Em Comemoração ao Grande Sábio: Confúcio

Today, September 28, the day also commemorates the birthday of the great sage, Master Confucius. According to Confucius, there are five essential virtues of a true gentleman: benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom, and trustworthiness. Among them, benevolence is the central tenet, which means to love all humans and other beings. It also includes animals as indicated in Master Confucius’ vegetarian lifestyle. The Confucian approach to world peace through development of inner virtue, self-cultivation, family harmony, and state governance are a positive influence to the world. In Taiwan (Formosa), the traditional Confucius memorial ceremony has been kept alive. Each year on this day, grand ceremonies dedicated to Master Confucius are held in many places.
