Истинското значение на монашеството, част 9 от 9

If you want to be liberated, have merit and live in a temple, there is also a lot of work to be done. It’s not that you have to shave your head.I set you free now and let you eat. You can go eat now. I still have a lot of work to do today. Maybe I can’t come to see you. Still a few days to go. Who shall I see tomorrow? Which country has the most people? (Aulacese (Vietnamese).) OK, Aulacese (Vietnamese). Let’s go. Very good. Thank you. Did you understand what I said just now?If she wants to become a nun with you, let her sweep the floor first, clean the toilets, tidy up the garden, mow the lawn and trim the trees in the garden. Don’t just shave your head so quickly and think that you’re great. If you want to be liberated, have merit and live in a temple, there is also a lot of work to be done. It’s not that you have to shave your head. If you just shave blindly without understanding, you can break any one of the 250 precepts, at any time. I’m telling you. You can break the precepts by a slight movement of thought. So, think clearly, it’s not so easy to be a monk or nun. I only broke one precept, which is wearing colorful clothes.Monks cannot wear jewelry or anything valuable. They should only have two or three sets of clothes and one kasaya, that’s it. Plus a bowl, that’s the way it should be. So, think clearly. It’s not like, you just shave your head and it’s done. It’s not that easy. You can break the precepts at any time. Even a slight thought can make you break the precepts. Even when you scrub your body, you can break the precepts. I’m telling you. It’s just that I can’t tell you everything. I can only tell you some. It’s not that easy. If you want to make merits by serving in a temple, you can go and live there, clean the house, clean the toilets, bathrooms, etc. I worked like that when I’d just become a nun. I swept and mopped the floor for others, cleaned the toilets and bathrooms, and cooked for all the monks and the laypeople as well. When people came, I’d cook for them. I didn’t become a nun to be respected or take offerings from others. No. Even just a small thought or action can make you break the precepts. I’m telling you. There are 250 precepts, not just five precepts. Even just Five Precepts, you didn’t keep very well, not to mention 250 of them. You just want to become a monk because they look good, but you don’t have the correct concept of monkhood. If you talk nonsense or do something wrong, you can ruin the reputation of monks. So, think it over. I’m going out. Whoever wants to see me can go out now. I’m a little taller, sitting on this. There was a monk in Japan, he was very good-looking, young and talented. He could paint very well. He painted portraits that looked real. He could draw a face that would look exactly like the person. So, he often painted for others, to make money, to maintain the temple he lived in, or to offer to other temples or other monks. There was a geisha. Japanese geisha. They don’t have physical relations with people. There was a geisha who seemed to have fallen in love with that monk, but she couldn’t have him. So, she tried many ways to approach him. She wanted to test him, and she liked him a lot. So, she asked him to paint her. When he came, she took off all her clothes and asked him to paint. Not just painting her face, or painting her with clothes on. No. She took everything off. She was completely naked, laying there, and asked him to paint her just like that.Well, he carried on and painted her whole body. But before he started, he made the price very high. He said, “You have to pay me this much, if you want me to paint you, otherwise, it’s not worth it.” She paid too, because that geisha had a lot of money. She was willing to pay him anything because she liked him. She wanted to test him, to see if his heart would be shaken. Two or three times before, she tried to tease him, but he ignored her. This time she asked him to paint her, he agreed, but he asked for a lot of money. After he finished and got paid, he took that money and offered it to a temple for maintenance work. Because that temple was very shabby and had no money for repairs, so he gave it all to that temple. After that, he threw his paintbrushes away. From that day on, he stopped painting.Do you Japanese know this story? Does anyone know this story? (It’s the first time I hear it.) First time? I thought you were Buddhists. And you even want to become a monk. When I read this story, I wasn’t a nun yet. I read it when I was little, that’s why I forgot the monk’s name. You are really disciples of the Buddha, "tu” as in “tu-di.” Are you “dust” or are you “soil”? Or maybe stones? Dust is fine, stone is harder. I’m going now. Because the monk thought he had broken the precept. As a monk, he shouldn’t have looked at a naked woman. So, from that day on, he stopped painting. Besides, he had earned what he wanted to earn. Because he used to make a little money at a time, it wasn’t enough. This time, he made a lot of money. It was enough for him to offer to the temple that he wanted to repair. After that, he stopped painting because he thought he had broken the precept. That’s why he stopped doing it. He went to practice spiritually and repent.Bye-bye. (Thank You, Master.) You’re welcome. See you later. (Hallo, Master.) Hallo. But I tell you, breaking precepts doesn’t necessarily mean breaking the precepts. It depends on what’s inside you, not the outer appearance. The Chinese must know this story. The Japanese may not know it, but the Chinese know it for sure. There were two monks who wanted to cross a river. (Yes.) There was a girl who was sick and couldn’t cross to the other side. So, one monk ignored her, while the other monk (Carried her.) carried her across the river. He put her on the other side of the river and walked away. As they walked, after a long while, the other monk couldn’t help it and said: "You are a monk, how could you carry a girl?" The monk said, "I put her down on the river bank a long time ago, but you are still carrying her." Do you understand? (Yes.) OK then. So, forgive me for not keeping this precept strictly. But it doesn’t matter. The Thai and the Burmese, some of them are temporary monks, just like the short-stays and the residents here. Residents are those who stay permanently. Short-stays are those who come and go. People in Thailand become monks for different reasons. If his parents passed away, for instance, he’ll be a monk for a week, a month or a year, in order to give his parents some merits. You understand? (Yes.) Perhaps I’m a temporary monk. It doesn’t matter. Now I look just the same as you, (Hallo, Master. Thank You, Master.) wearing colorful clothes. It doesn’t matter.(Hallo, Master.) Hallo. (Hallo.) See you later. Please watch the road for me. (Yes.) Sometimes it’s uneven. (Yes.) Thanks a lot. Are you cold? You waited for so long. (No.) Hallo! (Hallo, Master.) I wonder if the kitchen has prepared anything today. No? They only prepare on Sunday, right?(Hallo, Master.) Hallo, beautiful boys and girls. (Hallo, Master.) Watch out. Don’t get run over. (Hallo, Master.) Hallo. Be good. (Yes.) Be humble and behave well. So, the kitchen has prepared? (Yes.) OK, I’ll be back in a while. (OK.) It’s OK if we eat later, right? (Yes.) (Thank You, Master.) I cannot give an exact time. My time cannot be fixed like that. Beautiful hat. (Hallo, Master. Thank You, Master.) Hallo! (Hallo, Master.) Hallo, hallo. (Hallo, Master.) Very good. Our temple is not big, but we have many people.Hi, everybody. Thanks for helping. You’ll have a lot of merits. You help the Master and I help you. You may not know, I help quietly. If you do things right, you’ll have merits from helping Master. So, be attentive when you work. I am going now. Guards, thank you, thank you. I’m going now. Take a few more looks. (Hallo, Master.) Love you.

Истинското значение на монашеството, част 8 от 9

Истинското значение на монашеството, част 8 от 9

If you want to become a monk, you have to be truly sincere. Only when you are ready to sacrifice yourself for other people, should you become a monk. Otherwise, if you only want to be liberated from the cycle of birth and death, then you don’t need to become a monk. You can wear ordinary clothes and stay outside in the world, and still get liberated. You? Do you also have a question?(Master, recently there were some fellow initiates who told me that they’d like to become nuns very much. Yes, however…) Why do they want to become nuns? OK, then tell them to sign up for it. (Yes. And one of them just had her head shaved and wore a nun’s robe.) What? (She shaved her head and wore a nun’s robe. I don’t know how to…) Wearing a nun’s robe by herself? (Yes. She shaved her head and wore a nun’s robe.) Where did she go after that? (I don’t know if I should ask them to come up to the stage.) Some people are already monks or nuns. Why do you imitate what they wear? Is it for others to respect you? How come? Is she here? (There are two Korean sisters here.) Korean. Where are they? (One of them didn’t do it voluntarily. So she changed back to ordinary clothes.) Ordinary clothes. (Yes. And I told the other one that she only shaved her head and wore a nun’s robe, but she knows nothing about the precepts that a nun should keep.) That’s true. (I’m quite worried that there’ll be many other fellow initiates who want to do similar things.) Yes. (This morning…) No. No way. (I told her about the entire process. What I did was also to protect our group from bad things that might happen in the future.) Yes. (So, she’s fine now. She repented to Master after knowing that.) She shouldn’t have done that. (And she changed out of the nun’s clothes.)Just be an ordinary person. Why become a nun? They are already nuns, so they just continue to be nuns. Because I don’t want you to change your lifestyle, so, I dress like an ordinary person. Why do you have to change your lifestyle? If you want to be a renunciate with me, you have to sign up for it in advance. And then I’ll see if your destiny is to be a monk or a nun, OK? (OK, thank You, Master.) It’s not that you will become a renunciate by simply shaving your head and wearing a monk’s robe. They probably think that it’s very comfortable sitting here like you, while they can’t see me from sitting in the back. So, they think it’s fun to wear that kind of clothes and sit here. That is deceitful and creates bad karma.(It’s a nun who shaved her head for her. So, I also told that nun…) Who’s the nun? Is she from our group? (Yes. She’s a Korean nun sitting over there. I explained to her and asked her not to shave fellow initiates’ heads anymore.) Don’t do this at random. Her intention was good. She thought that since the sister wanted to become a nun, she should just let her. But let me tell you, you should not act recklessly regarding two things, renunciation and transmitting the Dharma. That’s why at initiation, I tell you not to disclose the information to others. First, you’d hurt yourself, because you don’t have enough power yet and you would collect people’s bad karma. Second, the ones who learned from you did not learn the whole thing, which is not good for them. They can get possessed, etc., because they don’t have enough power. There are already many people outside who haven’t obtained anything yet, but go out to give lectures and transmit the Dharma, leading people astray. That is misguiding people. It’s not right.I had a lot of monks and nuns before, but now many of them have left; not many remain. I told them not to wear monk’s or nun’s clothes anymore, because I saw that they were not devoted to being a monk or nun. So, I told them it’s better not to lie to people. Just wear ordinary clothes; it’s easy and free. No one would expect how you should behave, if you’re not a monk or nun. Understand? Carefree. Not to mention, if you want to become a monk with for no reasons at all. The reason to become a renunciate is to sit here and eat with me? That is not right. If that’s your motive, it’s not right. Not right. In this case, you will truly create a lot of difficulties, a lot of bad karma. You wouldn’t progress in your spiritual practice. If you want to become a monk, you have to be sincere.I trusted people very easily before. If anyone wanted to become a monk, I would immediately shave their head for them, just like the Korean nun. Just out of love, thinking that renunciation is a very good thing. I myself also love to be a nun, so of course, I welcomed them to join. But slowly, I realized that they were different. It seemed that they had not come for renunciation; they had different purposes. Yes?(Master, one of them told me she had been following that Buddhist master for many years, and she longed to become a nun.) Because she’s been following the Buddhist nun who shaved her head, for many years? (Yes. She’s been following the Buddhist nun for many years.) Which Buddhist nun? (The Korean Buddhist nun.) Which one? The one behind? Has she been following her as a disciple or just following her around? Give her the microphone. Why did the nun shave her head? (As she wanted to practice harder, she wanted to be a nun…) Translate it. What does it mean by “following her?” Does it mean that she’s been following her without shaving her head, just living with her, like burning incense and reciting Buddha’s names, etc.? Or how did she follow her?(Master, she was a follower of the nun. Not as a disciple, but just a follower.) Who said that? (I am the Korean translator.) Yes, tell me. (She was a follower of the nun. She’s been following her for a long time.) You’re also my followers. How is she special then? (Nothing special. It’s just that she has been longing for renunciation since a long time ago. That’s why she had her head shaved recently.) Only recently? Why? (Before, she was a lay person.)That I know. Did her parents agree? Did her husband agree? (Let me ask her.) Yes. (Then, did your parents or your husband agree with that? Sister?) (I have no husband, no parents either.) (She has no parents nor husband.) How has she been following the nun? As a follower, just like you, right? Just comes and goes, right? (Yes.) (So, you’ve just been practicing like others; coming and going, right?) (Yes.) (Yes. She just followed her around.)Then, why does she want to become a nun only now, and not before? She has already learned with me, why does she still want to become a nun? (Why did you not become a nun earlier and finally decided to do that now?) (I had two children. They have all grown up and got married now, so I decided.) (She has two sons.) (She was married and has two sons. On April 1, 2012, she received initiation from Master.) April of which year? (Initiation on April 1st, 2012.) OK. So it’s been seven years already. (Yes.) Now she wants to become a nun. So, where is she going to leave the children? (Both her sons are married already. Her children have grown up.) (She told me that because her children have grown up, now she’s free. She’s been longing for renunciation.) What about her husband? Is she going to divorce him? (She has no husband now.) No? How come? (She doesn’t have a husband anymore.) Are they divorced?(Have you divorced?) (No. Twenty years ago, my husband passed away.)(Her husband passed away 20 years ago.) Passed away. OK. And her children have grown up. How old are they?(Grown up and married, that’s why she’s free.) What did she say? (What she means is, her husband died 20 years ago, and she raised the children. Both her sons are married already. That’s why she thinks it’s time now.) Oh. Is she Korean? (Yes.) And you advised her not to do it? (Yes. I told her… I explained the reasons to her and she accepted them. But then I thought it’s better that I don’t make the decision for her. I should report this to Master.)Why did she still ask you? Since she had her head shaved already, why did she still ask you?(Because I felt that she did not understand enough about monkhood.) She doesn’t understand. (No, she hasn’t been taught about precepts and hasn’t received them. So, I’m afraid that…)How old is she? (She seems to be…) Forty something? (No, she’s nearly 60.) (I’m 60 years old.) Nearly 60? (I got initiated ten years ago.) (She said she’s 60 years old.)Sixty years old and still wants to become a nun? What for? She’s 60 already, might as well just continue to live like that. It’s not that we think she’s too old, but I’m afraid that it’s difficult to change her personality at an old age. It might not be that easy for her to mingle and work with others. Her personality is already fixed. In Catholicism, they only accept people under the age of 30 to become priests. No more than 30 years old, male or female. They think it’s difficult to change or learn many things after 30. You can’t learn much if you’re old; not much time left. Time is too short for them to adapt to new circumstances. They would not be able to adapt to the group, nor to the rules and precepts of the group. Even if they want to devote themselves, it’d be difficult for them to adapt to the physical and lifestyle changes. That’s what I mean. Of course, she can still become a nun. But afterwards, she just continues to follow the Buddhist nun, right? Does the Buddhist nun have a temple for her? (Yes, the nun has a temple.) Will she live with her? You ask her.(Master, I did advise her, that since she’s been initiated by Master, true monkhood means liberation of the soul and renunciation of the mind. The outer form is not that important.) It’s not that important, indeed. (Yes, because if she dresses as a nun, but she doesn’t know about the precepts a nun has to keep, then she might easily violate the precepts, which would not be good for her.) Yes, this is what I’m worried about. It’s not that easy to become a monk or nun. You have to be clean, pure and dignified, and keep rules strictly, with no exception at all. You see, Ananda almost broke the precepts even after having followed the Buddha for such a long time. Of course, he was lured by someone else. But it’s still not a good excuse. I had around 500 monks and nuns with me before. Now there might be only 50 left, who are half renunciate, half lay people. To be a monk is not easy. People look at you and have expectations. Your every move is watched by others. If they criticize you, they would also cause bad karma. If she wants, she can stay with the Buddhist nun for a while, without shaving her head; she can be her attendant, taking care of her and helping to clean the temple. She doesn’t have to shave her head to stay with her. First, she can try to see if she can follow the rules and obey instructions from senior people. It’s not easy for someone of 60 to listen to others. I’m telling you. It’s my personal experience. I don’t listen to anybody now, I’ll tell you that. Whether I shave my head or not. I’m only ten years older than her, and I’m not listening to anybody, even my dogs.

Истинското значение на монашеството, част 7 от 9

If you’re a good spiritual practitioner, there are at least five angels protecting you. Also, Supreme Master TV is a kind of protective power. How would any invisible beings come to harass you? Take care of your body. Sometimes, you may have eaten some wrong food, which contains animal ingredients, or are allergic to it without knowing it, then you’ll feel itchy or something. I sometimes also feel very itchy. Sometimes, there are sores all over my body from scratching. I can’t say that it’s the invisible beings coming to hurt me. I know, sometimes, when I eat tomatoes, I have an allergic reaction. Our body becomes different as we age. Maybe we were not allergic to those when we were young. Or, when our karma comes, eating that may cause an allergy. However, though I know I’m allergic to tomatoes, I still love eating them. But later, I will have fun scratching. Scratch for a few days, then it’s gone. Just a little scratching, no problem. You have to pay the price. I know it, but I still eat it. Sometimes, I don’t eat it intentionally; they might have put tomato paste on the (vegan) pizza, or in the rice or (vegan) soup. Just for example. I feel itchy after eating it, so I just scratch. I don’t blame invisible beings for causing this. It’s the tomato (vegan) soup. Our body might become different as we get old, unlike earlier years. We’re stronger when we’re young. What’s that called? Our immunity was stronger. As we age, organs inside us will also become weaker, just like a car. If the car is well maintained, maybe it can be used for a longer time. If it’s not properly maintained, it’d become a lousy car. However, don’t always claim that it’s the invisible beings, whenever there’s any trouble, or say that someone is harming you with magical power. Why should he harm you? You’re not sure that he’s the culprit. Stop having delusions, or it could become real. It could, if you’re connected to him. You have your Master. Play Supreme Master TV and my lectures, then there’ll be no problem. Harm won’t come to us good people, unless it’s our own karma. Unless we are lousy in spiritual practice, and our level is too low. Then we’ll be taken advantage of by our own subconscious, our negative mind. I am old, I need to rest my back. Sitting up all the time, listening to you is really tiring. To hear you talk about invisible beings, I am also distressed. Any more distresses? Speak.(The last question, Master.) Speak. (Also about invisible beings.) Distressed again? The same person? (Another one.) Just read it. Read it. (Master, an invisible being transformed into Master’s appearance and told my girlfriend’s mother that she has reached the Fifth Level, and how long she would live, etc. He also told her to stop her daughter from going out with me. I once hated Master for this incident. Now I regret it very much, and I want to repent to Master. Will I go to hell for that? Master, please help me.)I’m not sure. Wait until you go there. Now you’re still here. Just repent and it’ll be fine. What did you hate me for? Even if it was the real Master instead of the false one, it’s good that She told your girlfriend to break up with you. You’re free. You should be grateful to me. Why should you hate me? Is that right, everyone? (Yes.) Perhaps that girl was not good for you. It doesn’t matter whether that Master is real or not, it’s better to have one less girlfriend, right? Many men deeply regret marrying their girlfriends. She is only your girlfriend; you’re not married yet. It’s still not too late. You can still be saved, right? In this world, you may have love today, but lose it tomorrow. Even if Master didn’t say anything, she might have left anyway. Or, after some time, you might have lost your passion for her. Just because you want to cling to that tiny bit of desire, you’re angry with me. That’s not right. It doesn’t matter if that Master is real or not. You failed even at an easy test. You’re just friends and not married yet. What if they are married and some Master tells his wife to divorce him, then he won’t forgive me. Having a girlfriend may not be good for you; losing a girlfriend may not be bad for you. Go find another girlfriend. There are so many girls in the world. You see she’s sitting here, so pretty. What are you missing? Losing one girlfriend is no big deal. You see they don’t have girlfriends.I also have no girlfriend and I still live on. I’m free to take care of myself alone. You don’t know the trouble of having a companion. No matter if it’s a man or a woman by my side, I feel annoyed sometimes. They sometimes do things differently, according to their ego. They don’t tell me why and don’t give me a chance to explain, why I tell them to do it that way. I’ll think they trust me and will do as I tell them, but it turns out that they do it differently. That ruins my schedule or creates unpleasant situations or obstructions. It’s not a big deal to have a girlfriend. Also, no need to be frustrated if you don’t have her; find another one. Maybe a better one. So, did she leave you? No? Is your girlfriend still with you? (Yes.) Then why did you hate me?(Because she told me that Master said so. At that time, I was still not clear…) It might not be “me.” (Yes, it’s because I hadn’t found out yet. Later, I understood after I found out the situation. It was not Master who said that.) The false one. (Right, the false one. Because I thought…) How did you know it was the false one? (I asked about the details. For instance, she said it was her mother’s experience. A being said this to her mother. And then that being would tell her something through her mother’s mouth.) Again, distressed by beings and then blame it on me. It’s always like that. (That’s how it went. And then, later…) Then you forgave me. Thank you. (I am sorry, Master. I am really sorry. I misunderstood You.) Lucky that you have only one girlfriend. If you had several more, I’d be dead. (Yes.) Please! It’s OK.(Another question is, I’m now troubled by this being. There seems to be more than one being with her mother. She is also our fellow initiate.) It has nothing to do with me, right? (I know. What I want to say is, because of this being, I now have difficulties in meditation. I’d like to know if Master can help in this matter.) I don’t know. (It’s not from me. It’s just that when I meditate… I think it’s from her mother. The consciousness of that being would come and bother me, which makes it very difficult for me to meditate. My girlfriend also experienced the same situation. Both of us have difficulties in our practice.)I can’t interfere with what people do outside. Sometimes, you go and bow to statues in the temples. Sometimes, you go and burn incense in graveyards. Sometimes, you ask for help from deities and ghosts. I cannot control what you do. You just mind your own business. I cannot even control what you do, not to mention other people. I cannot even control if you resent me or not. How would I interfere with other people’s business? Not even my disciples. OK. Tell her to play Master’s Buddhist chanting and see if it works. And ask her to watch Supreme Master TV. Ask both your girlfriend and her mother to watch, OK? (OK, thank You, Master.)I can’t interfere with other people’s business. I can’t even control my own disciples. Some of them just don’t listen to what I say. Some of them even made trouble, like talking nonsense outside and ruining my reputation, so that I could not come back to Taiwan (Formosa) for quite a few years, etc. I can’t control my own disciples, so how would I control others? I only teach you how to be a good person and practice spiritually. That’s all I can teach you. I can’t control your mind. But it’s also good like this, so you understand that I don’t control you. He is a free individual. He can choose to trust Master or resent Master. Do you see that? It shows that I don’t use any magic power to control you. I could do it, but I won’t and I don’t want to. I don’t want to control you. I want you to be free to choose for yourselves, so that you can grow.Even if you’re a university professor, you can’t help your child in kindergarten with his exams. He has to learn by himself. You can guide him, but you can’t take the exam for him. If he doesn’t learn according to what you teach him, he won’t pass the exam. And you also can’t take the exam for him. Isn’t it so? (Yes.) We humans have a great soul, inside which there is Buddha or God, and I don’t want to control this Buddha. You’ll have to find your own Buddha. I teach you how to find it. You need to grow up and take care of your own lives. You need to get enlightened and reach Buddhahood by yourselves. I can’t control you and I don’t want to.If a so-called enlightened master still controls others, then he’s not an enlightened master. What he does is use people’s faith and uses magic power to harm others. You can see that even Buddha did not control others. His cousin harmed Him, but He still let him do it. It’s not that He could not control him, but He didn’t want to. He respects you the same as respecting a Buddha, because you’re future Buddhas. There’s Buddha Nature inside you, which I can’t control. No more questions? Good.

Истинското значение на монашеството, част 6 от 9

Tell the elementary school teacher not to disturb you anymore. But you should also show your appreciation for him. Talk to him within to thank him. If he is still around, then talk to him in person. Offer something to him and thank him. Tell him that you’re learning from Master Ching Hai now. Ask him to help you practice smoothly instead of disturbing you. Thank you.Next. (I once followed a male Tantric master to practice. Now, this master is hindering me from meditating on the Light and Sound. I’ll have dreams whenever I meditate and wake up with bodily discomfort. I have headaches and bloodshot eyes. When I get up at midnight to meditate, I’ll study Master’s teachings first, and wash my face, but all are futile. Master, please enlighten me.)Tell that Tantric master that you are very grateful to him for imparting to you some teachings, but now you’re following me. Tell him it would be the best for him to follow me too. If he won’t, then to let you be free. Thank him, but now you have graduated. For instance, previously you were in elementary school. Now, you’ve graduated and are in high school. Thank you. (Dear Master, since three years ago, a fellow initiate has been hurting me with black magic. Thankfully, I have Master’s blessing power and protection, I meditate for five hours or more everyday and recite the five Holy Names, so that I can practice smoothly, until today. However, my spiritual practice and daily life is still severely affected. Master, what should I do?) Why does he harm you with magic power? Any reason? Have you offended him? (He can do anything. He used black magic to send something to bite me. It was as if my whole body was bitten by ants.) I understand. (Also, there seems to be something creeping all over me. That always happens when I meditate.)Why does he do this? How have you offended him? (No, I don’t know him.) If you don’t know him, how do you know that he is using black magic? (In a chat group of fellow initiates on the Internet, he was selling some blood tonics. He was from Pingchang District of Shenyang City. At first, about 10 to 20 initiates bought this blood tonic from him. Later, they stopped buying because some of them didn’t feel good after taking it. At first, it was effective. Later, after they stopped buying from him, I noticed that he was stalking me. At first, he sent something to keep banging my head, which is getting more and more serious. Recently, my tendon is often twisted. I don’t know how he did it. He did something to my tendon anyway. In addition, he also pricked my acupunctural points. My whole body feels terrible. I can’t meditate anymore. He just wants to disturb me. Also, the windows at home will generate cracking noises whenever I meditate. Initiates meditating with me can also hear it. And lots of birds came into my room. Electrical appliances in my home broke down without reason, though they were of high quality and newly purchased. My computer often breaks down too. I often can’t even send messages using my cell phone, and sometimes my cell phone just freezes. It is the same with my computer. I’m quite sure he’s been using all kinds of evil magic.)Could you have eaten something allergenic? Go and have yourself checked by a doctor. Computers and TVs often break down. It happens to me too. Investigate the real cause. Don’t wrongly accuse bad people. Find out the real causes. Don’t be so superstitious, OK? (OK.) Find out the cause. Have you been playing Supreme Master TV? (Yes. Two computers take turns to play it around the clock.) Then he wouldn’t dare to disturb you. He couldn’t. You need to have a physical exam. Perhaps you have some allergy problems, OK? Also, computers and TVs sometimes break down because some parts are loose or broken. Or because they are too old. My TV set is new and yet it sometimes doesn’t work because some connections are loose. After I check it, then it’s OK. Later, it becomes loose again, because the electric cords are too hard sometimes. You put them this way, later they would become loose by themselves. Have them checked, OK? Get help from professionals. (Thank You, Master.)(Next question. Hallo, Master. In recent years, when I go to public places or to the hospital, I feel like I’m being disturbed by invisible beings. I recite the Five Holy Names and the Gift continuously. Still sometimes...) In the hospital? (Yes.) Do you work in the hospital? OK, speak. (I recite the Five Holy Names and the Gift. Still sometimes I can’t avoid being disturbed by them. Is there any other way to avoid being disturbed, Master?)What kind of disturbance? In what way? How do you know that they are disturbing you. (It’s like this; whenever I am in a public place, or when I have to work in a medical ward, or I am in contact with lots of medical staff or patients, I will have many symptoms, such as a cold sweat, not sure if I am hot or cold. Sometimes, I’d even have conditions such as diarrhea, vomiting, and bloating.) Is it very frequent? (Several times a year. The latest one was in mid-November 2019, but I was not in contact with patients this time.) Don’t always wrongly accuse the invisible beings, please. My God. Don’t randomly accuse people without any proof. Sometimes our body is tired. We sweat perhaps because the room is too hot, or because you had just been running or something. Or sometimes the body… For example, for females, before the period comes every month, you may have fever, or your stomach may feel uncomfortable, or you may feel pain, etc. Don’t blame everything on invisible beings. I don’t see any. Why should they harass you?(Sometimes, when I go to public places, I’d also feel very uncomfortable. When I notice it, I would leave the place and then I’d feel much better.) Feeling uncomfortable in crowded places. (Right.) I know, but what can you do? Stay in your house alone all the time? (I always recite the Five Holy Names. When it’s very serious, I’ll play Master’s Buddhist chanting on my cell phone in my pocket. This helps ease the situation a little, but not completely.) Play Supreme Master TV, the Buddhist chanting, and my lectures. (Yes, I play them often, even in my office.)OK, then it’s fine. Sometimes, our body changes, or it’s because of our own karma. (OK.) Sometimes, it’s your own karma. Don’t accuse others randomly without any proof. (Thank You, Master.) If you accuse him, he’ll come to sue you. Let me tell you. (Thank You, Master. I dare not do it again.) Yes, groundless accusations. In my place here, my own disciples, they didn’t work properly, yet, I couldn’t accuse them, let alone for something that you can’t see and have no proof. I had concrete evidence, and still I couldn’t complain; not to mention something you can’t see. It’s nonsense, blaming everything on invisible beings or someone else.Complain only when you have proof, OK? You can’t accuse others without solid proof. They are my disciples here, with very solid evidence, and still I couldn’t complain. Of course, I told them. However, I felt that it was the karma of sentient beings and the world. I also couldn’t blame them. But since they acted as the maya’s tool to such an extent, they definitely will incur karma, and should be dealt with according to the law of karma. I am not angry with them. As their Master, I have the obligation to teach them and tell them frankly. But in my heart, I don’t blame them. It’s just that it had to be handled according to the law of karma.I had to tell them frankly that it was wrong. Even if it was the maya’s trick, still, they were working for the maya. Working for the maya is against our positive power, against Buddha Power. If they’re against us, they belong to another group. Then they need to bear the consequences, when they are dealt with according to the law of karma. If you turn right, you will go to the right. If you turn left, you will go to the left. If you drive south, you will go to the south. If you drive north, you will go to the north. I have taught you properly. You should follow my teachings and act accordingly. Be careful with what you do. Always take good care of yourselves, and be careful.Besides, he was a professional plumber and electrician. There’s no excuse for me to help him. For example like that. We can only complain when we have proof. Without any proof, it’s just delusions. When we get old, our body will naturally become different. It will change. Or, when women are in menstruation, they may have symptoms such as fever, headache, bodily pain, vomiting, and so on. Or you are not aware that you’re pregnant, so you feel sick and then blame the invisible beings. Please! Spiritual practitioners shouldn’t be so superstitious. Only when I’m really sure, do I dare say it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t dare say, or falsely accuse others. Invisible beings are no different.

Истинското значение на монашеството, част 5 от 9

Истинското значение на монашеството, част 5 от 9

The Original Self is the Light. The Original Self is the inner Sound. That’s your Original Self. No face, no eyes. It’s just brightness and free-spirited (Inner Heavenly music.) You are just that. (Next question. Thank You Master for sending maya to the eternal hell. Master, when will the rest of the negative power on the Earth be completely erased?) When we all die, then it will be fine. Negative power is still in ourselves. It exists in humans and animals. It is locked in some before they are born. Both good and bad. So, take it easy. It has already decreased a lot. No additional power and pressure has been added on. For example, you are in a big lake, and you keep swimming. You have strength, of course, but you will get tired. If the water in the lake suddenly disappears, you won’t be excessively tired. You don’t have to swim and spend more energy in order to get out. Now the lake is dry. You can walk ashore freely, understand?(Second question. Does Earth then become the real Heaven?) I don’t know. When it comes, we will know. Why worry? I have already told you that I can’t tell fortunes. I don’t want to tell fortunes. You are already old, what are you afraid of? When your son grows up, he will tell you, if you are still alive.(Next question. I want to report an experience to Master. When the retreat started several days ago, Master came out to sit on the stage to give a lecture. I felt a bright light above my head and it made a blue opening. I want to ask Master if it means that my heavenly door is open?) Oh, it sounds like it. Did you go through it? OK, never mind. Having an experience is already great. Why bother asking questions, whether the heavenly door is open or not? It is open when you are initiated. This is one kind of experience. If you see a door, then go out to see what’s going on outside. Anything more? OK, read others.(Dear Master, in 2017, I meditated on a mountain in Qinghai province, China. The nine-month retreat was the happiest time of my life. Master continuously uplifts me. I had a special experience that I don’t quite understand. One night, I woke up at midnight, and I felt that I had become like air. So peaceful and tranquil. But everything in this world feels unrelated to me. I can’t even quite remember that there’s still “me.” I want to ask Master if this is the Original Self? Thank You, Master.)Is it? No, it’s just one kind of experience. Don’t grab on to it, OK? There are still many experiences that can’t be seen so soon. The Original Self is the Light. The Original Self is the inner Sound. That’s your Original Self. No face, no eyes. It’s just brightness and free-spirited (Inner Heavenly music.) You are just that. Next one.(Master, during Light meditation, I saw a small and bright light spot. But I saw other scenes at the same time. Should I focus on the light spot? Or should I do Light meditation normally, without focusing too much? Thank You, Master.) A bright, blue spot? How small? How small was it? (The little light spot was brighter, but tiny.) How tiny was it? (How big?) Like this? (It gradually zoomed out and became smaller. It’s big when it’s near.) (It became smaller when it was farther, and became bigger when it was closer.) Right, right! You focus on that, OK? At the center. (Thank You, Master.) Just focus on the center. For as long as you can. It will open up (Yes.) and then you can go through. There are higher realms beyond.(Last evening, I went to the Celestial Jewelry group to purchase Master’s latest jewelry design – the Elixir series bracelet. Without me asking, a sister came over to help me, so that I was able to make the purchase in the quickest way. I was very surprised, and as soon as I received the jewelry, that sister disappeared. Thank You, Master.)What are you laughing at? Why? (The manifestation body of Master helped her.) No. That sister really helped her. Good. You should thank her. (Because I had been thinking of buying that jewelry all the time, Master quickly sent this sister to me. She appeared very suddenly and then disappeared suddenly too.) I understand, OK. (Thank You, Master.) You are welcome. Have you got it? Oh! Beautiful.(I love the Celestial Jewelry designed by Master, and I always wear it at work. People around me are very happy. I feel this is all due to Master’s love and blessing power, which are spread out through us who are wearing it. I am extremely grateful to Master.) Some people see light emanating from people who are wearing the jewelry. (It’s really true. Many people feel “Wow!” because they are dazzled.) OK. (Thank You. There is another benefit in purchasing the Celestial Jewelry, which is to help us save money to do what we want to do the most. Thus, we won’t squander money. Thank You, Master.) You are welcome. The Celestial Jewelry is helpful somehow.(Dear Master, originally, my husband didn’t want me to come. Later, my son said, “Dad, please let mom go.” Master, my son has completely changed. He supported me to come to the retreat this time. I am grateful to Master’s blessing that has uplifted their souls. Thank You, Master.)You are welcome. Congratulations. Who told you to have a husband and son, and then be controlled by them. Even your son controls you. That’s what men do, always controlling the women near them. Strange! It’s always out of love that they come; too much love. Thank you.(On October 1st this year, I came to join the special event that Master held for the artist friends. After the event, I was dragging my luggage alone and was planning to take the bus, and then transfer to a train to go to the airport in Kaohsiung. Suddenly, a fellow initiate drove by and the initiate turned around, specifically for me, to give me a ride to the airport. Thank You, Master, for this arrangement. Also, when coming to this retreat, it was already eight in the evening when I arrived near the New Land, and I also got lost. Just at the time when I didn’t know what to do, a car drove by. I said hallo to him and told him that I was a disciple of Supreme Master Ching Hai. He then agreed to drive me to New Land, so that I could finish my arrival registration smoothly. Thank You, Master.)You are welcome. This is common. This is a common thing. When I get lost, I would also seek help from the neighbors, and they would show me the way home. They do it willingly and it is very typical. If I drive home alone, I’d definitely get lost, even in here.(I was being disturbed by invisible beings before the initiation. Thanks to Master’s blessing, the situation has been improving as I practice along. Yet, I also feel very bad when I see them suffering a lot. Master, please help liberate the invisible beings near me from the sea of suffering. Thank You, Master, for Your blessing.)They are your enemies or debtors. As you practice more, they will naturally be liberated. They may be your enemies, or relatives and friends. They are urging you to practice harder. Next one, please. Today, a lot of men are asking questions. That’s good. Usually, it seems you have no questions. Go on.(Master, sometimes I feel that a negative power is asking me to do something that I don’t want to do. Last year, a spiritual practitioner told me there’s a dark spirit like a bear on me. I met him when meditating on a mountain. Master, please enlighten me.)How do I enlighten you? He loves you and you should be happy. Just tell him to leave. If you don’t like him, just tell him: “Please! Let me practice spiritually.”(Master, can You please check whether he has left me or not?) I don’t see anything. How would they dare to come here to let me see them? If you still see him after you go home, that means he has not left. You tell him: “Let me be free. Master will help you. Stop harassing me. Otherwise, your karma will become worse.” Tell him in this way, OK? Do you see anyone near him? How would this type of invisible being dare to make trouble in our place here? When they can see that we have lots of strong women here, they wouldn’t even dare to look from afar, let alone come here to make trouble. If he comes here, we will take care of him.

Истинското значение на монашеството, част 4 от 9

00:29:53

Истинското значение на монашеството, част 4 от 9

When we come back to the world this time, it doesn’t matter what we do or whether we are Buddha or not. Within our scope of work, we respect our own lives. We do our best to respect the work we do, 100 percent. That is good enough. You don’t need to care what position you are in and what it is for. They’re all illusionary titles. For example, there are three initiates from Costa Rica. Master paid for their plane tickets, because I know they don’t have the money. They really wanted to see me. They have very good experiences, excellent experiences. They’re very good and very sincere. Every time I went to see them, they were exactly the same. But I am rarely able to go to those countries, because I’m busy here. Here is more convenient for you Asians. If I go to America, or to Central and South America, it won’t be convenient for you. It’s not easy to get a visa and not convenient to get around. Because we don’t speak their language, so sometimes we can get lost. Many cities of the countries in Central and South America have the same name. There’s one guy who wanted to go to San Jose. There is a San Jose in the United States, too. He wanted to go to San Jose in the USA. They sent him to San Jose in Costa Rica instead. It’s a real aviation story. I also had this problem myself. I wanted to go there, and they sent me over there, instead. Luckily, at the last second, they said, “Oh! No, no, sorry! So and so, come and sign up with us. It’s wrong, wrong! Hurry up and we’ll change Your ticket.” And then really everything had to be changed. The luggage was fine. I didn’t have much luggage. But some luggage was already checked-in. Luckily, I had the most important one with me. So, it was OK. I said, “You’d better take care of my luggage and give them back to me.” They did take good care of them.It was a real mistake! The plane was wrong, and the time was wrong. They made me run and got me exhausted. Finally, I couldn’t run any longer by myself. I didn’t know where to go at that time. I forgot. It doesn’t matter. It just really happened. I ran halfway and I couldn’t stand it. I couldn’t pull that luggage and run with it any longer. I saw a chocolate shop in the airport. I left my luggage there and I said, “Keep an eye on it! I have to go. I have to go.” She said, “No, No, No! Cannot, Cannot! Come! Come back, Come back!” “Come back, come back!” “No, no!” I didn’t want to listen. I just pretended I didn’t understand and ran away. Because I was going to be back there in a minute. If I pulled it back and forth, I’d pass out in a minute. I am small and weak. The weakest and the smallest, yet I have to do the biggest job. God is not fair. And there’s more and more work as I get older. What does that mean? Most people retire at 60. I’m 70 already, but I have more work than before. Hes is kidding. God must be kidding. They bully me. And I can’t do anything about it. My work matters. Hes has rules. I have to do it, and I must do it well. Besides, my heart can’t let go. I can’t let go of the sentient beings. I can’t let them go. I can’t give up on humans and animals. You said you are attached to something, I am even more attached.I’m attached to my job. I can’t let go. I can’t let go of their suffering. I can’t ignore it. I can’t say I don’t know. I can’t pretend to hear and know nothing. I can’t. I think of people’s suffering, while I’m sleeping and meditating. Sometimes, I shed tears when I eat half of my meal, and then I can’t eat anymore. For example like this. I can’t put it down, truly, I can’t. You say you are attached to your family members, your clan. I am attached to a bigger family, everybody. A very big family. I have a lot of family members. You only have a few, and you’re so attached already. Besides, my family is so big, isn’t it? I have the whole world, how can I put it down? And animals, too. You’ve only got a few kittens and puppies. When they get sick or pass away, you feel so much pain. I have animals of the whole world, clinging to my heart. I can’t let go. Even all creatures. I truly can’t let go. Sometimes, I would say to my dogs, “We have to sacrifice. Sometimes, I don’t see you because I’m too busy working. I’m not ignoring you. You carry on with your lives. We’ll see each other when I’m free, OK? Sometimes, when I can’t see you, I can’t see you. Not that I don’t love you. But we have to sacrifice for the multitude of animals and people.” They understood. They all understood very clearly. Last time, because I had to do a retreat. I meditated by myself for a few days. I do a retreat whenever I can find time, alone. The last time, I wanted to have a retreat for three days. The whole group of dogs came, and I said, “I’m going to do a retreat tomorrow. I need to be alone. I can’t see you guys. Please understand. Don’t be sad, and don’t think that I’ve abandoned you.” Oh! I made a mistake. They wanted to leave my place right away. They cried and made noise, and I had to get someone to take them away. I told them it was tomorrow morning. It was pretty late by then. But they didn’t stop until someone came and took them away. This is what happened.Sometimes, they are already here, asleep. Then I’ll tell them when I finish my work. They know that they are going soon. After an hour or two later, they need to leave anyway. So, they don’t make any noise. This time I told them too soon, too early. Oh! The whole group cried and made noise. Usually they are clamoring to come. That day, they were clamoring to leave. I said, “Are you really angry with me or you don’t love me? Why do you behave like this today?” He said, “To let You be free. To let You be free and prepare Yourself.” It’s like that. Don’t think that the small dogs don’t know anything. Anything else? I’m sorry. (Yes, there’s more.) OK.(Dear Master, I opened my eyes during meditation, and I saw Master’s portrait changing constantly.) This one? (It was changing to various images. Master, is this the so-called Master’s billions of transformation bodies?) Does it need to be asked? My God. It’s just a symbol. Billions of transformation bodies are not like that. That is the Master’s inner power manifesting in different places, with different looks to save different people. Because some people don’t know Master. Let’s say a person believes in Jesus only, but he has affinity with me and is sincere. He asks Jesus to help him in his home. If I go to him without looking like a monk and tell him, “I’ll save you”, he will freak out. Therefore, I’ll appear in Jesus’s image to help him. It’ll make him have more faith. If you have faith, you are saved. This is called the billions transformation bodies. The power from the headquarters of the Universe can manifest in different shapes for the benefit of different beings. But that’s a picture, maybe you had blurred vision. Actually, it just helps you to understand. It’s a symbol. It’s not merely a photo. When Master is here, it is like a real person, to reassure you that Master is here, to let you know, so you are happy. Master doesn’t have only one look, but many. Even a photo can change like that, just to make you understand. It’s an experience. Congratulations.(Next question. Master, I have three questions.) OK. (The first question is when I am at work, I use my brain all the time. Master, how can I get rid of the habit of using the brain excessively?) Does it mean that he continues to use his brain after work? (Yes.) I can’t help you. Recite the Five Holy Names. Recite them at work when you can. Recite whenever you can. Also, when you’re not working. We can’t help it. We need brains, too. Otherwise, the brain will go rusty. The brain is the brain. We should recite the Holy Names. Recite when you meditate. I know it’s hard to change sometimes. That’s why we need to practice daily. Otherwise, just receiving initiation is good enough. It’s hard to change. Take it easy. It doesn’t matter. You still have faith and that is good. The second question.(The second question. Master, in Your earlier discourses, You mentioned that it’s always the same few Buddhas delivering the sentient beings, such as Maitreya and Quan Yin Bodhisattva. It’s always these Buddhas. May I ask Master if these Buddhas were all Your reincarnations?) No, not all of Them were “me.” Give other beings a chance, OK? Some were, some were not. Like Shakyamuni Buddha, He was not my reincarnation. Some others, yes. I don’t want to say it, in case people think that I’m bragging. But not all the Buddhas nor the Quan Yin Bodhisattvas were me. I don’t necessarily have to be the Buddhas. I don’t necessarily have to shave and wear monk’s robe. I also tried this time, but I was still called to wear these worldly clothes again. It doesn’t matter. I’m still a monk. I became a monk to save people and sentient beings, not to be worshipped or believed by people. So, whatever I wear is OK. All right.(The third question. Does every soul, born in this universe have a special destiny? For example, is the person destined to become an enlightened master? Or become a god? Or even the king of a heaven? Thank You, Master.) Not everyone is destined to be a Master, of course. Otherwise, it’s too competitive. “This is mine. I am the Master. Come over here. No, No. Go over there.” It’s not like that. Whatever we are is fine. For example, Ananda. He had been a Buddha for a long time. But he was reincarnated as Shakyamuni Buddha’s attendant. He had reincarnated as Shakyamuni Buddha’s relatives, friends, attendants, etc. When we come back to the world this time, it doesn’t matter what we do or whether we are Buddha or not. Within our scope of work, we respect our own lives. We do our best to respect the work we do, 100 percent. That is good enough. You don’t need to care what position you are in and what it is for. They’re all illusionary titles.Even Buddha doesn’t care whether people call Him Buddha or not. Just because we respect Him, we call Him that. When Shakyamuni Buddha reincarnated, He didn’t reincarnate to be Buddha every life. He had become Buddha millions of billions of eons ago. He sometimes still reincarnated to be a king; sometimes to be an ordinary cowboy; sometimes a golden deer. Or He came back to become different beings in different positions. Buddhas don’t mind what They are. They come back to help beings. OK, anything else? Thank you. Are you satisfied? Understand? No more questions? (I just hope that my merits gained in this retreat can help me obtain the method to communicate with my inner Master anytime.) Let’s talk about it later. (OK, I will continue to practice hard.) Thank you. Communication is always there. It’s just that you don’t… I can get to you but you don’t talk.(Next question. Master, my son has been initiated by Master and practiced hard. He’s been working in a temple, and he wants to become a monk. Master, will that affect his practice?) In a temple? (Yes.) Be a monk. No, if he wants to, then let him. He wants to be a monk, then let him be a monk. Just tell him to continue practicing the Quan Yin Method. Being a monk in a temple is also a type of work. He sweeps the floor, cooks, or cleans the Buddha statue. It is the same as working. All of us have a different job anyway, and we continue to practice the Quan Yin Method. For example, he works as a taxi driver, and he still practices the Quan Yin Method. He becomes a monk at a temple and still practices the Quan Yin Method, then it’s fine. In a temple, he can have vegan food easily, without being contaminated. It’s great. You don’t want him to be a monk because you want children or grandchildren, right? A worldly mother’s mind. Not necessary. (I am very supportive.) Good, then OK. (I am just afraid it will affect his practice.) It will not affect his practice. (OK, thank You Master.) He likes to be a monk, then let him be. (OK, thank You Master.) Let him do what he likes, just don’t let him do bad things. Being a monk won’t be a bad thing. I also want to; I like to be a nun. I want to sweep temples, and eat every day, without so many responsibilities. My mission is different. Thank you. (OK, thank You Master.) You are welcome.

Истинското значение на монашеството, част 3 от 9

Истинското значение на монашеството, част 3 от 9

Because of this, you should keep your faith, OK? (OK.) I didn’t deceive you. I never did. There’s no reason to deceive you. Faith is the mother of all Dharma virtues. That’s it. So, keep your faith. No matter how people insult or hurt me, you just have faith, OK?Anything else? (Also, there is a vegan restaurant called Miao Hui Lian, meaning Wonder-Wisdom-Lotus. Their boss also runs vegan restaurants. Now, his wish is to launch chain outlets throughout the country. He provides free meals to the cleaners every day, in Changchun City. To the cleaners sweeping the streets, he provides free meals every day. He also serves free meals to meat-eating people, to let them know that we vegans can be very healthy. Recently, our fellow initiates also participated in this activity. After getting in touch with Master’s teachings, he was deeply touched. He has practiced the Pure Land Buddhism for a very long time. Now he thinks that he’s been wasting his time and has begun to learn our method. He intends to do this. He vowed to persist in doing this work until the whole Chinese population becomes vegan.) Wow! (That’s it.) Wow! (His restaurants are always crowded.) That’s a grand vow. (Always a long line of customers.)Good, good. Thank him. It doesn’t matter whether he follows me or not. Doing charity work, not killing, observing the vegan diet, believing in God or Buddha are good enough. Thank you. (It’s true.) Thank him, and tell him that I strongly support him. Anything else?(There’s a request from North Korea. He said he wanted to invite Master to hold a painting exhibition in North Korea.) Then you can organize it. I can’t do it. (I told them about Master’s works.) Can Taiwanese (Formosan) people go over there? (They can go.) Good. Then you contact the people in charge of exhibitions. OK? (OK. Thank You, Master.) I don’t manage my paintings. After I finished painting, I don’t know where they put them. (OK, thank You.) Contact and report to them what you want to do. (OK.) If I say OK, they will find a way to do it. (OK, thank You, Master. Thank You. That’s all.) Was it a fellow initiate or someone else in North Korea? Who’s the one requesting? The person inviting us belongs to the government of North Korea. Why did he request my paintings? (It’s because they asked me, “What kind of organization is your group?” I said we practice spiritually for liberation, and we do charity work and protect animals, etc. He asked me what Master taught us, so I said Master taught us how to attain liberation. Also, we only say and listen to good things, and ignore things that are not good. We endeavor to serve humankind. I also introduced some of Master’s designs to them. He asked, “Is there anything else?” I said our Master can paint. There are Celestial Jewelry clothes, fans, and lamps, etc. I introduced it to them and they were very happy.)You mean artworks? (Yes, all artworks.) OK. It’s OK. (Thank You, Master.) You are welcome. Anything else? Thank you, and thank everyone. Tell them that I’m very grateful for all their support in doing this work. Thank them. OK, thank you. The next question.(She wants to report an experience. Several days ago, when I was doing cleaning work at New Land Ashram, I was surprised to find that the Heritage Museum looks exactly the same as what I saw in my dream, more than 10 years ago when I was initiated. Only, that the house was white and transparent in my dream. The ornaments and the staircase at the front were exactly the same. Also, there was a monk in there, who was very transparent and dignified. He was watering the flowers in the stairwell. I really wanted to go inside at that time. The museum looked very beautiful. Thank You, Master.)Is this her question? (An experience.) An experience. Of course, the inner world is similar to our world, only more beautiful. More beautiful. That means, according to our inner spiritual level, physical aspects will also change. For example, when an ordinary person looks at a tree, there’s nothing special, just a tree. But a spiritual practitioner may see a tree radiating light. Or a tree… For instance, a sister said that she saw trees at Hsihu Ashram bending to form something like a door for me to pass through. Other fellow initiates and other people were unable to see this. She also saw a tree that offers protection, a Dharma guard. For example like that. She said that all the trees were radiating light. The flowers were also different. Likewise, if our inner spiritual level is higher, things we see will be more beautiful. The reason that the world is not pretty, is because our spiritual practice is not good. Next one, please. (Next question. Dear beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai, I am a doctor of Chinese medicine in China. I’d like to report a miraculous response. This October, my mother suffered from a severe cardio-vascular condition. I prayed for Master’s help to deliver my mother to Heaven. In less than a minute, my mother passed away smoothly to Heaven, without the slightest pain, but with a smiling face. All the medical staff were extremely amazed. Again, I thank our greatest Master. Thank You, Master.)What’s the surprise about? What’s the reason? (No pain, and she quickly went to Heaven.) Understand. OK, you are welcome. I am also happy for you. Your mom departed in bliss and peace. We’re bound to leave sooner or later. It’s a great blessing to be able to depart in peace. That’s already very good. Even a little pain before departure is just to eliminate the final karma. But, it’s good that your mom departed smoothly with bliss. Your mom is going to be fine. Your spiritual practice is good and sincere, so of course, your mom will be fine. Any other questions? No. Good. Then sit down and take a rest.Because you can’t see me, it’s better that I stand up. I’ll try my best, cautiously. You see, she is a doctor, yet she couldn’t help her mother, nor could anyone else. When her time was up, that was her destiny; even medicine couldn’t save her. Even Hua Tuo or Bian Que couldn’t do anything. One time, (Cao Cao.) Cao Cao was ill. Something was wrong with his brain. He summoned Hua Tuo, or was it Bian Que? I forgot. I was only seven when I read this. Now I’ve forgotten. Hua Tuo said that he needed to perform surgery on his brain to save him. Cao Cao couldn’t believe it. He was really ahead of his time. There was no such surgery back then. Yet he knew how to do it. So amazing. But, you see, Cao Cao had a bad destiny, so he couldn’t benefit from even the best doctor in the world. We are spiritual practitioners, so we are able to help ourselves. Of course, we should go to see a doctor when we are sick. But if the doctor can’t save us, then it’s our destiny. It’s strange! Why can’t I open it? Ah, I got it! This is similar to the Quan Yin Method. It opens only when you’ve pressed the right button. It also has such a button. I can’t open it in this way. But when I press it, you see, it is opened. Same with the Quan Yin Method and spiritual practitioners; it wouldn’t open if you knocked on the wrong door. Of course, we need to see a doctor, but that also depends on our destiny and the level of our spiritual practice.Yesterday, I told you before, that the Heavens have warned me two or three times already. They said, “If You go out, Your reputation will be ruined.” It’s not something that you can see. Sometimes it’s not so public, like I’m insulted or slandered by outsiders in newspapers. The first day They said, “Your reputation will be ruined if You go out today.” The second day They said, “If You go out, Your Worth will go down and be lost.” I said, “I’m not afraid of that. I am not here for people’s respect or worship. In fact, they don’t have to believe me.” That’s it and that’s the way it should be. Everyone loves to see me, so I will come out to see them. I just carry on with my work each day. I don’t care what will happen in the future. It’s not that you’re going to see people coming over here, beating and scolding Master. It’s not like that. The consequence won’t happen so soon.Sometimes, after Master’s Worth has been reduced, disciples would do strange things to cause harm or disobey instructions. Or the working staff next to Master would do the opposite. They seem to become disrespectful on the inside and not obedient anymore. That’s all there is. Not necessarily publicized, like some fake news on TV or newspaper. That’s why I told you yesterday to keep your faith. For instance, if a world champion drowns in a stormy sea, it doesn’t mean that he’s not worthy of being a champion. It’s due to the circumstance. So just keep your faith, then you’ll be OK. Because Master never taught anyone to do anything bad, did I? At least it is so.And believing Master is of your own free will. I did not say that you have to believe me, or what. No. Is it so? (Yes.) I’d rather you didn’t come, to be honest. Then I wouldn’t have to work. Wouldn’t it be nice to sleep when I’m tired and eat when I’m hungry? That’s what a monk’s life is supposed to be like. And I wouldn’t have to wear these kind of clothes for people to criticize. Why would I wear these if I am alone? Why would I need to make money? I could go to any temple. There are many temples in Taiwan (Formosa). If I shaved my head again and wore monk’s clothes, any temple I go to would accept me. Taiwanese (Formosan) temples are very simple. I’d be happy to sweep the floor over there. I would have food to eat.Why do I have to wear these clothes and to sell clothes? Also design a whole bunch of things. Why do I have to greet people and trouble many people? And owe a lot of favors to the working staff. Because of this, you should keep your faith, OK? (OK.) I didn’t deceive you. I never did. There’s no reason to deceive you. Faith is the mother of all Dharma virtues. That’s it. So, keep your faith. No matter how people insult or hurt me, you just have faith, OK? (OK! Master, we will always have faith in You.) Good. Thank you.You see, like the sister, she is a traditional Chinese medicine doctor. She saved many lives. But when her mother was ill, she was helpless. Not that she didn’t try, she did her best. It’s not that she didn’t know how to save her mother. It was the time for her mother to cleanse some of her karma, so in the end, she could go to Heaven. OK. Understand? (Understand.) Even the best swimmer in the world cannot be left in a stormy sea to swim forever and to never get tired, understand? (Understand.) He will be harmed.Buddha also got hurt by others when He came down to this world. It’s not because He had no psychic power or magical power. He had them all. He just reacted when He should and endured when He had to. Another example like Lord Mahavira, I’ve told you a lot of stories about Him. He could save His disciples. When His disciple was burned by fire, He emanated His cool, kind and peaceful energy to put out the fire. He could also save others like that. How could He not save Himself? He had to endure. That’s how He was predestined to save the world. So, don’t lose your faith. Having faith is the best. I don’t know of anything better in the world. (There’s Not.) Or anyone who can teach you better. But if there is, you tell me. If someone is better than Master, you tell me. I will also learn from him. If you haven’t found one yet, just follow Master. Understand? (Understand.) Thank you. Thank you. It’s safer this way. She asks for nothing. If you want to give relief, you can do it yourselves. She’d do it along with you. She doesn’t request you to give relief. She never demanded you to donate your hard-earned money. She never forced you to come over here to see Her, etc. Some of the initiates have no money, and I even paid for their plane tickets and other fees to let them come here. Some countries are poor. And I’ve known the initiates for a long time. They are very sincere and have strong faith. I haven’t seen them for a long time, and I can’t go over there. For example, there are three initiates from Costa Rica. Master paid for their plane tickets, because I know they don’t have the money. They really wanted to see me. They have very good experiences, excellent experiences. They’re very good and have strong faith. Every time I went to see them, they were exactly the same. But I am rarely able to go to those countries, because I’m busy here. Here is more convenient for you Asians. If I go to America, or to Central and South America, it won’t be convenient for you. It’s not easy to get a visa and not convenient to get around.

Истинското значение на монашеството, част 2 от 9

We cannot just look at the appearance and criticize the boss, the government or big officials of the government, etc. They have their own difficulties. You have to think carefully. Even if you want to criticize, it should be a suggestion of goodwill. It’s all right. Mistakes are not always avoidable. Any job can have its loopholes, and people make mistakes sometimes. But it’s easy to say. Master is very strict with them. In order to contribute to the world, we have to make it perfect. Where it’s avoidable, you shouldn’t make mistakes. If you still do, then I’ll be very strict with you. However, to work in such a big group, we would overlook some parts for sure. Occasionally, I go on retreats for several days. Nowadays, I haven’t been able to do retreats for a few weeks or one month already. Because I know, that once I’m on retreat, everyone will mess up. No one supervises. There’s someone checking, but it’s still not the same. For instance, babysitting children by yourself is different than having others babysit for you. Is it not so? (Yes.) If you work at your job attentively out of love, it will be different when you ask someone else to do it for you. His concentration is different, and so is his personality. His attentiveness and styles are different. You won’t have the same level of satisfaction. That’s why you can’t just leave the work to them, as if letting children do it. No. Doing it occasionally is OK, but it can’t happen frequently. There’s a story in Japan. A monk took care of some work in the kitchen every day. One day, a follower came and said, “Master, you’re at such an old age, why don’t you find someone else to do it for you? Why do you have to work so hard? You can ask him to do it.” The monk answered, “He is not me.” It means that he and I work in different ways. It’s not that perfect, not that attentive. You know it, right? (Yes.)When people out there work for someone else, they also should not go against their boss. Even though it might appear as if employees are doing the work rather than the boss, the boss still has to take responsibility. He has to put in his money, venturing his capital in the business. That is also a very important part. If anything happens, he himself has to take responsibility, even if it’s the fault of his workers. Therefore, being a boss is not that easy. Of course, we all think that he earns a lot of money, much more than we do. And it looks like they haven’t done much. They drive nice cars and their wives wear beautiful clothes. They have meetings over here today and over there tomorrow. They meet with important people, etc.And we don’t have anything except working every day, and we go home with only a little money. It’s not so. It’s not like that. He goes to meetings for the company. It’s also a kind of social activity, such as going to court, etc. He has to cultivate relationships with others. When he goes to the meeting, he looks good. He dresses himself fittingly. He has to go in a shiny car, so that people respect him and think, “His business must be very successful.” Otherwise, they’d be afraid of losing money by doing business with him. Therefore, appearance is very important for the boss and his wife. It’s not because of the appearance only. There are reasons behind it. We cannot just look at the appearance and criticize the boss, the government or big officials of the government, etc. They have their own difficulties. You have to think carefully. Even if you want to criticize, it should be a suggestion of goodwill. Because this boss has a lot to do. She has to design things and wear clothes of Her own design. She has to take care of the ashram and has to buy ashrams. And this ashram is not the first one She has bought. For this one, She paid for half. For other ashrams, big or small, She bought most of them for initiates. No one has offered anything. No one has bought any ashram for us. There are one or two times that several people contributed small pieces of land. It was in former times, when I didn’t have many disciples. Some of them offered a few pieces of land. But later, they took them back. After we had built houses and taken care of them, they took the land back for their sons or daughters. It all happened. It’s very rare that people will offer without conditions. Unlike when Shakyamuni Buddha was alive, someone paved the ground with gold.People offer to the Buddha and His monks, a piece of land as their ashram. Very rare, nowadays. It’s already very good that they don’t harm you, speak ill of you secretly or kill you, not to mention about offering you anything. When Shakyamuni Buddha was still alive, I don’t know if His disciples would go to Him when the ashram ran out of water. “Honorable Buddha, there’s no water!” It’s a good thing that there was no electricity at that time. That’s why they didn’t complain, “No water! No electricity!” It’s really the “Dharma-ending age” now, very different from before. But slowly, we are coming to the Golden Age. Take your time. The world has changed; that’s good.Do you Chinese have any questions? How many questions? (More than ten questions.) More than ten? OK. You read them one by one. (Respected and beloved Master, I have some good news to report to You.) Good. We love to hear good news. Do you like it? (Yes, we do. We like it.) (Following Master’s instructions, we bought 30 tons of rice to be distributed to Pyongyang. Upon arrival at Pyongyang, the reception staff said they very much welcome our Ching Hai group.) North Korea? That’s right. Is it that sister? Good. Then what did they say? And who said this?(People in Pyongyang said that they warmly welcome our Ching Hai group. They said that they have never received such premium rice. They were very grateful to Supreme Master Ching Hai.) They didn’t know that I had quietly contributed to North Korea before. It was much more than this time, through the King of Cambodia. The two countries were friends. At that time, we couldn’t communicate with them, so we asked the King of Cambodia and the government to send it to them. It was a lot, but I kept quiet. About US$800,000. And we continued to send more later.(We’re preparing to send another 60 tons of rice next year.) Sixty tons of rice? (Yes.) OK, very good. You can contact the fellow initiate in charge of our accounting. I’ll give you more money to buy more for them. Also buy more of something else, not just rice. If it’s just rice, it is very heavy. Buy something for the children to eat. If vegan milk is available, also buy some for the children. Is the sister around? Is she here? (Yes, she’s here.) Please stand up. Are you working together with the other one?(Yes, actually, I am charge because of Master’s instructions. Then they requested for something to feed the infants. They asked for milk because the infants had nothing to eat. I said milk is not good, and I suggested rice milk. That's how we feed our children. He said it’s OK, and asked us to buy nutritious food for the infants. I’ve already said yes.)Originally, I wanted to do it quietly. Then you asked me in writing about whether you could do it in the name of our group, so I consented. We do this to benefit others. It doesn’t matter whether it’s in our group’s name or not. (Understand.) You wrote me a letter asking whether you can make the donation in the name of Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association, (Understand.) as it’d be more formal. If it is OK, legal and doesn’t cause any trouble, then of course it’s OK. (Yes.) Whenever you go there for relief, let us know first, so that we can also supply something. OK? (OK.)How do I contact you? How do I contact you if I want to contribute something? (My phone number…) Just write it down quickly. Ask her to write it down. Yes. Must respect your privacy. Do you have pen and paper there? He’d given it to her. Write it down. The guards are really helpful. They have everything, even a mirror for me to check my lipstick. Even a comb for my hair. When I urgently exclaimed, “I don’t have a comb. The wind has made a mess of my hair.” He immediately gave me a comb. The person who trained them is very good. They are very well-trained.Originally, I wanted to use some girls but I was worried that they might be too weak to stop people like you. I am not sure. Perhaps I’ll try again later. These men have served in the military, so at least they know how to react. They are alert. When women have their period, they become weak and agitated. I can’t wait three of four days for them to resume guard duty. If it happens to be Sunday, she will be OK on Tuesday. By then it’s too late. It’s not discrimination. I’m just being considerate. Men are stronger. They can run, and won’t be easily overcome by people. Women may be too weak. Most women are weaker than men. We rarely see women taller than men. Is that right? Very good. This one is not radiant, right? These spectacles are anti-reflective. Is that right? Very good. This is the type that they should buy. There are two types of glasses. One can reflect light, and one cannot. (It looks OK.) Is this one OK? Because some glasses can reflect light, and people think that my eyes are sparkling. Some say that it is not real.Give me that telephone number. Have you written it down? (It’s on the table. Yes, it’s on the table. It’s on the table.) You see, when I look at you, I forget everything. I’m just like you. I forget everything when I see you. I don’t feel hungry, cold, thirsty or tired. I only feel tired when I go home later. Just like yesterday, I wasn’t tired. I didn’t look tired at all, did I? I ate with you, enjoyed jokes and looked very healthy and strong. After I went home, I sat down at the computer to work on documents. As soon as I sat down, I thought, “What’s wrong? Wake up! Wake up!” As soon as I sat down, I felt very sleepy. I was very tired. But I still went outside to have some cold air, then I felt better. I dared not eat anything. Sometimes, eating can change the atmosphere and wake me up. Eat just a little bit, not a lot. Instead of waking up, I’ll fall unconscious if I am very tired and eat a lot. Sometimes, there’re some good and tasty stuff. If I eat a lot, then I’ll fall unconscious. So I need to go out for some fresh air and exercise.I may come back feeling better. Otherwise, if I continued to work, then I definitely couldn’t finish anything. I would fall asleep on the desk. You know this perfectly well because you are professionals. Right? In here, there are no desks, and you still can sleep like that, resting on your chins. You are professionals. It’s OK. You sit very well. Sitting all day and night, this is quite good already. I’m very proud of you. It’s OK to rest on your chins. Occasionally, it is all right. Or, it’s also safer to rest on the shoulder of the one in front. Then he can rest on the one before him; each one resting on the one in front. In this way, you rest on each other. It’s OK as long as you don’t damage my floor. These floors are difficult to make. Do you know? That’s it, sister. But do inform us before you leave. Tell us earlier. Don’t say, “I’m leaving tomorrow.” Then it’s too rushed. I’ll tell the accountant. She’ll contact you, and you give her your telephone number. Or she’ll give you her number for you to contact her. You may also contact the Foreign Group. Understand? (Yes, thank You, Master.) The Foreign Group will report to me, (OK.) and I’ll tell them to allocate more money for you to buy more things for the children, the elderly, or for wintertime. (OK.) For people who are less cared for, or in urgent need. It could happen in any country, not just Korea. I’m also glad that you can take care of the Korean people. Thank you and everyone in your group. (Thank You, Master.) Infinite merits. (Thank You, Master.) You are welcome. Thank you. (Thank You, Master.)Because sometimes, you only tell me after you have done it. I can’t do it alone. I cannot possibly know which person is doing what, if they do not report to me. (This time, fellow initiates from Korea, Taiwan [Formosa] and those of us from China have supported and accomplished this mission perfectly.) Good. Of course, it is very good to be able to help other people. (Thank You, Master. I thank all of them.)Good. If you don’t need anything, it’s OK not to inform us. But if you need anything, do let me know. (OK.) I also want to contribute something. (OK, thank You.) I also want to help them. The Koreans are very nice. Only when they report to me, I know about the relief work. (Understand.) I wouldn’t know if they didn’t report. (Understand.) Even if I knew, I wouldn’t know whom to ask. (Yes.) OK, thank you. Next one, please.(Master, there is more good news. We worked together with some monks from the Pure Land Buddhism, and the guru of the Buddhist Academy.) Where is she? The same person? (Yes.) Then you speak. Let her speak. This sister speaks very good Mandarin. Who did you contact? (On November 24th this year.) This year? (Yes, just last month. Now it’s December. On the day that Master destroyed the maya, we received news that several lives were about to be put down in a slaughterhouse. After learning that, some initiates quickly gathered some money. They only gave us two days. If we didn’t get the money in two days, they would start killing the animals.) What kind of killing? (Killing cows to sell their meat. Killing animals.) Understand.(Our fellow initiates collected the money just in time to save these three lives. The next day, there was another news. People make winter coats with fur from foxes and minks. Fur coats made with animal fur. We heard that there were several thousand foxes in that batch. Not one or two hundred, but several thousands of them. Even if we tried our best, we couldn’t get so much money. The guru of Larung Gar Buddhist Academy in Tibet, China, he is a monk, a lama. Together with several monks from the Pure Land Buddhism and our fellow initiates, we worked together and saved about 10,087 foxes on that day.) Oh! Thank you. (They were loaded in several wagons. Each wagon can hold several hundred of them.) How can this be? (They skinned the foxes right in front of them. The little animals were petrified and crying. It really broke our hearts. It began from that day. Yesterday, I was informed that they had saved over a thousand yesterday, and also, more than a thousand on the day before.)Then, where did you put them? (We sent them to an animal shelter, a place specialized in protecting them. Originally, they were kept in cages. After we bought them, we released them into the wild.) Understand. You set them free. (They were jumping around in joy.) Free. (Yes, and then the monks and our group members explained to the animal farm workers about karma. The owner of the animal farm was shocked. He said, “I will stop doing this immediately and change my job.”) That’s great! (He sells four to five thousand foxes each year. Just one farm owner kills so many lives each year.) I know.(Another person was a meat vendor. Also, after we talked to him…Changed his occupation. He wrote a letter of intent. “I will change my job next year.”) He will change. (But, five days later, he said, “I can’t stand it. I am scared of this karmic retribution. I will change my job immediately, and give you a letter of intent.” He also donated 500 dollars. This owner also changed his job.) Very good. Thank you, and thank everyone. (We’ve been acting according to Master’s instructions, and have been protecting animals. Our initiates will deliver food to them twice a month, because the rescued animals need to be fed. We have to sustain their lives, until they die naturally. Therefore, we guaranteed them that we would provide food for them and protect them until they are released. In Hubei, Liaoning and Jilin provinces of China, we, the three groups, have cooperated until now. In less than a month, we have rescued 45,000 animals.)Wow! Thank you! Thank you! I’m really proud of you. Thank you! (Also, there are partners not from our group, but they work together with us.) All of you. (Every Sunday, four brothers, who believe in the Buddha, go to the cattle market, where they sell cows for meat. Every time, they bought three cows.) Slowly, they keep buying. (They bought them and saved their lives. They have been doing this for five years and have rescued more than 700 cows.) Thank you, thank you. (They are also protecting them.) Thank you. I can also help. (Our actions are the result of Master’s teachings.) I know, but you can let us know if you need any help. We’ve been helping other people, so we can also help you. (OK.) Thank you. (Thank You.)

Истинското значение на монашеството, част 1 от 9

Our work is global. It’s not only a couple of people that are responsible for one part. It’s global teamwork. I really do think that it’s very amazing. They’re doing a really wonderful job. They work as a team. Can you imagine?I’m sorry for being a little late today. I was busy with other work, the inner work. Hallo! If you, working staff, don’t have things to do now, can you come here to sit? You don’t have to stay outside. Keeping two guards outside the gate is enough. You all come in and sit here. Kitchen crew can also come in since there’s no one eating now. If they don’t eat, it doesn’t matter. They are spiritual practitioners, after all. Yes. They’ve often said that they don’t feel hungry when seeing Master. (Yes.) Don’t feel hungry. Don’t feel hungry or cold or anything. That’s why you can come in and sit; sitting in the back is also fine. I don’t think there’s any space in the front. Or else there’s plenty of space over there for you to sit. Just come in and sit wherever you can. Yes, no problem; they’re on retreat.(Hallo, Master.) Hallo. You don’t have to eat when you’re on retreats, do you? Only they and I work a lot and feel hungry. Why are you hungry after sitting for the whole day? No. I’m sorry. Hallo, everyone. (Hallo, Master.) Sorry. (Hallo, Master.) Hallo. I’m coughing a little bit; it’s nothing. I cough like this whenever there’s dust in the air. This time you’re warm. You don’t cough anymore; I cough for you. Hallo! (Hallo, Master!) Do we have more people today, or have you just changed the place? The number is the same? (The same.) Amitabha Buddha. No need, thank you.Today I came late. Very sorry. It’s your time to eat. I just want to say “Hallo” actually, so if you want, I can go, and then you go eat, (No!) and then I see you later, maybe. (No.) No? Yes, no? (No.) I don’t hear anything from the men. They want to go, they can go. You want to go? (No.) You already are a very small group number, so if you want to go, we’ll miss nothing, actually. If you don’t want to eat just now, it’s OK also. Even if you miss your meal today, I am not really sorry for you. I just feel happy for you. You owe the world a little less. Chinese? Are there all mainland Chinese today? I’m sorry. Mainland and small land Chinese, and I’m “middle land.” I’m stuck in-between. Then I’ll speak some Chinese. I don’t know if they can translate it into English. It’s quite difficult. Maybe Chinese can understand English. But some of you are from Mongolia and Âu Lạc(Vietnam), etc. How do you say, Korea, Spain. I don’t know if they can understand. What to do? Do I still have to speak Chinese? (It’s up to Master.) Huh? It’s right to let Master decide. (Yes, it’s up to Master to decide.) But it’s not up to Master. We’ll have to see what is better for others. Yesterday, I was talking about selfless dedication, and then today, you still want to do it your way. How many times do I have to say to make you understand? How many times? If I speak Mandarin, not everyone can understand. Some don’t understand Mandarin. Is it not so? And some of you speak Sichuan dialect, Heilong (“hei” meaning ‘black”) River or Bai (meaning “white”) river dialect, or even Kafei (meaning “coffee color”) river dialect. They speak all kinds of dialects. Is it so? (Yes.) Do all of you understand Mandarin? Raise your hands for me to have a look. How many of you don’t understand Mandarin? Raise your hands. You don’t dare now. Keep the Five Precepts; be honest. Those who are late sit in the back. There’s no prohibition. Come in, if you’d like. If you don’t like it, don’t come in. It’s so simple. It’s warmer inside, anyway. All working staff, if they don’t have to stay outside, then don’t. Let them in. I’m waiting. It’s special sales. I’m waiting. It’s special sales. I say, on sale. It’s a sale. I am waiting, so don’t worry. Come in, everybody can come in. Don’t worry about the customers, they will eat later. Every time they tell me when they see me, they’re not hungry, they’re not thirsty, they’re not cold, nothing. So, it’s OK. Understand? (Yes.) Each time you see Master, you always say that you’re not hungry, not cold and not what. You’re not anything.Anybody can come, just quietly. Anybody can come in and sit behind. Give them translation machines, if possible, OK? (OK.) What if I speak Greek? In England, sometimes I heard people say, “Oh, he sounds like Greek to me.” Meaning, he doesn’t understand. He speak a very unfamiliar language that I don’t understand. Greek and Russian are similar. We’ll all give in. Are the kitchen people here? Thank you all. Today, you have a seat and listen. OK? OK, OK, very good. I stand up to be a few more centimeters taller, for you to have a better look. The high-heels help. The high heels. Do you, the Westerners have enough translation? (Yes.) We have Greeks here. And we have Spanish, Chilean, as well as people from other countries. I can’t remember that much.Does it matter if you eat at a later time today? Join the club. I’m like that normally, and you might experience it only once here today. Usually, when you come here, you sit and wait for mealtimes. But today I couldn’t make it in time. First, I wanted to see you yesterday, but I ended up having too much work to come here. Second, I felt sorry for the guards, kitchen crew and security people, etc. If I came out, everybody would have to come out, too. They have been working all day. Yesterday, we worked almost all day. And that’s why we should let them rest a bit more. They have work outside, too. They’re not just working as guards here. Once I come out, they’d all be nervous. They’d not be able to rest and sit for a while. I thought, if I give you time, they should also have some time. We let them rest and meditate to recover their inner strength. That’s what I thought. There’s no hurry now that we’re in the retreat. There are no fixed rules of when Master will come out, or rules that guards have to stand all day. You try to stand and see if you can bear it for a few minutes. They stand for a long time. And they have to ask for days off from work for the retreat. They also have to negotiate with their wives. Or negotiate with their girlfriends in order to stand here. It’s not that easy. We should give them some time to meditate and rest. Is it OK? Understand now? (Yes.)Also, if Master is often with you and talks to you all day long, you’d not digest well. Even for vitamins or goodies, you cannot take too much, right? (Yes.) So just a little bit is enough. We don’t need many goodies, do we? You see, in the old times, kings didn’t feel like eating, because of too much food. Can you imagine that a king also eats three meals a day? Three meals are all right, but each meal had too much food. And the food was already cold when it was brought to him. It got even colder after the court eunuchs had tasted it first. He always had to eat second-hand food. What kind of king is that? He could only eat the “leftover” food. Those eunuchs were also very pitiful. Sometimes their stomachs were already full from tasting all kinds of food all day long, but they still had to taste the food. And in case the food was poisoned, then they died first. It was not that easy to be a eunuch. However, it was probably just symbolic. If somebody truly attempted to kill the king, he’d not put the poison in the food, since he’d know that the eunuch would taste the food first, right? Chefs would also taste it first. Maybe they wouldn’t be so stupid, except if they hated the eunuch. They would poison the eunuch.I speak English more fluently, but it’s all right. Just speaking some sentences to make you happy. Translation is very important. I’m just afraid that we don’t always have talented people to translate. Not all languages can be translated. It’s even more difficult to translate from Chinese. You still didn’t learn English even though I’ve told you to do so. You can’t even learn one language. How am I supposed to use my magical power to translate so many languages for you? And Chinese is very difficult to learn. For example, for a Greek to translate from Chinese into Greek, can you imagine? Can he do that? Very difficult. Even if he has learned Chinese, he probably can’t understand everything. It’s good that I only talked in plain language. I didn’t use profound language to make you feel that I’m amazing. In the end, you don’t understand anything and don’t remember what I talked about. All right, I’m saying that if you don’t have a meal to eat today, it doesn’t matter. Just have sympathy for Master, because sometimes, I can’t eat on time. I can’t do anything about it, and every day it’s like that. I have to finish the documents once they’re in my hands. There are urgent documents almost every day. I can’t wait, even if it’s not urgent. Even if there are no urgent ones that need be aired today, I will need to read them. Because I don’t just read, I have to do corrections or approve something. After I’ve corrected and approved them, they still have to translate them into many languages in order to broadcast it. Then the video editors also need to put them on the screen. A lot of things have to be done. Therefore, even if it’s not going to be broadcast today or tomorrow, I still have to do my part first. The sooner I can do it, the better. It gives them enough time to put translations on the screen for scheduling. Our work is global. It’s not only a couple of people that are responsible for one part. It’s global teamwork. I really do think that it’s very amazing. They’re doing a really wonderful job. They work as a team. Can you imagine? The time zone in Taiwan (Formosa) is different than in the U.K. or in New Jersey. That’s why sometimes we have to work throughout the night, because of different time zones. If we don’t have the work ready to send out in the evening, those in other places, such as New York or Spain, will not be able to work during the daytime. If we send it in the daytime, then it’s their resting hours. Therefore, the system is truly remarkable. I really appreciate everyone, including translators and countries, such as China, Spain, Greece, U.K., U.S., Chile, and Costa Rica, etc. That’s why sometimes I work day and night. Mostly it’s like that, because of different time zones. We’re a very big group. We have hosts. How do I say it in Chinese? Hosts. And there are translators, people who go on TV, technicians, and those who do the artwork and the settings in the front and in the background. There are different kinds of work. Every program involves a lot of things. That’s why you cannot say that it’s an easy job. I myself cannot do it alone. We are a team, and I’m just one of them. Without this part, the other parts could not function. It’s just like your kitchen work, pretty much the same. Different people cook different things. One goes shopping, and the others wash cooking pots, etc. And then another one arranges and serves the food for everybody to enjoy. Many people work together. It’s good that our group is quite unified, understanding, willing and happy to work together. I don’t know. Maybe one or two of them are not happy because of being asked to work. I don’t know. To those people, I apologize. I don’t force them to work. It’s all of their own free will. The same with Supreme Master TV. They’re all very cooperative. We’re just like partners and are very willing to do it. Everybody works unitedly. Everybody is very willing to have the job done. Can you imagine? Supreme Master TV involves working staff in all corners of the world. They are from different countries but they can still continue to work very smoothly. Of course, Master has to check. Still, they work a lot. Each person is in charge of different work. Because I work with them, that’s why I’m very grateful. I know it’s not easy, and you have to accomplish it perfectly. Sometimes there are mistakes, which might have happened during my retreats alone. They made mistakes behind my back.

Because you want to know yourself more, so you came here. Because you want to help others, so you help the homeless, the disaster victims, and Supreme Master TV. So, very simple life. Even I don’t need to teach anymore. Just like that. Inside, know yourself; outside, help others. Help other beings. Other beings, not just humans, but animals, insects. And one of the sisters in the temple, she took care of the master. Maybe helping with clothes and something like that, she and her mother. Oh, she was very jealous because the abbot was very fond of me. And one time… I didn’t know much Chinese at that time, but I knew they were fighting about me. That’s the first time I heard the abbot’s loud voice and very serious face. Normally, when he taught, he didn’t smile a lot, but he had never raised his voice like that. Afterward, I left anyway. So, after he knew about it, that his own people, disciples came and learned with me, he called me into his small studio where he saw the disciples, not his own room.He was a very ascetic monk; he really practiced. He slept only on the floor. I also. I had only one blanket, and a seat, folded into foursquare – the leftover blanket from other disciples before. And I also took their leftover clothes to wear. Life was so simple and happy, and, oh, no worries, truly. When somebody else already has a house for you, has a room for you, you don’t pay bills or anything. And you can take second-hand clothes to wear at your liberty, and even blankets you don’t have to buy; it’s already there. You shake it, and then you use it. I felt so cool. You don’t have a responsible feeling. That is the best thing. You feel so free, so free. I worked very hard. So, they were fighting, one day. So, I just pretended I didn’t understand much. I did understand some but not the whole thing. So, he asked me. He called me into the studio room, and he asked me, “You are teaching this and that people, right? They came to ask for your teaching, right?” I said, “Yes, they came. They forced me to.” He said, “It’s different from what I’m teaching here, right?” He taught breathing and concentrating maybe on the nose or finger, and the eyes opened one third. Just look straight in front of you with the eyes opened, like this, all the time. Oh, I cheated. I closed because it hurt so. Of course, he didn’t check. He didn’t check who closed, who did not.So, he was teaching his disciples to meditate and retreat, and we did all the same. I did the same. I never said anything, until those days when the Black American people came, and then the cat got out of the bag. So, and then he asked me, “How come you never taught me?” I was surprised he asked. I said, “Oh, because you never asked.” And that’s it. That’s the end of our conversation. He should have asked me. I only answered his question, but he didn’t ask further. Maybe he felt embarrassed or something. For spiritual practice, you should never bring your ego into play. You should be always eager to learn more. If I truly believe or know something better than this Quan Yin Method, I would continue. In fact, I did some, but nothing worked very well. Like all the yoga stuff. I went and tried different things, just in case. In the beginning. But, so that’s that. But if I truly know or believe that there is something better, I would go learn right away, even now. But because I know so well already, I know too well inside already, so I’m not going anywhere. That’s all. I just feel so happy if I have time to do my own stuff, not to go anywhere, learn anything more. Like the Buddha said, “You’re already finished with learning. You’re beyond learning,” in those sutras. I feel that way. I feel I’m beyond learning. Or behind learning. Something like that. OK, guys. Go eat, go home. (Thank You, Master.) You’re welcome.I’ll try the shoes. My God, it took me some time to pick these shoes to match my petticoat, and then it’s broken. Let me down like that. Because this one is easy. It doesn’t have straps or anything. You just slide in and go. And still, it let me down. Shame on you! You were selected. You should feel happy and honored. What did you do? You laughed at me. Look! I know why. It looks new because I don’t wear a lot these years. They bought so many; everybody bought different things. It looks new but it’s too old, or maybe it wasn’t glued well. We are laughing too hard, so… It also has a “soul.” Shoe has a “soul” (sole). Laughing. Has “soul,” right? Chinese don’t understand that. I play with words.Thank you very much. Maybe I can fix it, just glue. UHU, what is, Glue-All, everlasting glue. (Super Glue.) Super Glue. …cannot do it. Sorry, guys. Have to put it on here. Maybe I can see it better. For you, even more difficult to see your toes than I, so don’t laugh at me. I’m putting on some weight or something, sitting too long and computer every day, not used to it. Thank you. Good. Good, you give me shoes. Thank you. Getting better all the time. Give me glasses and then give me shoes. Complaining does work. How to say it? Complaining does work. You’ve progressed. The merit is immeasurable.I’m just doing with my feeling. I don’t even see where it is. That’s what I call “doing without doing.” Just use your feeling. Is it OK? No, the men don’t understand women. It’s OK. Very good. OK. Go eat, good appetite, (Thank You.) and good practice. Good practice. I thank all of you again for helping the world, by helping Supreme Master TV in any way.So, what shall I do? I have new glasses. Check it out. I like both, very fashionable. Which one looks better? (That one, first one.) This one. (Yes.) (This one.) Why? (Very fashionable.) Very fashionable? (It’s classy.) It’s good. It’s a good make. (White. Matches Your pearls.) My fake pearls, my vegan pearls. This one no good? Looks very impressive. (It’s OK.) Not impressive? Bigger than my face. This one’s better. (Fits better, yes.) Guys, you do know something about luxury. It’s a good brand. I don’t want to say what. People might think I got some commission from them. Famous brand. I was desperate. I needed something, and in the airport, they don’t sell cheaper stuff. Only in the gas station, you can find. These are a little bit big, but it’s good. It’s fashionable nowadays. They wear big things. This for me? Keep it here. So next time I come, I can wear it, or maybe I take it. It’s all mine. Mine. Not for you. No, no, no, no. I forgot what brand it is. I have to look, maybe, but I’m not telling you. No more secrets nowadays, no more. Too many secrets. Wow! No wonder. You know everything about luxury and good stuff. I did not know until I bought it. The price told me that it must be famous. And I asked, “Is this a famous brand?” “Of course, Master! What do You think? The name, You didn’t know?” I said, “No.” So many names nowadays are famous. Wow! You look better. When you don’t see people too close or clearly, they all look good and feel good. OK, thank you, friends.Love you guys. (We love You, Master.) (We love You more.) Are you sure? (Yes.) How can you love me more than I love? (Too good from You.) Cannot be possible. The fruit, give it to the new people. New people, never had? One. Never mind, never mind. First, just a banana. Sorry! (It’s OK.) Risk your life for it. It’s too far. Here. Banana is easier to throw. Wow! Incredible! Wow! Look at that! Should be on a football team. Give, give, give, give. And this one, please, give, give, give. This one. It’s just a few.Oh, you know what? Last time the artists were here, Mitchell, she introduced the song. Oh, I liked it so much! I listened to it many, many times at home, whenever, and I was so sleepy already, but I still wanted to listen, because that was the only time I could listen. It was very cool. I listened many times. And one of our brothers is in there also. That guy. I thought it was you and I asked, and it was really you. Cool. What made you go there and mix in there? There you go. Very good. Excellent. We’re going now. Something like, “Go vegan, go,” something. Can you begin? (“Go vegan, go vegan, go.”) Not like that! You have to really sing. I forgot the... “Go vegan, go.” (“Go vegan, go vegan, go.”) “Go vegan, go vegan, go.” “No meat, no dairy, no, no.” (“No meat, no dairy, no, no. Go vegan, go vegan, go.”) “Go vegan, go vegan, go.” (“No meat, no dairy, no, no.”) “No meat, no dairy, no, no.” OK, I am going. (Take care, Master.) I am going now. I really am going. I am not joking. I am going. You should know. (OK.) Thank you. Maybe like this, safer.Sometimes, when I meditate, things are revealed to me. Or there are some messages, and I don’t even know until later when I have time to check. See you later, guys. (See You later.) See you whenever, and you enjoy your life. Meditate. Be good. Very simple. Very simple. I told the ex-vice president of your country. I said, “Here, we live very simple,” because she asked me what we do. I said, “Here, we live very simple. Our life is very simple. Inside, we get enlightened and wisdom. Outside, we help others. That’s all.” Very simple. Inside, know yourself; outside, help other people. Isn’t that simple? (Yes.) Not just people, but help others. (Yes, Master.) It’s very simple. Is it simple? (Yes.) Inside, get to know yourself; (Yes.) outside, help others. That’s the only simple thing to do. Not complicated. I talk a lot, but it boils down only to that: inside, get to know ourselves; outside, help others. Very simple. Because you want to know yourself more, so you came here. Because you want to help others, so you help the homeless, the disaster victims, and Supreme Master TV. So, very simple life. Even I don’t need to teach anymore. Just like that. Inside, know yourself; outside, help others. Help other beings. Other beings, not just humans, but animals, insects.(The most merciful Master.)Hallo. Nice hat. The climate has really changed. I think we really have climate change. Because Taiwan (Formosa), today I looked at the weather, or maybe not today, but I look at the weather forecast for Supreme Master TV these few days, 27°C! You’re joking! We are nearly Christmas already. It’s supposed to be very cold. 27 degrees! (Celsius) Must be joking. This is winter, isn’t it? (Yes.) Christmas is coming soon. (Yes.) 27 degrees! (Celsius) I watched the forecast for a few places on Supreme Master TV. 27 degrees C in Taipei. That means it’s about the same here. My God. Must be joking. 27 degrees C. It’s like summer. Look at me in this dress. I don’t even feel cold. I feel hot actually. I’m going. I really have to go.Thank you, thank you. My car is here already, but I’ll go to the kitchen. I’m going to eat in the kitchen. I’ll eat with the working team. We don’t eat together every day, not every time. I thought I could not make it today. Because I fell asleep over there, I thought I would go home soon to rest. But I ended up staying for so long, and I still have to eat. How strange! (Hallo, Master.) Hallo. (Master is beautiful. You dress more and more beautifully.) SM Celestial clothes. (Master is so beautiful.) We designed this ourselves. (Hallo, Master.) It’s our own design. There’s new Celestial Jewelry. (Yes.) Are they on display? (Yes.) Anyone wears it? Let me have a look. (Elixir.) They didn’t give me any. All are for the disciples. They forgot me. (Hallo, Master.) Wow, so many Dharma guards. Wow! Look, it’s spectacular! Wow, very impressive. Thank you. Thank you very much. They won’t let me live in that cave. Wow, they wrote so many letters, saying this and that would happen if I live in it. I don’t want to live in it either. There is a new one. I don’t have to live in the old one. I wanted to repair it to serve as a memorial. But they said it can’t seem to be fixed. (Yes.) It’s dilapidated, not easy to fix. No one can go in. It’s dangerous. Because it’s too old, it can collapse any time. Hallo. (Hallo, Master.) Long time no see. (Hallo, Master.) Long time no see. Such a long queue, as if to see a celebrity. It makes me feel very important. (Master is very beautiful.) Thanks a lot. (Master is so beautiful.) Thank you. Thank you.

Да използваме своята мъдрост, част 9 от 10

So, the abbot said, “You can do more than you think.” Then he really could. Meaning the body is able to withstand more than what we think. We just pre-programmed ourselves into thinking that, “Oh, I need this, I need that. I need to sleep.” But if we have an interesting movie, sometimes we don’t sleep at all. Keep watching, watching, watching.Dates. Green dates, green color. Dates, right? And I bought just a small amount in a plastic bag. And I went there and offered to the abbot at that temple, and he shared it with Roshi Kapleau. Roshi is Japanese, it means “master,” master of Zen. Meaning he already became a teacher, he could teach Zen already, so, Roshi Kapleau. And he talked in Taipei before. One time, he came all the way from America. He wrote a book also. He went to Japan and studied Zen there. I will get to the point soon. You know my calendar by now. It makes it more interesting. Otherwise, I’d just tell you in two seconds, finished, nothing else and no punch line or no waiting. And then, I didn’t mean to sneak or anything. I just happened to be outside next to that window, outside of the window with other people, and they were eating inside at the table, and the abbot gave him these green dates. You eat it, it’s similar to an apple. It’s crunchy; it’s about this big only. Oh no, some are bigger, about this big. About like this and this big, and it’s crunchy. It tastes very nice. It depends on which one, of course, but mostly it tastes very nice. I like it very much. A long time I haven’t seen it, but if I see it, I will save one and show you, so you can drool, only one.And the abbot offered my dates, the green dates, to Roshi Kapleau and said, “Oh, this is precious. This is precious.” He didn’t know it was from me. I did not give it directly. I gave it only, of course, to his disciples and they gave it to him. And, just by the way, I sat there and saw him giving it to Roshi Kapleau and said, “Oh, this is precious. This is precious.” But I don’t know why he said that. Maybe he sensed something. He was also a very good practitioner, Fourth Level at that time. I let him go up already. And he said, “This is precious. This is precious.” He offered it and introduced that to him. But I wondered why he said that because this thing in Taiwan (Formosa) is nothing really precious. It’s nothing really precious, is it? And in season, it’s plentiful, and it’s pretty cheap because I even I could afford it out of my NT$500 per month. How much is that? NT$500. How much is that? ($15.) Ten? ($15.) Fifteen? Fifteen dollars. But I had to pay for the bus to go there, because I admired that abbot at that time. I was a nun, a freshman from precept school. So, I went there and then I accidentally saw him also, Roshi Kapleau. So, they ate it and then they seemed to really enjoy it. Oh, my heart felt so good, so good. Because they didn’t know it was me who gave it even. So, they did not know that I was so happy inside. Because the abbot, he was a big monk. Many people came and he had everything, all the offerings of the people, all the time. So, for him, this little green date was nothing. But he said, “Oh, this is precious.” He kept saying that while offering it to Roshi Kapleau. “Oh, this is precious. This is precious, precious.” He really meant it. His face and.... And then they ate, and they enjoyed it so much. The silent giver just secretly knew about their secret. Oh, I loved… I never forgot that feeling. Felt so good! Felt so good. Because I didn’t have a lot of money. And this thing for me, I thought this was nothing at all. Thus, I didn’t even directly give it to him because it was nothing. Just like you go out and buy a few grapes or something. Grapes are even more valuable. So, I felt already very embarrassed that I didn’t have much to give. So, I gave it to whomever. I said, “Ah, this… Yeah, you know.” Like I didn’t even say for whom or anything. I thought they would just put it together in a bunch of oranges, apples, mixed together for everybody. I did what I could. I didn’t want to come empty-handed and that’s all I could afford. But they sat there and ate it all with appreciation and gusto and love and said, “Precious, precious!” Repeated it again, again, and again. For this monk to say that. He’s very famous in Taiwan (Formosa). He was very famous. He’s gone already, gone to Heaven already. But for him to say that, and I admired him. He went to my resided temple at that time and lectured. Though I did not understand much, but I saw him as a very dignified monk, a true monk. And the way he looked. Oh, I really liked him so much. So, I went to visit his temple and brought my little recording machine that I had, to record his teachings. So that when I came home, I could have it translated for me.Because I love monks who are real, monks and nuns who are real, and even go out and preach to people. And the way he looked. Just like when you look at the picture of Baba Sawan Singh, you feel something, you feel He’s something. Not just any other Sikh gurus, but He has something. Immediately, the first time I saw, that’s how I felt. The photo only. He was gone then. So, I felt very good. But that’s not the end of the story. Remind me before the calendar gets too long. So, this Roshi Kapleau, he had been studying Zen with true Zen monks in Japan. He also wrote something very funny. American. He asked, “Why don’t you eat beef or eat meat?” American. I don’t know if at that time, he was vegetarian or not. Maybe later he was. So the monk in the temple, the Japanese monk, not the abbot but a simple monk, said, “We don’t eat meat because we cannot afford it.” So, he wrote it – he thought it was funny – in his book. I had it, the book. I don’t know how I had it, but I don’t know where (it is) anymore. Gone with the wind, anyway. I’ve traveled too much. I don’t have many things left. So, he studied with Zen monks in Japan, the famous Zen monks. I forgot his master’s name. And then he graduated. But in Japan, sometimes, they do retreats, of course, together, for one week or two weeks. And one time, they did it for two weeks. The first time he went there, they were doing it for two weeks. After two weeks, they still made him continue to sit longer. He said, “Oh! I cannot anymore! First time I sit so long already.” Then the master abbot said to him, “You are more capable than what you think. Just sit extra.” And he did!I want to say that our body is really a marvel. You can push it to the limit. Of course, we don’t always want to push. We want to enjoy a little nap here and there. Oh, my God, life is hard enough. But don’t nap too long. Don’t say, “Master said that.” You nap a lot already. Even during meditation, you nap a lot. Lucky you’re not in a Japanese temple. In Japan, the abbot or the assistant comes around with such a long, long, very long stick, flat, and they can reach you anywhere, like omnipresent, omnipotent, because it’s long. And mostly, the temple is not that big. So, even they can sit here, they see you’re napping, then they “puck.” Wake you up so rudely. But it’s not that painful. I’ve been hit. Once. But it’s not painful. It’s just the embarrassment. They want to emphasize that, “Hey, you cheated. You are not a good practitioner. Sleeping on the job! No good!” Seems like that. But it doesn’t hurt. They don’t do it to hurt you. But they have to do it correctly; otherwise, it might hurt you in a different way. So, it’s just on the shoulder. Tap one shoulder, two shoulders, that’s it. Once, and then you probably won’t dare sleep again because it makes a noise, and everybody looks at you and knows that you were sleeping. And for Zen monks, there’s a pride – a pride to sit straight non-stop and saying something like, “Moooooo.” Or maybe, “Ommmm.” Or maybe, “Whoooo am I?” Or, “I am whoooo?” I know who I am, but maybe you don’t know, so you keep asking yourself. Koan. And they’re very diligent. They also sit outside in the night. And then he did it. So, he wrote it in his book. He did not think he could make it because: “How can I? Sat already two weeks, how can I sit another week? For what? How can I? How can I? We’re so happy it ended, that we can go out, do what we want. Now the abbot makes us sit again.” So, the abbot said, “You can do more than you think.” Then he really could. Meaning the body is able to withstand more than what we think. We just pre-programmed ourselves into thinking that, “Oh, I need this, I need that. I need to sleep.” But if we have an interesting movie, sometimes we don’t sleep at all. Keep watching, watching, watching. But if it’s going to do kitchen chores or cleaning the bathroom, “Oh, I’m so tired and sleepy.” The reason I was sleepy was also because I didn’t do what I wanted to do. I wasn’t really enjoying preparing my dress or cleaning some of the things, etc. I did not really enjoy it. I do it for the job. Not that I’m not willing, it’s just that willing and enjoying are different things. Sometimes you do things that you don’t want to do, but you do it willingly because it’s for a good cause. So, another story about him is that, when he first came… Japan is cold in winter, believe me, it snows very high. You can see in one of my clips that I walked like this, with a big hat, (Yes.) flowing hat, flowing frill. Japan, near the wood cabin where I lived before. When he first came, it was maybe winter or something, so cold like that. So, they gave him these warm packs – you have it here sometimes – and told him to put it on his stomach, “Dantian,” the solar plexus, then it will warm the whole body. So he did that. And later, they discovered that he’d burned – the whole area burned, nasty burnt skin. They treated him but laughed, saying, “You idiot! Why did you put it directly on your skin? We all put it on the top of the cloth and we bind it.” But he didn’t say anything. He continued to meditate like that. Some funny stories that he told us. So that is his story, the story of Roshi Kapleau. He had students in America afterwards, and this abbot invited him to come. Because this abbot also had another temple in New York. He went Taiwan (Formosa), New York, Taiwan (Formosa), New York. He had a green card. And that’s where I cleaned toilets at the beginning and then was discovered by the group of people, of black American people. They were my first disciples in America. And later, some of the disciples of the abbot also wanted to follow me. I also taught them. Might as well, I already began, why not? And afterwards, I left, because they saw many people came to see me again and again, and it began making smoke. And also, I didn’t eat for a long time, for a while, so they began to get curious and asked me, and then blah, blah, blah, and then I taught them. And then the abbot also got wind of it.Correct? Heard about it; got wind of it. I don’t know where I learned that. I didn’t even use that before, ever. I don’t know where I even read this kind of thing. These people don’t talk like that. Often, no. I haven’t heard it before. It just comes out. Must be from you. Thank you. Your blessing. Yeah! Sometimes you sit with intelligent people, they rub off on you, or vice versa. Or you rub off on them, and you become stupid. Truly. No. If I stay too long with some people who don’t speak a lot of English and who are a little bit less than low IQ, then I become also kind of dull, and sometimes think a long time for one word, and talking but don’t make good sentences. Then I know it’s time to “sayonara” (goodbye) for a while. Otherwise, I become where, I don’t know where I go, become what. So, of course, then the master knew about it.

The body is a really funny thing. You can really push it. Sometimes I work very hard, I’m very tired. I want to sleep but I cannot, because of the deadline. Things you cannot say “tomorrow.” So, I just go out, do some whatever silly exercise, and come back and work again, or go drink something, eat something. Just take a break, a few minutes, and then it’s OK.First, they say, “You are vegetarian, right? You’re vegan, right?” And I say, “Yes.” “Ah, yes, I know. You, Supreme Master Ching Hai, right? Yes or no?” And then if I… I cannot say no, and I say, “Yes,” and then they ask again and again and again. “Really? It’s You? Yourself? Supreme Master Ching Hai self?” So I say to the assistant, “Tell her.” I’m embarrassed, man. I cannot just say, “Here! Me! Gorilla coming.” Keep asking ten times, I’m embarrassed. Everybody is looking and listening now. The whole restaurant knows. Before, they didn’t notice; they kept eating their own noodles, minding their own salad. Until they all make a big deal and take photos and whatnot, and then the whole restaurant begins. But at least I can escape quickly. I say, “Sorry, we have to go.” But not like in our restaurant, from the beginning to the end, I just sit there like a theater, for people to watch. And even if the customers did not know, did not notice, the disciples make them. “My Master’s here! Come and look! Blessing!” Oh, blessing. Can I even eat my (vegan) soup in peace and then blessing maybe later? How can I sit there and eat? I just feel shy. Everybody sees if the noodles fall out or not. Or whether or not it’s different when the Supreme Master Ching Hai eats the salad? “Does it stick on Her teeth or not? Because everybody else has that, does She? Because She is the Supreme Master, maybe She eats differently.”And then that’s it. That’s it. I can never finish my (vegan) noodles, because they keep talking. They come and ask questions. I cannot eat, I might get strangled inside, by answering. Then the noodles might strangle me inside, or choke. “Sorry, cannot talk. Water! Please, water!” Oh, man. So, in case you want to be a Master, you should be put off by now (by) all the stories I told you. Normally, if I go, if I eat alone, if they don’t make noise, then nobody’d notice. They also talk with their relatives and friends. They enjoy their noodles, eat their salad. They don’t look at me because so many customers come in and out; not everybody keeps staring at everybody – until they stare at me. And then they make noise, then invite everybody to come and look at me for blessing, you know that? Just a really, poor Master. Like a prisoner, can’t go anywhere.I am so lazy to go out because of that. I don’t know where to go because, mostly, I find a normal outside restaurant, vegan. But, of course, I would prefer to make business also for my people, but I can’t. I might as well never go, because when I go there, I cannot eat anything. She keeps talking and answering. Because all the customers also come, asking and telling me their own opinions about religion, and ask my own opinion about religion, which they don’t care anyway. They just want to talk. And then they tell me their stories, how religious they are, for example, and how they understand about the Diamond Sutra and Surangama Sutra, for example. They would tell me; they would lecture to me. And then I just have to sit there, thinking of my (vegan) soup, listening but not hearing anything. My mind is too occupied with the soup, my favorite soup, and it’s getting colder and colder by (the) minute. So, finally, I say, “OK, we have to go.” “You pack to go?” “No, no, sorry. It’s OK, we can eat at home. Thank you very much.” Go to a restaurant and go home to eat, and not my favorite soup. I don’t want to stay longer, because I’m just kind of feeling shy, feeling uncomfortable with so much attention and being lectured with so many sutras. And even other religious (people) also come and tell me things, or introduce me to another guru. “You will learn a lot from him. You don’t know, wow, he is really something, I’m telling You. I’m not telling a lie. You go and have a look. Go try, go try!” I don’t have enough time to try my own Guru already.I have to do a lot of work. Nobody thinks I have no time. Because I go eat at a restaurant, they think I do that every day, enjoying stuff. They don’t know I’ve been meditating for one week long already or two weeks and haven’t eaten this kind of soup for long, long, long, long, long years. Because not every Aulacese (Vietnamese) restaurant cooks the same food that I like, and different people cook differently. So, anyway, I give up. Even the normal people, normal restaurants, they would recognize, but at least they don’t put their heads over my soup and let me eat first, sometimes. So, sometimes we just buy it and go in the car and eat, enjoy freedom, fresh air. It’s not too bad. Seeing all the cars passing by and “Hallo!” “Hallo!” Because they saw we parked the car on the roadside, and three just nosing in the soup, so they would think, be curious a little bit. “Hallo?” So, we said, “Hallo.” “Hallo?” “Hallo.” It’s fun to eat on the street sometimes. You make a lot of friends. I am thinking to move to Taipei. What do you think? Can you afford it? (Great.) Great. Can you afford it? Yes? (Yes.) No. It’s maybe expensive. Taipei is expensive. And I don’t know if any hotel would like to bear you kind of people: laughing, clapping, crying for no reason, sitting all day, sleeping all night. Oh no, sitting all night, sleeping all day. Don’t move, or move, and go ga-ga when one person comes in, “Oh, Master!” Like that. Wake up all their customers.I don’t know if any hotel would like to have you. Do you own any hotels in Taipei? (Many of them. I think one initiate owns one, Master.) Yes? (I think one initiate.) Really? How many rooms? (But it’s a small one...) How many rooms? (I am not local. Sorry, Master.) How small? Where is he? Is he here, she/he here? Hotel owner? Raise hand. Taipei. No? Do you know? Does anyone in Taipei know about it? You know? (It’s around the Taipei railway station.) Do you know? (I only know that it is around the Taipei railway station. But it’s quite small. It only occupies one or two levels inside a building. It has very few rooms.) How many rooms? (Very few.) Is every room small? (Yes.) It’s Taipei. How can the rooms be big? But it’s better than nothing. We can divide it into many levels inside. Because we only sit.I said, inside we can make many levels, inside a room, because we only sit, we’re not doing anything. There are no activities, so can sit, and then another on top, another on top, or sit on the shoulders, save work. The big guys sit on the (Can sit on the bottom.) bottom, and then the smallest guys or skinny like me sit on top. We also practice kung fu. You get muscles, more and more every day. I’m sure you can do that, look at your tattoo. If you can bear all that, then you can bear us. Too many. Sometimes not enough room. Taipei is small. They have a center also, but I don’t think… How many people can fit in the Taipei Center at a time? How many people at a time or in a day? My God! Nobody lives in Taipei. (About one thousand people.) Only one thousand. My God. Here’s one thousand already. Today is less. Sometimes a lot of people come.Taipei has a center but only 1,000 people. You have to put your ear (phone) on because sometimes I speak Chinese, sometimes I speak Greek. One thousand. But for them, it’s 1,000. If we come in 1,000, where would they stay? Outside? They rent it, but it’s a very nice place. And they have food cooked inside. Very nice vegan stinky tofu. I ate there only once. But they also have vegan soup, Aulacese (Vietnamese) soup, and all kinds of stuff. It’s really wonderful. You girls need some new clothes or not? There’s a shop outside. Go select what you want, as many as you want, and I sign. OK? Just tell them to put it on Master’s account. It’s my shop. I heard, I’m not sure. You guys also. OK? After this, you can go out there shopping. Do go on a shopping spree. I’ll take you. OK? Maybe we can go now, in a while. You can buy what you want. There are long dresses for winter also. There are (vegan) cakes, (vegan) cookies, also, (vegan) sandwiches. I’m not sure how tasty it is because I have not tasted it. But clothes, if you need more, you can. OK? Some to change, you know for wash and wear. You guys also. Today, I wanted to tell them to tell you guys to come, but I completely forgot. One thing after another. You know? And it’s just so busy, busy. I didn’t sleep all night and the night before also. So much disturbance and pain. Yeah? And last night because of the dogs; I waited for them outside next to the gate. And then when they came back, thirsty and hungry, they ate. I didn’t have any food except some vegan bread. Even frozen bread but it’s not hard. So, I chopped and they ate like crazy. I said, “Don’t ever go out again. Next time you won’t have food.” I just say that, but they know I’m just joking. Even if I’m not joking, they don’t care. They know nothing will happen to them. I said, “How can I love these kinds of dogs like you? How can I?” And they came, licked my toes, saying sorry, stuff like that. And then you melt. And then it starts all over again the next night. Even last night, I was very tired. I said, “Tonight, maybe no dogs.” I must send them somewhere, to sleep in their own room because I was very tired. I wanted to sleep. I really was sleepy already. But then I said, “Oh no. Then they cannot see me on Sunday, all day and then maybe at night also.” Because when I come back, maybe I’ll need concentration to work. A lot of documents were waiting because in the morning, I didn’t do it. I was busy with other things. They came back late last night, about three o’clock. Then I had to feed them because I knew they were hungry. They’d been running for three hours and a half. Can you imagine? And thirsty, so I had to give them water, change the water, give them food, and then it’s already almost day. And then I had to go and pick up my clothes, see which one I’ll wear today, and then I had to fix it, etc. I didn’t sleep at all. And I thought I could not even come here. I was that tired! But when I’m here… Yeah, I’m telling you. Just take a break, a few minutes, and then it’s OK. And this morning, after I took a shower… Because I’m coming to see you, I didn’t want to smell bad, because the whole week I did not have time to shower. Really like that. So, then I took a shower. After that, I said, “Oh no. No. No, no, no, no. No! Not now, not now, not now, not now. No!” And I splashed some cold water on my face. It’s still a “no, no, no, no, no.” I said, “What shall I do?” Today, there are some new Westerners and Asians coming, so I cannot not see them. And then my house has people coming to work. I cannot stay there either. Of course, I can; I shut all the windows and doors, draw the curtain, and just... I could. But I just said, “No, no, no, no, no!” And then, I don’t know, I was really tired. On the way here, I was still feeling sleepy. I thought I could come here and just sleep. I thought I might come here and just sleep and let you just look at me. Because you say you always want to see me, so here I am. Why not? But then, when I came here, I didn’t feel sleepy anymore. Your body is really something. You can push it.A long time ago, there was an American monk. His name was Kapleau, Roshi Kapleau. I’m not sure if he’s still alive or not. He came to Taipei, Taiwan (Formosa) to lecture before. And he went to a temple and I was there, visited that temple, and I also met him. At that time, I didn’t have money. I cleaned the temple and only (had) NT$500 per month, and you had to buy everything from that. That was in Taiwan (Formosa), not in America. In America, I didn’t even get anything. And I went to another temple and then I saw him there. So, I offered him whatever that money could buy, these dates, but Taiwanese (Formosan). It’s green; it’s so big. Dates. Green dates, green color. Dates, right? And I bought just a small amount in a bag.

I said we have to make an excuse to go back to Taipei. One by one, we make friends with all these new people. Because the outsiders also, they are so very friendly but business-friendly. Also, they are happy that we are vegan also, ideal for them. They love the same ideal people, so they serve us, wow, special. Everything is so good, so good.I can’t stand the cold so I brought extra. But now there seems no need. It’s hot. We can have air con again! (Yeah!) I can talk again! Private stuff. Nowadays, it’s so convenient. OK, we meditate, and then at four o’clock, we go eat; and then at five o’clock, we go home; and at six o’clock, I go do my work. Is the food OK, guys? (Yes.) Now and then. Now and then is OK. At home, you eat better, for sure; don’t care. (Yes.) Now and then is OK. I have to eat that every day, so you cannot complain. You eat only once in a while. You come see Master for two days, three days. Even if it’s no good, you don’t complain. (Yes.) Because if you complain, I would think I should also. I’ll write a letter: “Every day, same food, my God! Every day similar food.” In…they cook better, more variety. Sometimes they have Spanish food; sometimes they have vegan curry, real Indian curry, cook vegan samosas. Sometimes we have vegan spring rolls, Aulacese (Vietnamese), real. Sometimes we have real this, real that. Sometimes we have real vegan sandwiches, do-it-yourself. (You make us hungry.) You’re hungry now? (After You describe it so good.) Oh, yeah? I am very good at describing. (Yes, yes.) That’s the only thing I’m good at, especially when I don’t have them. I do it especially, so that they feel bad that they don’t give me anything. When I was in Taipei… You know Taipei is a very good city for vegan food. I went to Taipei one time, for some reason, I forgot; of course, I go here and there sometimes. Ah, yeah. I know what. I went to the mountain to do a retreat. And then after the retreat, I said, “Oh, I feel like eating something. I don’t feel like going home, eating the same stuff yet, so let’s go treat ourselves to something. Look on the internet to see where, what. OK?” And then we went. They said nearby, otherwise, we’d have to take too long to drive. Nearby, there’s an Aulacese (Vietnamese) restaurant – not our disciples, not our initiates who made it, outside people. It was so good, so good! Even just a simple (vegan) noodle tasted so good. And that (vegan) sandwich they made, Aulacese (Vietnamese) Aulacese (Vietnamese) (vegan) bread, oh, my God, a long time, I didn’t have. Long time, I don’t know how many years or decades or centuries since I’d had this good food. So, I ate, ate, ate. And one of the drivers, he is specialized in eating. Whatever you put in front of him, no matter how much, he would finish it all for you. So, I said, “Wow! We should do this every day.” The way he ate made me hungry, eat more, enjoy. And I said, “I feel sorry for myself. Now we’ll go home and eat the same stuff again, almost the same every day.” Because they buy in a chunk. They buy big, so that it’s cheaper. So, they probably buy 100 watermelons, so we have to eat that for one month, for example. Cheaper, you know? Wholesale. Or 2000 kilograms of potatoes, then we have to eat that for another two months. It’s cheap. At least it’s clean water over there. And they buy big chunk, big boxes of cabbages, and then we have to demolish it in two, three months, or maybe one month minimum. And so on and so forth. So, I don’t even need to have magic power or go to the kitchen to check. I know what’s going to be on my table tonight. So, I said, “No, let’s go eat something good.” So, we went to eat that Aulacese (Vietnamese) food. So good, so good. And I said, “Is there some other food like this, similar foreigner food?” They said, “Oh, many, Master. We have even Mexican vegan.” Oh, to the “Mexi-mum.” “Mexi-mum” tortillas, “Mexi-mum” what? Tell me. ((Vegan) Tamales.) (Vegan) burrito in “Mexi-mal.” And then they even have an Italian restaurant, and Thai vegan, and Italian vegan, Mexican vegan. I said, “Wow! What am I doing in the New Land? These are all my faves!” Indian vegan and Mexican – oh, these are all my faves, all this lifetime, years. The problem is I have been around. I’ve traveled a lot before, even during marriage time, so I have tasted all kinds of good food. And now… stuck here.I really felt sorry for myself that day. I said we have to make an excuse to go back to Taipei. One by one, we make friends with all these new people. Because the outsiders also, they are so very friendly but business-friendly. Also, they are happy that we are vegan also, ideal for them. They love the same ideal people, so they serve us, wow, special. Everything is so good, so good. Because they know we are vegan. We said, “We are vegan, so make sure everything is vegan.” “Yeah, we have only vegan here.” Wonderful. No need to worry. The attendant brings food for me every day. Normally, they put it out there and then whenever I feel the time, I come out and get it and bring it to my table. So yesterday, I said, “I am sure it’s the same again like yesterday, right?” He said, “More or less, Master. Except the potato is boiled instead of fried,” or whatever, instead of boiled. Boiled whole instead of boil chopped. I said to him, “Hey, you think you miss …food or not? It’s better than here, right?” He said, “Yeah, yeah. A little bit more variety.” I said, “If you miss the food, you go, man. Go there to eat.” He said, “No, Master. It’s OK. You are here, I am here. I won’t go just for food.” I said, “Really? Wow, that’s touchy-feely. Oh, good, good, good.” I said, “Yeah, of course, if I can eat, you can, right?” He said, “OK, no problem.” He said, “Oh, for me, no problem.” For him. He said, “It doesn’t matter.” Meaning, it doesn’t matter, it’s equal to him. I don’t think he tells 100% truth, but it’s OK. He didn’t want to make me feel bad. I think I should move to Taipei. Why should I stay here? I can move all of you also. We’ll rent a hotel or something. You pay, I eat. (I invite You!) Yeah! (OK!) We are not many. We are about 100 people sometimes. We can book one whole hotel all year round. And today we go to Indian, tomorrow we go to Mexican, next day Italian, and the other day Aulacese (Vietnamese), and the other – Korean even! They have Korean vegan. Oh, all kinds! And other days, Sunday we go – we go where? Thai vegan. Wow! You’re right, I am hungry too. (Then You’ll make me into the real Happy Buddha.) It has an effect, I am telling you. You are happy already, no need to make exaggeration. We’re happy to see you like that already. No need to please us any further. We wish you to develop but not exaggerate, because then we have to carry you. We have to wheel you in the hall. We have some wheelchairs. Can do. I wheel my food because they put it on the tray, and then I put it on the wheeling table, because I cannot carry all that. Actually, they give a lot; the portion is a lot. Just that this is for a public kitchen. I sometimes cannot eat, so I return almost the same. I do think of these Aulacese (Vietnamese), and Mexican, and Korean, and Italian, and whatnot. What else? Thai and Indian. Oh, all kinds of my favorites! My God!The lucky Taipei people. And even then, not all of them are vegetarian or vegan. Shame! Don’t you think so? (Yes.) Shame on you, Taipei people. You should be vegan. It’s so convenient! I wish I could exchange places with them. Then I do nothing ‒ don’t have to be Master, don’t have to sit here, drooling about all kinds of food. Of course, they have Chinese vegan restaurants also. And to eat outside in an ordinary restaurant is a treat, I’m telling you.I don’t go to Loving Hut so often. Only once every two years, maybe. And (only) if I have to. Because if I go there, it’s work. It’s work to go to Loving Hut restaurants, my own Loving Hut restaurant to eat. I could even get overly praised, overly kneeled on the floor, and just making people look at me like weird stuff. “Why is She making people kneel?” I don’t make anybody kneel. They come, “Oh, Master!” Just come out of the kitchen, “Oh, Master!” and then on the floor. I feel sorry for the floor. Just drop like that, so heavy. One-hundred-pound person drops like that, or more even, sometimes 200 pounds, depends. Happy Buddhas. Happy lady Buddhas. And, OK, that’s not all. Everybody comes to put their head over my (vegan) soup. On my table, my food is here, “Master, bless me! Please!” Surely my soup won’t taste the same. Now you laugh? Why did it take so long? Translation. Wait until the Korean and Aulacese (Vietnamese) laugh, then we’re finished. You’ve finished laughing? There is more to come, but I forgot. They treat you equally. They don’t come and make trouble. Some know it, but they just say, and then I know. Then I don’t say anything. I pretend they don’t know, and they pretend they don’t know me, until I pay. After I pay, they say, “Where do You live?” “Are You the...?” I say, “Look the same, look similar, right?” They say, “You are not?” If I say I am, they don’t believe it. “You? Really? You? Yourself? It’s You? Your very self?” I say, “Yeah. You asked me, so I have to say the truth.” “Oh! Photograph, please!” And then the whole restaurant comes out. Well, at least they wait until I’ve enjoyed my dinner, and don’t put their head over my soup, or my salad, or whatnot. Sometimes they don’t know until the end. Somehow, they find out. When I come to pay and then they look close up. “Huh? Uh… Eeh…” So funny. Couldn’t speak, just, “Ah... eh... em... ah… You are Supreme Master Ching Hai, right? A vegetarian, right?”First, they say, “You are vegetarian, right?

Even a simple place doesn’t mean lousy, sloppy, or shabby. A simple place can be very beautiful, very cute, and lovely, and very warm, cozy, cozy. I like those. I think I’ll forget Lord (Mahavira) today. Sorry. My calendar is coming out. You stay here and you bless everybody while I talk, or you talk, and I just sit there. It would be nicer. So, we do really need wisdom. Not because you get initiation and are secure, and then you don’t have to grow up anymore. We do have to. People outside, when you hire them for something the disciples cannot do, the Taiwanese (Formosan) cannot do, they hire outside people. Oh, they’re absolutely polite. They even stayed late at night to finish just the roof, glass roof for me. They stayed overnight. They stayed until late at night to do it, and even then, it was their New Year. It’s the most important for them, but they stayed to do it. I did not ask, but they knew I needed it.I stayed on the roof, and then they put the filtered sunglass on top for me, and they stayed late. Of course, later I rewarded them with extra money. I said, “This is for your wife, your kids at home. When you get home, you say this is for New Year, so they don’t complain (about) why you stayed late, and they don’t doubt that maybe you stayed somewhere else. This money is the proof. And tell them they can call me, call my people here to prove that you were here all this time with all your workers and many other eyewitnesses.” He said, “No problem, we are working, we are not doing anything.” I said, “You know, I know, but the wife doesn’t know. We women are very, very careful about husbands and men. We never trust 100%. We always reserve something to prove, for fun. Just to have something to think about or to be on edge, to be alive, like, ‘We’re still here. Watch us. We’re sharp.’”And later, I gave much more extra money, not just the overtime. They didn’t want to take it. They respect me so much, even they’re not disciples. Respect. So, everybody was willing to stay and work. But I gave them extra money for overtime and then for New Year, for them and extra more for their family. I said, “This is for your wife. Tell her why you got this money, so that she doesn’t complain or she doesn’t feel hurt, that maybe you treated the work more importantly than your family, even on New Year’s Eve time. I really appreciate that you stayed. I did not expect it, but I really appreciate it so much that tonight I can stay here now, that I don’t have to stay in the room downstairs.”I don’t like the room. It’s just an empty roof, and then they put a tent for me, and I was so happy there. Really, I was reluctant to leave. Only after I discovered the cave, then I was not reluctant anymore. I moved immediately, like love at the first sight. But I was very pleased up there. I was so contented with a tent and the roof, empty everywhere. I was truly happy. During the retreat, I had to stay. I had to bear it until after the retreat, but I had to wear the shoes instead of walking bare feet like in the house, as I like. I wore the slippers just in case. And I didn’t touch the wood door, the poisonous door. I used cloth or something, or I did it with the elbow, with the cloth already on to avoid, in case, because I’m sensitive, I’m fragile, I’m small. I’m the smallest around here, am I not? Don’t you consider that? Without the high heels, you wouldn’t find me at all. “Where is Master? She disappeared!”One time, I was in France SMC center, and I always invited the Westerners, because it’s very small, and short-term Westerners come to my little hut behind the center. And I put vegan bread and even just vegan butter, they said, “Oh, yum, yum, yum.” I put anything, “Yum, yum, yum.” Whatever I gave, “Yum, yum!” They liked it; they were kind of, wow, so eager to get just a morsel. And then because it was in my place, I didn’t wear high heels; I just wore similar like this. If you were there or not, I don’t remember. If you don’t remember, you were not there. None of you. Imagine. You were there, you ate my (vegan) bread? (Yes.) OK. See that? One witness. And of course, so I wore sandals, slippers. And I wore this monk’s robe. And I was chopping (vegan) bread for everybody and putting some vegan mayonnaise or whatever I had that they prepared for me in the fridge. I said, “Bring more bread. Even just bread alone, they take it like gold.” Oh, my God. I’d never seen, just like hungry ghosts or something. They’d already eaten dinner, these were extra. But everybody’s like… Oh, my God, I thought I could open a shop and sell to disciples and I’d earn millions in no time, surely. They’d fight for it. Queuing outside, and making me more famous. And outsiders would even queue with them. “It must be good because a lot of people queuing.” They don’t know the disciples; they’d queue for anything as long as I am there. They’re just queuing, queuing. If I open a stinky tofu shop, oh, I’m sure you all will be standing there, drooling all day long. Come back again and again. So, I was chopping (vegan) bread, and some more people kept coming because this is a small place. It’s just like a small corridor and I had a little hut, maybe two by one and a half, something like that. Those storerooms that are ready-made, you buy and then you put there, and you just stay in. Wonderful! I love this kind of arrangement. I never liked any big building, bang, bang, boom, boom, cement. I don’t feel the difference between a big room and a small room. I’m small, luckily also. I enjoy this kind of quick build, simple. You live inside, you feel like, OK, you’ve accomplished something, just the way you like it. And then I chopped-chopped (vegan) bread and one of your sisters, her husband was there, and she was there, and she looked at me head to toe, toe to head again, and said, “Oh, without the high heels, You look so small!” I said, how can she guess? I said, “How can you guess? Didn’t you know this before? I’m glad you noticed now. Probably your wisdom eye opened.”Even a simple place doesn’t mean lousy, sloppy, or shabby. A simple place can be very beautiful, very cute, and lovely, and very warm, cozy, cozy. I like those. I am also busy. I don’t need to clean too big. That kind of house, you clean in “zoop,” one second, two the maximum. Very quickly. And you don’t need a lot of things, just a towel, a cleaning cloth; that’s it. You don’t need a lot of vacuum cleaner, that’s one thing less.Tell me, Nick. You look wise and old. I mean not old, wise. (Old, old, OK. I…) We’re in the same boat, don’t worry. Tell me. (I had a house with a wooden floor, and it was very, very old, but it was still new. And everybody would come in and say, “Why don’t you put the shellac or the shiny things that they do?”) Polishing it, right? (And I said, “No, I like it like that.” I would go with the vacuum cleaner, clean up, and I loved it. But everybody else wanted that shiny thing, not me.) Yeah, I know, I know. They have nothing else to do. (No. Yeah.) Just like if you’re just sniffling a little bit, ten people come up and tell you, “Take this, take that. Go to that doctor he’s good; that doctor, no, no. I know something, home remedy, take this.” And then they give you ten thousand medicines out of love. (And then some people said, “Oh, why don’t you tear it down and build a new one?”) Yeah, yeah, yeah. (I said, “No, no, I like this. I like simple.”)They told me like that with my old farmhouse in Spain. (I understand, in the same boat.) I didn’t even live there. I lived outside in a small hut I bought myself. It was too small actually, 1.60 (meter) and 1.90 (meter), but I fit. I even had a heater inside, a small television as well, and some hooks to hang my clothes. And I bought some small square things like they make it ready, a square box like this and you have two drawers in it. So, I bought about ten of them. I put them together, it became a bed. And I put a mattress or whatever I had on it, and that was wonderful. I had my clothes under, my tools, even a hammer and… Yeah! A hammer and a screwdriver, all kinds of stuff, you have no idea. I had all, it was organized. And then I was very happy, but they said, “This house…” Any worker who came to help me always advised me something. I said, “Does that cost me something also? Is that included in the price that you fix my pipe or not?” Just a joke.Anybody who came there always advised me, “Tear it down. Build a modern one.” I said, “I don’t even live in it, what for? Just leave it there, souvenir.” And if it becomes a ruin, then in Spain we have many ruins everywhere, so it just joins the club. I said, “What for do you take care of the things that you don’t need and unnecessary? It’s not even obliged (obligatory) by law.” But everybody who came, the guy who fixed the road a little bit, “You, that house is too old already.” I said, “It’s still livable. It’s still standing.” “You must build a new one. I know a builder, very good, very fast, cheap.” I said, “No need cheap or expensive. I just don’t need to.” Later, I was tired, so I said, “OK, OK. I’ll think about it maybe. If I want, I’ll call you. Give me your phone number quickly.” And then they were happy. “Call me. I’m always available for You.” My God.And sometimes I didn’t call them, they called me, “Hey, Your house, how about it now?” I said, “Nothing, it’s the same like before. You want to go have a look? Be welcome.” Oh, man, I’m telling you, people don’t understand. They busy themselves for nothing with too much trimming grass or manicuring plants. There are some manicured plants I’m going to remove also. Just like the fence, the plants they planted around the fence to keep it green or safe or whatever when they grow thicker together, but I don’t want it. If they grow very tall, and I don’t cut it, then it covers my view. If I let people cut it, I don’t feel good. I don’t want trees to be chopped and cut if truly not necessary.
