Lofty verdant mountain ranges; birds soaring across the sky; green paddy fields stretching far and wide; the rising sun and rolling clouds on Alishan Mountain; the towering Qingshui Cliffs; the long, jagged coastline; and the spirited people living on this land. This land was first called Formosa, meaning “Beautiful Island.” It has also been marred by human’s modernization and further degradation of Earth’s precious ecology. The film won two awards at the World Fest-Houston International Film Festival, as well as Best Documentary at the Golden Horse Film Festival.
