours to meditate on the Light and Sound together, then you divide it. Maybe you do the Light… One and a half hours is 90 minutes, right? So, you do 45 minutes on the Light and then you do half an hour on the Sound. And then, in the evening, or whenever you have time again, you do the other half. You divide the Light meditation into half and then you divide the Sound meditation into half, or a quarter, whatever you have time to do, you divide it. But you have to do the (inner Heavenly) Light first. Have to do the Light first. Recite the Five Names and then do the (inner Heavenly) Sound. (Yes.) It’s OK, if you don’t have time to do the whole one and a half hours but you have time maybe… you have only one hour, then you do maybe 40 minutes on the Light and then 20 minutes on the Sound. For example like that, more or less proportionate. And then if you don’t have more time, then you first recite the Five Names. Maybe you have only 15 minutes, then you recite the Five Names and you meditate on the Sound. Recite the Holy Names for 10 minutes and then you do the Sound for five minutes. (Yes.) OK, thank you. He said, “Donating Dharma,” meaning the True Teaching. It’s the best donation, the best offering. You get the best merit. Without any bad karma or good karma attached to it; means pure, pure spiritual merit. And then you can go up higher.

“Ananda, if any one of the monk’s precept transmitting masters or any one of the other monks practicing with him is not pure, then the Bodhimanda as described will not be successful.” Even if you don’t sleep for three months, even if you’re pure, who knows if the bhiksu giving you the precepts is pure or not pure? Therefore, even if you have all that from one of the monks, all the precepts, you can never be sure. This is the problem. You should always choose your birth whenever a living Master is born, so that when you grow up, your time, your age, you come of age, then you can go and grab that Master and quick. Not doing all this.

This is the most difficult to watch, because we always make excuses when we want to do something, we say, “Oh, I do that because of that, because of this.” Whether or not it’s true, you don’t care, and that is also lying; should not. Always watch our mind. The Buddha said that “If monks’ minds are as straight as the lute strings, true and real in everything they do, then they can enter Samadhi and never be involved in the deeds of demons. I certify that such people will accomplish the Bodhisattvas’ Unsurpassed Knowledge and Enlightenment.”

We can compare maybe about 20 percent of whatever up there to this planet.

They gradually progress in their practice and make transferences to the way cultivated by all Sages.”The kings of these heavens, they are already Bodhisattvas stationed, fixed. But these people who meditate and enter some samadhi of emptiness and are attached to that, they still do not reach their ultimate goal, and they have to come back, and they have to be responsible for their karmic debt just like us even. Therefore, it is Nirvana, the best, meaning the highest level of sainthood. They call that area the Fifth level, at least. So I might take you to another place above the Fifth level.

Wagging the whole body and going… Like long time no see. This is the problem with love. Love just binds you so tight. Hatred makes you want to run away. Love wants to tie you. Very, very difficult. Very difficult. Very difficult when you are loved by someone. You don’t want to leave. And when you leave, you feel like something twisting in your heart. Or your, feet feel heavy Go, go, don’t go! I want to go this way, just go that way. It’s a problem. What to do? There is one solution, is that you meditate well, sincerely, and keep yourself pure at heart. And then one day, we all go up and you can see me all day, all night, all the time. There is no day, no night, nothing over there. And we are all like One. Feel good. It doesn’t feel like, have to leave because of bus, because of airplane, because of visa. Everywhere is like that. They have some regulations and laws. This place we cannot build anything. This is already very good. I know, but you get wet. The ones in the middle of two tents together got wet, right? You don’t have umbrella, hat, nothing? You have extra clothes? (Yes.) But if every day is like this, you don’t have enough time to change. And the food is good at least? (Yes.) (Very good.) Good. It would be nice if each one had like one room, eh? Yeah, with the toilet inside, en suite. En suite and then bathroom, running water, carpet, sofa, big king-size bed, and run around and meditate and…. And the way you meditate, you’d need a king-size bed, so you don’t fall on the floor. Sit right in the middle. The Buddha doesn’t know my disciples. That’s why He said, “You cannot sit on the big, tall or large bed.” You need it. The Buddha’s disciples, if they meditate, they don’t need to sit anywhere. Maybe they have a hammock only. But you meditate too well. All directions, one time front direction, oops! Hit the brother in the front, “Oh, excuse me.” “Sorry.” Sit again, Wake up! And then next time, oops, the back direction! Hit the back sister, “Oh God, that’s no good. Sorry, sorry.” And then next time, the right side seems good. “Oh! Oh God, no, no, no, no, no.” And then the brother pushes you back. And then next, on the left side. See, you meditate, I mean, you are really omnipresent. Omnipresent - you can meditate anywhere. Meditate here and there. So…Buddha! You know what I mean? Omnipresent - everywhere you are. I sit here; it’s not safe if I meditate right now. I probably will be influenced by your power of Samadhi. Then I might also go in all directions. Hold well. You never know. Never know when I go into Samadhi. So, this is our problem. Would be nice if we each had one room. King-size bed, big sofa, with the footrest in the front. Anyone can meditate and become Buddha like that, no? Wonderful life. It would be nice! Don’t have. Sorry. We don’t have such a thing here. Even I don’t have. I have a sofa. I have a little sofa. Most of my sofas... I have many sofas actually, in one small room. Dog sofa number one, dog sofa number two, dog’s number three. And they also sit on my sofa. So actually, it doesn’t belong to me. Nothing belongs to me in the house. Originally, I didn’t have a house. Yeah, originally, I didn’t like a house; too much cleaning. Otherwise, I had to call somebody to clean, and sometimes, they understood, they cleaned. Sometimes they didn’t understand or they didn’t want to understand. When I come back home, “Huh, what?” Everything is the same. Very familiar. It wastes a lot of time if you stay in a house; you have to clean a lot. And now, it’s even worse. The dogs, they go and they trail their blankets everywhere. They drop their little bones everywhere. And I have to always clean up because the ants will come. These smell very strong, and they come all over the house. Before, I didn’t know what an ant was. And now, a lot of them. Did mosquitoes bite you here? (No.) No? Maybe too many people. Too many people. They just… So you don’t feel anything, right? They have choices, right? “Oh, this guy! Oh, German! Maybe I’ll try a little bit foreign food.” Check it out, “Oh, no good.” Go to Korean, “Oh kimchi, tastes better.” Oh, go Indonesian, “Oh, the food is more spicy.” “Oh Indian, curry, very strong flavor.” By the way, talking about flavor, if possible, you don’t eat leftover food, OK? Because the demons, they favor leftover food, so they will, kind of, take away the purity of the food. So, if you eat it again, you are mixing with the demon’s energy. Not too good. Try to cook just enough and then you just eat that. Next time, you cook again. The demons cannot go near you, because if you keep the Five Precepts well, and you meditate enough, the demons cannot go near you. But they don’t have to go near you to take the flavor of the food. You understand that? So, if you eat again, it seems like you eat the leftover from the demons. The demons, they don’t have to be near you to enjoy the flavor from your left-over food because the flavors are just like smoke, or the smell, the fragrance of the cooking or the flowers. They just permeate the air or the atmosphere, so they can always enjoy that. They’re allowed to. But I feel very sorry for them, so I often leave a morsel or two after eating my food, so that they can partake of that flavor. You can do the same, if you would like to. If you cook a lot, you take out only some that you will eat, and whatever is left, that would be OK. For example, if you are eating and you are busy, like me sometimes, and there’s still some food leftover and you’re working, working, and you want to eat again later, within nine minutes, it’s OK. After that, the demons are allowed to eat your food. Because it’s kind of leftover, it’s like discarded food. They don’t have enough merit to eat fresh and wonderful food, so they are allowed to eat whatever is so-called discarded. Therefore, we better eat what’s fresh. Better, OK? Otherwise you might feel agitated, unpeaceful, unrestful for meditation or for dealing with many things in the world. I also personally experience that, so I tell you the truth. But in this world, it’s sometimes very difficult to adhere to those principles. Like, most of the monks, the monks under Buddha, they ate only before noon. After noon they didn’t eat anymore. Number one, because they had to meditate and go to the Buddha assembly, in order to listen to His teachings, because they could not go all day, begging outside. So, they begged one time, went for alms one time, and then after eating, they had to wash and clean, and then go for group meditation like the way you do. When the Buddha was still alive. So, the monks they didn’t eat after noon time. Because up to three o’clock, it is still a good time. Up to three o’clock in the afternoon, it’s still a good time to eat. Up to six o’clock, maximum, is the best time to eat. After that it would be the taking over by the negative force, and then whatever you eat, it might not be easy to digest. Or it might not make you that healthy as you would like to be. Because it’s tainted with some negative influence. Up to six o’clock, it’s OK. After three o’clock, it’s already going to the negative zone of time in our world. But, up till six o’clock, the Sun is still shining. The reason we still can eat up to six o’clock is because the Sun always frightens these kinds of demons, these kinds and other lower kinds, weaker kinds. Not all of them are frightened. But the demons, they are lowly anyway. So up to six o’clock the Sun is still there. Even though you don’t see the Sun, like a cloudy day, rainy day, the Sun is still there. The Sun’s power is still radiating into the world. Thus, if you eat within these hours, up to six o’clock, from three o’clock early morning, up to six o’clock in the afternoon, it is still OK. Better not eat after that. Up to six o'clock, we can eat because the Sun is still there. But it's different in different countries. Depends on what time the Sun sets. Also depends on the season, as well. Just eat before the Sun sets; that will be good. I am OK. I can eat anytime I want, or not eat. Because in my surroundings, I have created, or the Heavens have created with me, a protected area. So, I don’t get much harm from whatever I do. But most people, they might have bad influences from the negative force in this world. Maybe that’s the reason why our world is often very restless. Even in a peaceful country, we don’t have good energy as in Heaven. You understand now? (Yes, Master.) And then we eat many things like onions, garlic, and stuff like that, which also make us restless, less peaceful. I don’t know why I talk about these onions and garlic now. They are also some kind of medicine. In the West, like when I was in France or in England, people brewed onion soup in winter to prevent colds. And also, sometimes they put onions in the pocket of their children to prevent having colds. Also garlic, sometimes it also cleanses your blood, in some cases. But not to be eaten often, even though it has medicinal properties. But it does also have a spiritual bad side, side effect. Do you have any questions? Any good questions? Yeah. (How about raw food?) How about what? (Raw food?) Raw food! (Yes, do the demons still eat after nine minutes?) Yes, anything that is leftover, they are allowed to eat, if they want to eat. The food with a lot of flavor, of course, they like because they can feel it. Even though they don’t have a body, but they can sense it from afar. So, they can even take the flavor from far away from you. Raw food also has some other effect, like, the enzymes are still very much alive. So, it could… if you are very sensitive - sometimes I’m very sensitive and I feel that - it also makes you a little restless. But some people think it’s energy. It depends on if you need a lot of action, or if you like to have more quiet time. It depends also on whether or not you are very sensitive to the enzymes’ activities, enzymes’ activeness. The food - if you take half of it first into a different bowl and eat it, and whatever food is left there, if you haven’t touched it yet, have none of your saliva on it, or you didn’t eat from it and then left, then it’s OK. Understand? But if you eat half a bowl and there’s half a bowl left, the same bowl, same food, but you already ate half, left half, then it’s counted as leftover. (What about when you’re cooking and tasting?) You taste with a different spoon. You take a spoon, you put it in a little bowl or cup, you taste from that, then the food is still OK. That’s why in the Buddhist sutra, the Buddha told you, whatever is not offered to the Buddha, you should not eat. See that? Number one: because of respect. Number two: because it’s maybe like that; the demons have tasted it already. And if the Buddha eats it, it’s no good. You see what I mean? It’s even no good for us; how would it be good for the Buddha? But for the Buddha, maybe it’s OK. Maybe because Buddha had protective power. But at that time, He had many monks. So, when we taste it, we should have a different cup, then your food is still pure and new. Also, food, when you eat leftovers or overnight, it’s also no good. Would be better to eat fresh every day. Not even cook today, eat tomorrow. But for my convenience, sometimes I do that. I have no time to keep cooking. Put it in the fridge and it’s still fresh, just take it out, eat it. It still tastes good though. But of course, when it’s warm, you’re used to it; it’s warm and fresh, it tastes better than from the fridge. But I didn’t always have the choice. I’m very, very busy. Whenever I come out to see you, I look relaxed, like I have nothing to do, except to look at you and talk nonsense, and smile, make jokes, but I am very busy. Very busy. I think I am a very good monk. In many precepts I’m a good monk. Like the monk could take a shower only every two weeks In India maybe they didn’t have water. I am the same. Not because I do it as a precept, but because I have no time. So, I think in a way, I am a very good monk. Maybe in India they did not have enough water at that time. They had just limited water from a well. and it was difficult to always draw it up. Or maybe because they were busy; the monks were busy, no idea. But I can tell that’s a very good precept, very good excuse for me. It’s good to be busy also, but sometimes it’s just too busy, too busy, it’s not too good. Never mind. I’m still better than busy with the things that are not useful or not helpful to anyone. I am very happy that I can still do some work and that helps other people, and reminds them to practice; reminds them to remember their higher selves, and the freedom that they used to have, before they’ve been trapped in this body. I’m happy to be able to still do that.

You drive them out with strong willpower and conscience, as well as your meditation power. But to destroy them, you can’t. Because we created them by our negative thinking, deeds, and words, and many other things, and actions. Believe only in God and the positive power. Do only what’s good. Avoid, above all, anything bad. Be vegan, make peace. Then, all will be good. We have to really do our utmost to keep the environment healthy, to keep the Earth healthy.

So, all these demons and ghosts, even the kings of demons, powerful in heaven, they are still imprisoned by this worldly passion and possessiveness. While you are in Samadhi, you are enjoying connecting with the Buddha Power, with your own Buddha Nature inside. You enjoy, you are pure, you are uplifted. “Therefore, they cannot affect you any more than a blowing wind can affect light, or as if a knife cannot cut through water.” Keep your mind straight, recite the Five (Holy) Names all the time when you meditate. No desire of anything; no thinking of even desiring anything; nothing; just want liberation, want to know your Buddha Nature.

So, when you practice the Tao, or the Truth, or the Dharma, the Way, you will encounter ten kinds of samadhic experiences from inside. And then you may mistake these for some ultimate enlightenment. And thus, some of the demons who are correspondent to your state of mind or samadhic experience at that time, they may enter you. They may be around you. And then they will mislead you, make you think that you already attain the complete Tao or the complete enlightenment, but not yet. So, the Buddha warned His monks at that time. This is our ten states of mind.
